Lolit Solis apologizes to Sam and Piolo but refuses to retract article
Lolit Solis apologized earlier this afternoon, October 27, to Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual during the GMA-7 showbiz talk show. She was interviewed by Startalk co-hosts Lorna Tolentino and Butch Francisco.
The veteran reporter wrote in her Pilipino Star Ngayon column last October 15 that she saw the two matinee idols seated closely together at the poolside coffee shop of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel in Pasay City on October 12. Last Sunday, actor Sam Milby told the public that he would sue Lolit unless she issued a public apology and retracted her article published in the said tabloid.
In response to Sam’s statement, Lolit Solis wrote another article, this time saying that she is ready for any court case that the American citizen would file. Of course, the columnist was referring to Sam, who immediately pointed out that he has a dual citizenship.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) published the demand letter sent by Sam and Piolo’s lawyers on Friday, October 26, which stated that Lolit has only ten days to “dispel the negative impression created by your [Lolit's] libelous article.” The letter was read through voice-over in Startalk.
During the talk show, Lolit satirically thanked the messenger of the Rayala Alonso and Partners law firm for delivering the demand letter on a Saturday, October 27. Lolit then showed the unopened envelope to her co-hosts, Lorna Tolentino and Butch Francisco. “Kumbaga, nauna pa yung radyo. Nauna pa yung print. Meron na sila kaagad na kopya. E, wala pa akong kopya,” Lolit pointed out.
Asked for her initial reaction to the demand letter, “Yung apology siguro madali. Kasi kung talagang nasaktan sila…nagkaroon ng anu-anong balita dahil doon sa i-kuwinento ko…
“Okay sa akin. I’m sorry. I apologize. Pero retract sa kanila, kasi kung ano nakita ko kasi yun yung talagang sinabi ko. Ang pagkakamali ko nga lang, e, bakit ikuwinento ko pa yung nakita ko.”
The feisty talent manager reiterated her stand that she is ready for any court case filed against her. “May lawyer sila, may lawyer din naman ako.”
Lolit remains confident about what she saw that day at the poolside of Sofitel.
“Hindi ko ipaglalaban ang isang bagay na alam kong kaya kong labanan kasi ako mismo ang naka-saksi. Kung hindi ko sila nakita ng sarili kong mata, or halimbawa may nagsabi lang sa akin, ‘Ate Lolit, nakita ko si Sam at si Piolo.’ Hindi ako magkakaroon ng ganitong lakas ng loob. Pero dahil ako mismo ang nakakita, malakas ang loob ko.”
The columnist-talent manager-TV host gave her message to the two matinee idols:
“Piolo at Sam, kilala ko lang kayo sa pangalan dahil ‘di ko pa naman kayo naka-sama sa kahit anong project. Pero heto ang masasabi ko sa inyo. I’m very, very sorry na nasaktan kayo. Hindi ko akalain na ganito ang mangyayari doon sa pagkwe-kuwento ko na ‘Uy, alam mo nakita ko si Sam at Piolo nag-bubulungan.’ Tapos ganito ang mangyayari.
“Hindi ko talaga akalain na ganito ang mangyayari, magkakaraoon ng ganitong malisya. Doon nag-so-sorry ako. Pero hindi ko na ma-re-retract yung sinabi ko dahil nakita ko kayo,” Lolit stressed.

Look! you read….you watch on tv ang mga kasinungalingan ni Lolit Solis and you have this Sam Milby – a new comer testified that hindi totoong naroon siya sa sinasabing lugar ng babaeng sinungaling and there were these several people who confirmed Sam’s allegations were TRUE at itong si Lolit Solis naman hindi nagkakatugma-tugma ang mga sinasabi sa interviews niya. Kapag hindi pansinin ang issue lalabas na naka-scoop siya. She is an irresponsible writer and should be stopped.
If I were Sam, I will sue her and let her pay millions for moral damages or put behind bars. Ang dami na niyang sinirang pangalan sa industriya.
And you, “kiwipinay” magbasa ka and analyze yourself kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo at hindi ‘yong naririnig at pala-palagay mo lang. Be smart and don’t be judgemental unless you can prove it yourself.
For the sake of public’s peace of mind, pwede bang ipa- lie detector nyo na lang sina Lolit, Sam & Piolo so the truth shall prevail. The public do not deserve writers or actors in disguise. Kung talagang nakita, eh diy nakita pero wag bigyan ng malisya kung usap or bulungan lang. Pwede naman magbulungan kahit sinong magkaibigan babae or lalaki man? Pero kung super sweet, ibang usapan na iyon. Kung bakla talaga and they are just trying to protect themselves for the sake of their career, well..let the public decide coz’ they can fool us for some time but not all the time.
Gina: anong huwag bigyan ng malisya ang salitang “LAMPUNGAN” na isinulat ni Lolit Solis? Dapat si Solis ang ipa-lie-detector test dahil siya ang gumawa ng kasinungalingan sa dalawang taong nananahimik. That is libel at character assasination. Yes! what’s wrong being together, mag-usap at magbulungan – babae’t lalaki o parehong lalaki? pero isinulat niyang may panghusga, may paninira sa pagkatao ng iba. Proven nang sinungaling at mandaraya ang babaeng ‘yan – dapat siya makulong! Ikaw rin dapat magpa-lie-detector dahil bias ka sa paniniwala mo.
I URGE SAM & PIOLO TO PURSUE THAT LIBEL SUIT AGAINST LOLITA SOLIS. Irresponsible writing should be stopped. LOLITA SOLIS deserves to be put behind bars. Kumita lang ng pera hindi na inisip ang kapakanan ng iba. She has no place in the show business industry.
