Eartha Kitt – A truly remarkable entertainer

I went to Rehoboth Beach, DE with papa to weekends ago.  While shopping at the outlet stores, I saw a CD of Eartha Kitt.  A song included in the album is ‘Waray Waray’.  I heard of it before and wanted to listen to her sing ‘Waray Waray’ so I bought the CD.  On the way home, we were listening to the song over and over again.  But we didn’t get the chance to hear the whole CD.

Yesterday, we were travelling to Atlantic City with my maid and my assistant.  We were listening to Regine for a while and then got tired of it.  So we switched to Eartha Kitt’s CD.  This is the first time I heard the whole album and it was fantastic!!  I mean, she can speak French fluently, and also sing the words to ‘Waray Waray’ as if it was her native tongue.  So we started asking questions.  Is she American?  African?  Where did she come from?  She is a fabulous entertainer and singer.  In the middle of the song while singing ‘Waray Waray’, she mentions that she and her daughter used to stay with Mr. and Mrs. Marcos when in the Philippines.  And whenever she has a concert, Mrs. Marcos would sit in the front  and yell out, “Eartha – sing ‘Waray Waray!”  She would oblige but every time she does, Mrs. Marcos couldn’t help but sing with her every time!!

I was determined to find out Eartha’ s history and I found it!  Wherelse?  Wikipedia!!
