Reposting: Expats for Olympic Torchbearers - Beijing 2008
Due to the overwhelming response, I am re-posting the entry I had a couple of days ago. When I posted it, Marco Torres only had 453 votes including mine. Look what happened since! Goodness gracious! Thanks mga Kabayan! I knew I can count on you! 1092 votes!! That is well over 100% increase. SALAMAT ULIT SA MGA SUMOPORTA.
Just remember - we are now lagging behind a American Expat in China by 5000 votes, the Colombian is now in second place!

I picked up this story from one of my admired bloggers, Pinoyambisyoso.com and found this to be a great cause for all of us Pinoys out there. I wasn’t aware of this until I stumbled upon Pinoyambisyoso’s entry regarding the inclusion of expats in China to bear the torch during the Beijing Olympics 2008. A Filipino named Marco Torres is in the running and we need to help him win the votes. According to Pinoyambisyoso, we are lagging far behind in votes from a Columbian national living in China by about 4000 votes.
Kam on mga kabayan, yakang yaka natin i-out vote yan. Kung sa Miss Universe nga lagi tayong Miss Photogenic eh - - eto pa kaya. Let’s vote for our kabayan, Mr. Marco Torres, an ex-pat living in China. The original write-up by Lester Cavestany entitled “Suportahan Ta Ka (Vote for Marcos Torres as a Torchbearer in the 2008 Beijing Olympics)”. Let’s all get on the bandwagon and vote for him. (You should use IE as your browser as I had trouble voting using Firefox)
