80’s Music — what do you remember?

Win a New York fly-away to see The Police live!!

THE POLICE returned to the stage as they left it more than 20 years ago – as rock greats. The kickoff show in Vancouver on Monday night, May 28th, was the band’s first gig since 1984, but they didn’t fall back on fancy props and light shows.Instead, it was just three guys and their music. And while the blokes might be getting on a bit – STING occasionally danced like a dad – the music has not aged at all.Kicking off with Message In A Bottle, they soon had the 20,000-strong crowd on their feet, roaring at the start of a five-month world tour. A&M Records have plans of releasing police cd boxed set releases catalog this year.

And despite a few rusty moments mid-show, an encore featuring Every Breath You Take finished their comeback in style.

Sting owned the stage and did son JOE SUMNER. whose band FICTION PLANE was the support act, very proud.

Meanwhile ANDY SUMMERS wowed fans with his guitar solos, and STEWART COPELAND proved he is still a great drummer . . . despite the dodgy headband.

It brought back memories, and The Police CD boxed set is surely something you wouldn’t want to miss. Hey – you can even win a trip to New York!!
