Hmm – how about a Videoke bar?
This has been my dream for quite some time. I wanted to open a bar. Not just a bar, it will be a comedy bar like Punchline, Laughline, or Library back home in the Philippines. I have already done preliminary research on stuff that I would need and priced them so if I have to go to a bank and get a loan, I would have an idea how much exactly I’m going to need.
To other readers that do not know, I hosted a ‘Laitan sa Kamayan‘, at the Kamayan restaurant here in South Jersey. It was a way to help the owner advertise the newly opened restaurant. We just randomly setup a mock up stage and videoke – we were set to go. It was a huge success!!! To this day, I still see people whom I don’t even remember, ask me, “Where’s your next show?! ‘Cause we want to follow you – wherever you are – we will be there. Made me feel great!
Anyway, pricing for a location wasn’t that bad. Getting the proper location was the important part. Tables and bar stools are crucial part of pricing before I make the jump. Although liquor licensing in New Jersey is quite expensive, it will probably do without (just BYOB). As a matter of fact, Filipinos will be there regardless whether there’s alcohol or not – as long as there’s food! 
Anyway, I was surprised to find that you can price almost everything online. Take http://www.qualitybarstools.com. It is a good site to find your base if you are costing bar stools. It all depends on the type of bar you are going to open. Since mine will be a Videoke bar, I may go with wooden bar stools that would sit my guests comfortably. The price ranges from 60.00USD to 300.00USD. Unfortunately, the one that would fit my motif costs 300.00USD. These are great prices and sold at manufacturer’s discount when you purchase. The great thing about the site is that they have all types from Wood Bar Stools, to Aluminum Bar Stools. And the best thing – you can even build your own!!! You can customize your bar stools by choosing your fabric options and metal finish options.
