Arrrgghhh — when does maintenance stop?!
I have been in my home for approximately seven years to the month, next month. Yes – seven years. This was supposed to be my step-up house or starter house. But I think I’m stuck.
It’s not that I’m stuck. First, the housing market isn’t really that good right now. It is a buyer’s market as they say and I don’t want to sell now. Second, I love where I live. My neighborhood is the most gay-friendly neighborhood ever!
Recently, I’ve blogged about my maid moving in with me. Yes, she lives here now and it has been great so far. Breakfast in the morning, and she is suffering from OC (obsessive-compulsive), so she loves to clean. Clean clean clean! The best thing ever! So I really don’t mind if she takes a shower twice a day (or if her girlfriend does the same) – - she more than makes up for it by helping me clean the house and all that jazz.
One thing I noticed though while inspecting the bathroom, I noticed that my vanity sink is deteriorating. Not that anything is wrong with it but it has been here since the house was built in 1982. And remember the post that I did about my water bill? Yes, my maid found out that there is a leak coming from our toilets. Now, the faucet also needs to be replaced. Whew! Owning a home is nice but all these maintenance drive me up the wall!
I have always said in the past few months that I will not do any projects anymore for 2007. I am done and I am going to plan for all these projects next year. Yet, things just keep popping up like mad and I can’t help but fix them – otherwise if I let it go, I will have a water bill that would be out of this world!
So, my next project (arrrrgghhh!!) is to replace the vanity in the bathroom, fix the leak in the toilet and replace the shower faucet. No more ifs, ands or buts! Diwaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Let’s go to the hardware store next week!!!
