Actress Rita Avila’s life goes on after losing son
Naniniwala ang aktres na si Rita Avila na kung para sa kanya ang isang bagay, ibibigay ito ng Panginoon. Sa mga nangyari sa buhay ng aktres, lalo ang pagkamatay ni Jesu—ang sanggol na kanyang iniluwal na pagkatapos ng ilang araw ay binawian na ng buhay—Rita goes on with her life, stronger than ever.
“Ilang buwan din ‘yon, nagkukulong lang ako sa bahay. Madalas nanonood ng TV, pero hindi pumapasok sa utak ko yung mga napapanood ko. Puro trabaho lang ako sa bahay that time para lumipas yung oras, basta may ginagawa lang.
“Hanggang naisip ko na lang, isang umaga, ano kaya kung pumunta naman ako sa mall at maglibang-libang? Ganoon lang. I just called some friends to accompany me, nagpaalam lang ako sa mister ko, and everything just went back to normal,” kuwento ni Rita sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
Malaki ang pasasalamat ni Rita sa mister niya na si Erik Reyes, a TV director, na very understanding. Inamin ni Rita na nagbubuhay-dalaga talaga siya these days and her husband doesn’t mind.
“I am blessed with a very kind husband,” sabi ni Rita. “Para nga kaming mag-syota lang. Nagde-date kami nang madalas. Wala na sa akin yung kung anumang pressure na dapat magkaanak pa rin kami. Maski kay Erik, nararamdaman niyang happy siya, kahit siguro wala kaming anak.
“May ibang plano siguro ang Diyos sa amin. Kagustuhan ‘yon ng Diyos, na kung ganoon man ang mangyayari, dapat sigurong tanggapin na lang namin.”
Sinabi rin ni Direk Erik sa PEP sa hiwalay na panayam na sa estado ni Rita, hindi naman talaga nito kailangang magtrabaho to earn a living. Kaya lang, naiintindihan ng mister ni Rita ang passion ng misis niya.
Paliwanag ni Rita, “Ito [acting] lang kasi ang talagang alam kong gawin at gusto ko. Kaya when I was able to gather myself, ang una kong tinawagan, si Malou [Choa-Fagar]. Ang sabi ko, ‘Please, Malou, give me work. I’m ready and willing to do it.’
“Yun lang at ilang araw lang, ‘ayun, naka-cast na ako sa Marimar. Pasulpot-sulpot lang ang character ko rito as the mother of Marian Rivera, pero masaya ako. Mababait at supportive ang mga kasama ko, kaya ganado akong magtrabaho,” kuwento ng aktres.
BATANES. Samantala, tinanggihan naman ni Rita ang isang mapanghamong papel sa Batanes, ang pelikulang idinidirek ni Adolf Alix na tinatampukan ni Iza Calzado at ng F4 member na si Ken Zhu. Mangangailangan kasi ito ng mahaba-habang shooting days na ilalagi nila sa mismong lalawigan ng Batanes.
“Gustuhin ko man, hindi kakayanin,” pahayag ni Rita. “May mga shooting days na masasagasaan yung taping ko sa Marimar, e, nauna ko namang commitment ‘yon.
“‘Yan kasi ang patakaran ko sa trabaho. Pinagtiwalaan ako ng GMA-7 ng regular na trabaho, kahit sabihin pang pasulpot-sulpot naman ako diyan, ang importante ay ang pagbibitaw ng salita.
“Katulad niyan, may dumating na trabahong gusto mo rin, pero masasagasaan yung nauna mong commitment. Doon ako sa nauna, isasakripisyo ko ang isa. It always happens, at ganoon lang palagi ang patakarang sinusunod ko.
“Kaya tumagal din ako sa industriyang ito dahil mahal ko ang trabaho ko. Bawat ibigay sa akin, minamahal ko and I give my one hundred percent. Hindi ‘yan dahil sa mas malaki ang bayad ng isa, o mas maganda ang exposure ko. I don’t work that way.
“Naiintindihan naman ni Direk Adolf yung situwasyon. I’m sure some other time, magkakatrabaho rin kami,” sabi pa ni Rita.
STUFFED DOLLS. May mga lumabas na balita noon na nahuhumaling na lang sila ng mister niya sa stuffed dolls na ginawa na nilang mga anak. Aware ba si Rita na may mga taong nag-iisip na sila’y may mga sayad?
“Ay, ganoon ba ‘yon?” natatawang sabi ni Rita. “Wala lang. Natutuwa lang kami doon sa stuffed toys na ‘yon na binigyan din namin ng panahon. Parang naglalaro lang naman kami noon.
“Ngayon nga, wala na ‘yon. Hindi na namin naasikaso at nakatago na lang sila. It wasn’t a serious phase in our life. Maybe some people made a big deal out of it, na ang feeling nila, naloloka na ako,” at lalo lang napahalakhak si Rita.
Nakikita nga naming ang ganda-ganda ni Rita ngayon, halatang inaalagaan nang husto ang sarili. Nagdyi-gym na nga siya regularly ngayon, na ayaw na ayaw niyang gawin noon.
“Ay, maganda ang effect sa akin, huh!” aliw na aliw si Rita. “Maganda sa katawan ang pagdyi-gym, lalo kung ganyang nagkakaedad na talaga ako. I make it a point, three times a week, nagpapapawis ako sa gym.
“Nakakaalis ng stress. Ano naman kaya ang itsitsismis nila kung pagdyi-gym ang nakakahiligan ko?” nasabi na lang ni Rita bilang pagwawakas.

Manny Pacquiao answers showbiz, boxing intrigues
After finishing off Mexican fighter Marco Antonio Barrera last October 6, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao now finds himself in a different battle—this time against showbiz intrigues, the issue of politicking, and a couple of verbal assaults coming from veteran news anchor Korina Sanchez.
SNUBBING MANILA? Many are accustomed to seeing a Manny Pacquiao parade along the busy streets of Manila after every victory. In fact, it is a given that Pacquiao’s itinerary upon return always includes a stopover at the country’s capital.
Not this time.
According to reports, Manny allegedly snubbed the preparations done by the Mañilenos as a tribute to his heroic ring exploits against the legendary Mexican boxer. Critics felt that the General Santos native opted to skip Manila because his ardent supporter and good friend, former Mayor Lito Atienza, was no longer holding office and that Pacquiao is not particularly fond of incumbent mayor, Alfredo Lim.
This theory was even bolstered when Manny paid a courtesy visit to Atienza, who is now at the helm of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), last October 11, Thursday.
“Secretary Lito Atienza is scheduled to host a heartwarming welcome party as it rolls out the red carpet to honor the homecoming of a boxing champion,” read a statement issued by the DENR dated October 10, 2007.
In an interview aired yesterday, October 14, in Showbiz Central, the Filipino prizefighter said that he was not aware that a Manila motorcade was being prepared in his honor upon his return from the United States.
“Alam mo, ako man hinihintay ko din ‘yong tawag nila, e. Hindi talaga sila tumawag sa akin. Bigla na lang ako na-surprise na sinabi nila na inisnab ko ‘yong paghahanda nila,” said Manny to Showbiz Central host John “Sweet” Lapus.
“Actually, wala naman silang ipinaalam sa akin. Ang totoo niyan, ba’t ko naman iisnabin ‘yong paghahanda nila? Kasi lahat ‘yan pinagbibigyan ko ‘yan. Naghanda ba talaga sila? Wala naman,” he added.
Manny’s statement, of course, contradicts initial reports saying that Mayor Alfredo Lim received a text message coming from Manny’s business manager, Eric Pineda, informing him as well as the other officials that the WBC international super featherweight champion will not grace the planned motorcade because of a prior commitment.
To contest the claims made by Pacquiao’s camp, Manila City Administrator Jesus Mari Marzan reportedly even showed ABS-CBN a furnished copy of the proposed parade route. Preparations for the celebration allegedly took place immediately after Manny’s conquest of Barrera.
For his part, Manny expressed sadness that the people of Manila weren’t able to watch his fight. According to Manny, he was perplexed on why the local officials scrapped off the practice of setting up a huge screen to enable the less-privileged to witness the match for free.
“Ako’y nalulungkot dahil hindi nila napanood, e…‘yon lang ang kaligayahan ng mga tao e,” he reasoned out.
ARA MINA. Even before Manny left for the States to resume his training in preparation for the Barrera duel, there were rumors circulating around town that he is carrying an illicit affair with sexy actress Ara Mina, who incidentally is being paired with him in an upcoming movie.
Aside from the alleged affair, there was also this rumor saying that Manny paid for Ara’s new house and even bought her a new car.
“May movie lang kami,” answered Manny, downplaying the issue while at the same time implying that the rumors were all fabricated.
“Alam n’yo na pag may ganyan may mga intri-intriga,” smiled Manny before shifting his attention to his wife Jinky, who was seated beside him during the interview. “Pasalamat naman ako sa asawa ko na talagang mahaba ‘yong pagpasensiya niya and naiintindihan niya.”
FEUD WITH KORINA. But Manny’s toughest battle outside the ring is reserved for popular TV news anchor Korina Sanchez.
In her morning radio news program with Ted Failon, Korina reportedly threw out a litany of diatribes against the Pinoy boxer last October 12.
Apparently, Korina’s ire was triggered by the series of text messages they received that day coming from the Manileños who were obviously disappointed by Manny’s non-show at the supposed parade.
Sympathizing with the listeners, the feisty anchorwoman reportedly blew her top. She revealed that Manny allegedly attempted to ease out a reporter from his job for a news item Manny didn’t like at the height of the election campaign early this year.
“Tungkol ‘yon sa isang dokumentong nakuha ng reporter na bagsak si Manny sa survey, malaki ang kalamangan sa kanya ni Congresswoman Darlene Antonino-Custodio,” Korina reportedly announced.
“Ibinalita ‘yon ng reporter, nagalit si Manny, sinisiraan daw siya nung reporter. Walang paninira dun dahil galing naman sa GenSan ang dokumento, pero para mapagbigyan ang kampo ni Manny, hinintay niya ang ipadadalang survey raw ni Manny mula sa kanilang kampo,” she added.
According to Korina, Manny’s camp failed to present a document indicating a different result.
Korina further added: “Aba, itong si Manny Pacquiao, gustong ipatanggal ang reporter sa kanyang trabaho! Wala raw utang na loob ang reporter na ‘yon, dahil anytime siyang gustong interbyuhin, e, pinagbibigyan niya naman ang reporter.
“I agree that Manny Pacquiao is the greatest boxer that the Philippines has ever produced, pero si Manny rin ang Pilipinong boksingerong mayabang, arogante, at madaling nadala ng kanyang tagumpay.”
After venting her ire, the radio show was said to be plagued with phone calls coming from the listeners, demanding the real identity of the aggrieved reporter. Korina, however, was defiant all throughout and refused to name the reporter.
Meanwhile, a veteran showbiz reporter courageously wrote in her column yesterday, October 14, that the lady reporter in question was Korina Sanchez herself.
MANNY’S REPLY. Showbiz Central also asked Manny about the said issue and his tiff with Korina which threatens to be an explosive one.
“Hindi ko alam kung bakit mainit ang dugo niya sa akin, e, wala naman akong ginawang masama,” said Manny in a separate taped interview.
Hindi naman ako nang-agrabyado ng tao. Hindi naman ako nanloko ng tao… hindi ko alam kung bakit sila magalit sa akin,” the southpaw boxer added in a controlled tone.

Paolo Ballesteros is Zaido’s Ida
Other than the main two protagonists of the old Shaider, the character most people associate with the show is the gender-bending grandson of the lead antagonist: Ida.
In the GMA incarnation of the franchise, Paolo Ballesteros dons the headdress and becomes Zaido’s Ida. What does he bring to the role? And why did he accept the role in the first place?
Paolo Ballesteros cleared that the reason he accepted the role of Ida was because of the challenge it poses to him as an actor.
He explained, “Nung unang sinabi sa akin na kasali raw ako sa Zaido, inisip ko anong role.” When it was revealed to him that he was being offered the role of Ida, he was confused.
“The first thing na pumasok sa isip ko nung sinabing Ida, (ay) ‘yung papaano niya sabihin ‘yung ‘Time Space Warp, ngayon din!’ Sabi ko, ‘di ba, babae ‘yun?”
Paolo said that because of the offer, he researched the character and found out, to his surprise, that Ida is in fact a man. He scoured the Internet for clips of the old series just to find out for certain. “Kasi, parang hindi ako makapaniwala na lalaki pala si Ida. Kasi ‘di ba, nung pinalabas sa atin, ‘yung voice niya (pambabae)?
“So ako, parang, ah okay. At least mas challenging, sabi nga nila, dahil magpo-portray (ako) ng kakaiba. Tapos ‘yun nga, ‘yung boses iba. It’s not the usual na kontrabida kasi hindi siya lalaki, hindi rin siya babae.
Even after his initial apprehension, Paolo still felt a little nervous about the role — especially because a lot of fans are familiar with the Philippine-dubbed voice.
To make sure he gets it correctly, he watched the available clips of the original series online and tried his best to imitate the voice. “Ayun, pinanood ko ‘yung babaeng voice na dito lang sa Pilipinas. Tapos, pinanood ko rin ‘yung Japanese voice niya. Bale, ‘yung pinaka-preparation ko (is) pina-practice ko ‘yung voice niya.
“When I got the script, binabasa ko (na) ‘yung mga lines niya. Tinitignan ko kung paano ko siya pwedeng i-deliver.”
Paolo shared that he had a hard time with Ida at first. After all, the character is a transvestite who doesn’t show a lot of emotion, whereas actors bank on showing their emotions to show their acting range. “So pina-practice ko ‘yung lines ko using the voice, kung paano sasabihin (ni Ida.)”
To really prepare for the role, Paolo laughed as he revealed that he did most of his training in front of his bathroom mirror, copying Ida’s deadpan delivery and voice.
Miss Mexico wins Miss International 2007; Miss Philippines fails to make it in the semi-finals
Si Priscila Perales ng Mexico ang nagwagi sa 47th Miss International Pageant na ginanap sa Tokyo, Japan noong nakaraang Lunes, October 15. Tinalo ni Priscila ang more than 60 beautiful candidates from all over the world. Ang naging runners-up ay sina Miss Greece Despina Vlepaki (1st runner-up) at Miss Belarus Yulia Sindzeyeva (2nd runner up).
Naging semi-finalists sa Miss Universe last year si Priscila kaya naman may experience na siya sa ganitong kalaking beauty pageants. She made history dahil siya ang first Mexican beauty na manalo ng Miss International.
Sadly, ang representative ng Pilipinas na si Nadia Lee Shami failed to make it even in the Top 15 semi-finalists. Ito ang second year na hindi nakaabante ang representative natin since nanalo ang Miss Philippines na si Precious Lara Quigaman noong 2005.
Fist time naman magpadala ng representative ang bansang Belarus at kaagad itong nakapasok at naging 2nd runner-up pa.
Ang iba pang nakapasok sa Top 15 ay ang mga candidates mula sa Chile, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, Turkey, and Venezuela.
Nakakuha naman ng special awards sina Miss Japan Hisako Shirata, Miss Photogenic; Miss Aruba Jonella Oduber, Best In National Costume; at Miss Hong Kong Grace Wong, Miss Friendship.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez narrates to Preview magazine her experiences since the start of her singing career.
One of the best-known success stories in showbiz belongs to Regine Velasquez. She started out in amateur singing competitions and kept reinventing herself throughout her career. Now looked up to as one of the biggest names in the music industry, Asia’s Songbird has become the prime example of how hard work pays off.
“I’ve worked really hard. I’ve done a lot of things in my desire to grow as an artist,” she shares with Preview magazine (October issue), which she graces for the first time. Her hard work has more than paid off, but Regine remains down to earth. “Nakatulong rin talaga ang pagka-probinsyana ko. I really started from scratch.”
The cover shoot for Preview magazine took place at the Villamor Air Base. Regine—dressed in long, bode-fitting gowns inspired by the movie The Aviator—is shown climbing steel scaffolds and improvised stages, made of wooden planks on steel, to get to the top of a grand old YS-11 turbo-prop. The grand old airplane serves as backdrop for many of her stunning photographs. It seems an uncomfortable, glamorless task, but Regine gets the job done, and beautifully.
Regine has plans of slowing down eventually. “For many years now, I’ve concentrated solely on my career,” she says, citing the work that she has done for herself and for other artists as well. “The funny thing is, when I was starting, I told myself that I will do everything now and when I feel ready, I will stop and have a family. I still want that now.”
As Regine herself started from humble beginnings and worked hard to make a name for herself, so do the 26 Pinoy artists featured in Preview‘s annual Creative It-List. Rufa Mae Quinto inspired to produce more movies after success of first venture
Nagpaalam muna sa shooting ng Pasukob ng OctoArts Films si Rufa Mae Quinto para sa victory lunch na ibinigay niya at ng Viva Films dahil sa success ng co-production venture nila, ang Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat na nagtatampok sa kanila nina Eugene Domingo, Pokwang, at Candy Pangilinan. Ginanap ang victory party sa Ortigas Bazaar Center, Pasig City, kahapon, October 16.
Na-inspire ba si Rufa Mae sa success ng movie para mag-produce muli?
“Opo,” sagot ni Rufa Mae sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). “Ang sarap ng feeling bilang artista at producer. Kaya gusto ko nang ituloy ito, bale ito ang sarili kong business. Kasi yung ibang business ko, like yung travel agency ko, yung brother ko ang nagma-manage noon. Yung iba pa, may sarili nang nagma-manage noon, ito na lang ang sa akin.
“Itutuloy ko pa rin ang pagko-co-produce ko sa Viva. Pero nag-usap na kami ni Direk Wenn, may story na siya na puwede kong i-produce nang solo. Baka po next year na ‘yon kasi tinatapos pa namin ni Ai-Ai ang Pasukob at magsisimula na rin kaming mag-shooting ng Working Girls ’08 for Viva Films.”
May nag-suggest kay Rufa Mae na since may travel agency siya, bakit hindi siya gumawa ng movie sa iba’t ibang lugar abroad. Maganda raw ang suggestion, ani Rufa Mae, pag-aaralan daw niya.
Isa pa lang ang ginagawa niyang movie this year, pero wala pa rin daw gaanong pahinga si Rufa Mae.
“Hindi rin po. Sa ngayon po kasi, lima na ang TV shows ko [sa GMA-7],” sambit niya.
Binanggit ni Rufa Mae ang mga shows niyang Bubble Gang, Showbiz Central, Whammy Push Your Luck, SOP, at Marimar kung saan siya ang nagbu-voice over sa asong si Fifi.
ERIK SANTOS. Sa Friday, October 19, ay gaganapin ang concert ng ex-boyfriend ni Rufa Mae na si Erik Santos na may titulong Erik Santos…Solo at the Coliseum 2007. Ang wish daw ni Erik ay makita niyang nakaupo sa front row ng orchestra si Rufa Mae.
Manonood ba siya ng concert ni Erik?
“Yes. Kung gusto niya, sa tabi pa ako ng stage at payag akong maging water girl niya,” seryosong sagot ni Rufa Mae.
“Susuportahan ko siya talaga, sinuportahan nga niya ako dito sa movie namin nang mag-attend siya ng celebrity premiere night kahit alam kong very busy siya. Tumuloy siya sa dinner namin, pero hindi siya nagtagal. Naintindihan ko siya dahil bago lahat ang mga songs na kakantahin niya sa concert kaya kailangang pag-aralan niya. Kaya nga hindi ko siya iniistorbo.”
May nagsasabing ginagamit ni Erik si Rufa Mae at si Billy Crawford para pag-usapan ang concert nito, dahil may sinabi pa itong nagseselos ang male singer kay Billy. May dapat bang ipagselos talaga si Erik?
“Wala po,” sagot ni Rufa Mae. “Nag-meet nga sila nang personal noong celebrity premiere night, hanggang doon sa dinner. Hindi ako naniniwala na ginagamit kami ni Erik. Kasi po, kung mayroon lang siyang choice, siguro ang gusto niyang itanong sa kanya, kung ano ba ang aasahan sa concert niya, hindi ang tungkol sa akin at kay Billy. Hindi naman puwedeng hindi niya sagutin ang mga itinatanong sa kanya.”
May issue na ibinibenta na ni Erik sa kanya ang lote nila sa West Grove sa Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Ano ang masasabi ni Rufa Mae rito?
“Noong nag-break kasi kami, sabi ko sa kanya, ibenta na niya sa akin ‘yong lote niya. Magkatabi kasi kami ng lote ni Erik, bale tig-500 sq.m. kami. Nang mabili namin ‘yon, worth ten-thousand pesos lang per sq.m. pero ngayon daw, P12,000 na. Noong una, parang gusto na niyang ibenta sa akin, pero ngayon daw, ayaw na niya. Itutuloy na raw niya ang paghuhulog nito sa bangko,” kuwento ng sexy comedienne.
May pag-asa pa ba silang magkabalikan ni Erik?
“Sana po,” asam niya. “Hanggang ngayon, wala pa naman siyang kapalit sa puso ko. Pero mga bata pa naman kami, kaya mas mabuting gawin na muna namin ang gusto naming dahil pareho kaming busy sa aming mga career. Saka mag-uusap pa po kami after his concert. Nagpi-pray po akong maging very successful ang concert niya.”

Witnesses dispute Lolit Solis’s story about Piolo and Sam
Yesterday, October 15, talent manager and TV host Lolit Solis wrote in her Pilipino Star Ngayon column that she saw two male celebrities together in the Treasure Island coffee shop located at the Sofitel Hotel in Manila. She revealed those two male celebrities as Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby. Manay Lolit also added that she saw the two acting sweet with each other while exchanging whispers.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to obtain two separate statements from a Timex representative and a staff from Treasure Island coffee shop—the poolside coffee shop where Manay Solis was supposed to have seen Piolo and Sam together.
The staff from Treasure Island coffee shop claimed to have neither seen Piolo or Sam during her shift from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. as opposed to Lolit’s story that she saw Piolo and Sam at around 4 p.m.
Another defense came in the form of Gemma Pagsibingan, product manager for Timex, a watch brand endorsed by Piolo. They sent in their statement through a text message in justification of Piolo’s whereabouts during the time Manay Lolit was supposed to have seen the actor with Sam.
According to Gemma, “Hmmm, how could that be possible? Piolo’s call time for the timex shoot was 4 p.m., but as usual, Piolo was early and came to the shoot at 3:30 p.m. at Raymund Isaac’s studio in Makati. There were 20-25 people, including another Timex endorser Angel Locsin, at that time. Ang nakita naming sweet ay ang photos nina Piolo-Angel together.”
Gemma also added, “That’s the truth. Kawawa naman si Piolo. In fact, I was worried that he came early again kasi maghihintay siya. But ganoon talaga ‘yon. One shoot nga, nauna pa siya sa aming lahat. You can ask even the fotog, Raymund. Even if you ask each one in the shoot, they would say the same thing.”
Meanwhile, PEP also managed to get a statement from the camp of Manay Lolit. The feisty talent manager is standing by what she saw.
“Siguradong-sigurado ako. Nakasalamin ako, pero malinaw ang mga mata ko,” said Manay Lolit to an entertainment writer when asked if she was sure that it were Piolo and Sam she saw that afternoon.
“Wala namang masama kung kumain o lumabas ang dalawang lalake, kasi ginagawa rin naman ‘yan nina Bong [Revilla] at Rudy [Fernandez]. Normal lang naman ‘yon. Nagulat lang ako nang nagmamadali silang umalis nang marinig nilang [Piolo and Sam] tinawag ng waiter ang pangalan ko.” (Bong and Rudy are Manay Lolit’s wards).
Manay Lolit went on to say that the waiter of Treasure Island coffee shop even told her that Piolo and Sam are frequent visitors of their place.

Isang reliable source na malapit kay Ethel Booba ang nagsabi sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na nagbago ulit ng isip ang comedienne. Papasok na siya sa second season ng Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition.
Ayon sa aming source ay tama naman ang nasulat na nag-back out si Ethel sa araw na dapat ay papasok na siya sa Bahay Ni Kuya. Bukod sa nabigla raw ito sa pagsundo sa kanya, may ilang personal na problema na hinaharap si Ethel noong araw na ‘yon.
Kuwento ng aming source ay nagkasabay ang pagkakaroon ng away ni Ethel sa kanyang boyfriend na si Janvier Daily at sa kanyang kapatid na si Boobita.
“Hindi kasi maatim ni Ethel na papasok siya sa Bahay Ni Kuya knowing na may mga problema siya na maiiwan,” sabi ng aming source. “Gusto niya sana bago siya pumasok sa Bahay Ni Kuya ay maayos muna lahat ng mga problema niya para hindi siya nagwu-worry. Kapag nag-alala raw siya habang nasa loob siya, baka hindi niya makayanan at bigla siyang lumabas. Baka madagdagan pa ang mga problema niya, if ever.”
Ayon pa sa source ng PEP ay hindi raw maganda ang naging huling pakikipag-usap ni Ethel sa kanyang boyfriend. Ayaw raw pumayag ni Janvier na pumasok sa Big Brother house ang comedienne dahil dalawang buwan silang magkakahiwalay kung magtagal doon si Ethel. Plus, may ibang mga lalake raw sa loob ng Bahay Ni Kuya. Feeling ni Janvier ay baka ma-attract si Ethel sa ibang male celebrity housemates.
“May pagkaseloso kasi si Janvier,” sabi ng aming source. “Kaya nag-away sila ni Ethel the night before na dapat siya pumasok sa Bahay Ni Kuya. Masyadong dinamdam ‘yon ni Ethel kaya urong-sulong siya sa pagpasok.
“Yung tungkol naman kay Boobita, as usual, problema sa pamilya ang dahilan. Gusto kasing makausap ni Ethel si Boobita pero nasa isang out-of-town raket ito kaya walang paraan para sila magkausap. Gusto ni Ethel na maayos ang mga kapamilya niya bago niya ito iwan ng matagal.”
Kung paniniwalaan ang mga balita, tila naniniwala si Ethel na may relasyon si Boobita at ang kanyang ex-boyfriend na si Alex Crisano.
Hindi na raw umaasa si Ethel na papapasukin pa siya sa Bahay Ni Kuya dahil sa gulo na dinala niya. Tutal sa hindi niya pagpasok, wala pang masasabing commitment sa show, though ang mas napahiya raw ay ang mga taong nagma-manage ng career niya.
Pero good news nga for Ethel dahil hindi raw nag-give up ang PBB staff sa kanya. Tinanong pa rin nila kung okay na si Ethel to enter the Big Brother house. Napag-alaman kasi nila na naayos din ni Ethel ang nasabing mga problema niya.
Siniguro muna sa mga nagma-manage kay Ethel kung gusto na ba nitong pumasok sa Bahay Ni Kuya. Kung ‘yes’ ang sagot, commitment na ‘yon at wala nang pag-urong. Kung ‘no’ pa rin, hindi na siya pipilitin pa.
Sumagot daw ng “yes” si Ethel, which means fully committed na siya sa pagsali sa Bahay Ni Kuya. Ang tanong ay kung totoo na ba ang binitawan na salita na ito ni Ethel?
Sabi ng aming source, abangan na lang daw kung totoo ngang papasok si Ethel o hindi. Knowing Ethel ay baka mag-iba na naman ang isip nito at baka isipin naman niya this time ang mga raket na mawawala sa kanya kapag nasa loob na siya ng Bahay Ni Kuya.
Kung walang pagbabago, bukas na papasok sa Bahay ni Kuya si Ethel.
