Successful Teleserye “Maging Sino Ka Man” due back on December 10th.

maging_sino_ka_man.jpg

The highly anticipated return of ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ teleserye is about to begin on December 10th. I am sure a lot of fans have been waiting to watch John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo team up again with an all-star cast that include Christopher de Leon, Phillip Salavador, Rosana Roces, Anne Curtis, Sam Milby and many more. This would be another hit I suppose. I enjoy watching John Lloyd Cruz and with the support of Christopher de Leon and other veterans, there is no doubt about its success.

Second film festival entry ni Katrina ang Shake, Rattle & Roll 9 after last year’s Super Noypi. Third movie naman niya ito after her launching film Gigil and this is also her first horror movie.

When does a blogger decide to host their blog and own a domain?

I am a real advocate of my hosting company. I normally suggest that they go with the company that I’m with just because I haven’t really encountered anything that they did to annoy me. ;) So far so good. But I just heard that hosting is becoming cheaper and cheaper now because hosting companies start up every day. This is good news for you and me as bloggers don’t you think? Hosting costs can take a big chunk of cash out of your pocket if you don’t know how to shop.

I went with my hosting company before because it is word-of-mouth. The blogger that I know recommended that I use them so I did. The tools are already included such as Wordpress for blogging and Zen Cart for my e-commerce website. I wasn’t really blogging full time and I mainly went with my hosting company to host my store. But since I am hosting my store and have all the space I available for me to blog – I started blogging.

You can find many web hosting plans available but if you are a starter, you may want to go with a company who doesn’t have contracts. I had to pay for a minimum of two years for mine to get the rate that I have which is $6.95 per month. The hosting site that I am talking about (http://tophostingcenter.com) only charges $4.95 per month with the same service and plan that I am with my hosting company today. And you don’t have to be tied to them. You can be on a month-to-month plan. They also have Wordpress and Zen Cart built in as well!! Now, to me – that’s a bargain. They provide 24/7 support, provide AWStats which is an open source Web analytics reporting tool, suitable for analyzing data from Internet services such as web, streaming media, mail and FTP servers. AWstats parses and analyzes server log files, producing HTML reports. You can hit the ground running if you’re a blogger cause they offer b2evolution, FeedonFeeds and WordPress for your blogging needs.

Remember too that if you want to succeed and earn an income while blogging – it is better to host your site and have your own domain rather than participating in any of the free blog services out there. Just weigh your advantages and disadvantages and you’ll see that hosting your blog and owning your own domain makes a big difference in blogging income. Get started and start looking at web hosting plans now!

TV Ratings (Nov. 29-Dec. 2): Coup threat shakes Nov. 29 ratings; “Enteng Kabisote 3″ upstages FPJ movie

trillanes.jpg

This was what I had expected last week due to the seige. I didn’t think people will still have their faces plastered in front of their televisions watching their preferred ‘teleserye’ when the country is in crisis. We’re just glad that it’s all over. Why can’t people just unite as one and move the country towards progress and put the effort in ending poverty instead of grabbing power? Will this ever change?

-Chuva Chienes

The Makati standoff led by Senator Antonio Trillanes last Thursday, November 29, held the daytime programming hostage. Coverage of the highly tense situation dominated the top two spots in the ratings game with ABS-CBN’s News Patrol leading the way with 27.1 percent, while GMA News followed closely with 26.5 percent.

Because of this development, Eat Bulaga! was relegated to the third place with 25.3 percent. Willie Revillame’s Wowowee came in at fourth with 22.1 percent.

Notably, two morning talk shows—SiS and Boy & Kris—benefitted from the Manila Peninsula scuffle. The show of Janice de Belen, Carmina Villarroel, and Gelli de Belen registered a 14.1 percent grade. Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino’s morning show also held their own, gathering a 13.4 percent rating to barge inside the winning column.

The rest of the afternoon programs had to be scrapped to give way to the Manila Pen standoff.

Not much has changed in the primetime competition, although La Vendetta’s slide to the No.8 position was highly noticeable. Pangarap na Bituin (26 percent), Princess Sarah (25.5 percent), and Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 all ganged up on the suspense-drama series to own the fifth, sixth, and seventh spot, respectively.

Everything returned to normal the following day, November 30, and Eat Bulaga! reclaimed the throne. Registering a 21.2 percent rating, the country’s longest-running noontime show dealt Whammy! Push Your Luck a telling blow. Settling for No. 2, Rufa Mae Quinto and Paolo Bediones’s game show amassed a rating of 19.1 percent.

Saturday, December 1, was Vic Sotto Day. Kapuso Sine featuring the third installment of Enteng Kabisote reigned in the daytime race as proven by its 27.5 percent showing. Eat Bulaga! which is being co-hosted by Vic, settled at No. 2 with its 23.6 percent rating.

ABS-CBN”s Cinema FPJ (16.9 percent) claimed the third spot while Wowowee and Super Inggo 1.5, bearing a similar 16.7 percent rating, hung on to fourth place.

Bitoy’s Funniest Video’s remained spotless in the primetime category. Bolstered by its 33.7 percent rating, Michael V has once again proven that he owns Saturday evenings.

December 2, Sunday, saw ABS-CBN scoring a knockout, thanks to the strong showing of the Donaire versus Maldonado boxing bout. The match, dubbed as Affirmation, collected a 17.7 percent grade, which was more than enough for a triumph over the other daytime programs.

Not to be outdone, Kay Susan Tayo showed enough grit to challenge the boxing event. With a 14 percent rating, Susan Enriquez’s infotainment show grabbed the No. 2 spot and even upstaged ASAP 07’s 12.6 rating.

Showbiz Central trounced close rival The Buzz with a manageable margin. For the week, Kapuso network’s showbiz talk show tallied 12.3 percent rating as compared to its competitor’s 11.6 percent.

Primetime Sunday was again on a standstill with Tok! Tok! Tok! leading the way anew with a 25. 1 percent rating.

Here are the Top 10 shows for daytime and primetime programming from November 29 to December 2 according to the overnight ratings conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households:

Why go online to pick an engagement ring?

Holy smokes! I was so excited for my neighbor when she told me that she got engaged. Well, I knew it already but I had to pretend that I was surprised because her boyfriend consulted me while he was shopping for a ring. The ring that she wanted was out of this world and it looks amazing! It is made with 1.5 carat diamond in an antique setting… it’s gorgeous.

In case you didn’t know, I live right at the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, a skip and a jump over the bridge to Philadelphia. In the heart of Philadelphia lies America’s oldest diamond district called ‘The Jeweler’s Row’. It is world famous and established in the year 1851. I walk these streets daily on my way to work as I take the train going in. I walk from 8th and Market to 5th and Walnut Streets and the streets are laid in cobblestones which is very historic. The Jeweler’s row on Sansom Street between 7th and 8th Streets, on walking distance from the new Pennsylvania Convention Center and Independence Hall. Lined up in that row are hundreds of independent jewelers and you can pick and choose which one you can deal with. I heard that due to the competition within, you can really obtain a high-quality diamond for a real great price!

My neighbor didn’t go the traditional way however, he didn’t go to Jeweler’s Row for his girlfriend’s engagement ring. Her wish was a ring with antique setting and the design alone could cost him an arm and a leg. So he went online and looked for custom engagement rings. He was amazed to find so much information to digest regarding custom-made rings than he thought. It has to do with the Carat, Cut, Colour and clarity. The 4 Cs as they say in Jeweler’s terms. 3 out of the 4cs are provided by nature – the last C requires the perfect human touch.

Engage Diamond Studio’s website can educate you and inform you before you make that decision. Like their site says, a commitment should be expressed with ease. And it should be. It’s stressful enough to prepare for how, when and where you’re going to propose – having this site available with all these information surely takes the stress away.

If you’re looking for an investment and love jewelries.. Diamonds do indeed – last forever.

Judy Ann Santos talks about her projects for 2008

juday.jpg

She is a busy bee isn’t she? She has been compared to the stardom that Miss Mega held when she was her age but I think it’s still miles away from Mega Sharon. Juday does have the appeal but I think she is a bit more vocal than Sharon. Although, Mega has endorsed Juday all the way so who knows??

– Chuva Chienes

Gomes believes that excessive focus on the Bible and doctrines about Jesus have led the Christian church astray. “What did Jesus preach?” asks Gomes. “Bahay Kubo” and “Desperadas” will open on their original playdates

chuvachienes on Uncategorized

tv_ratings6.jpg

I highly anticipate watching both of these movies. I cannot wait for these to come out on DVD. I usually order the DVD’s as soon as they are released. I wish they would offer pre-release orders just like U.S. vendors. It surely be part of my collection.

– Chuva Chienes.

Both directed by Joel Lamangan, Bahay Kubo stars Maricel Soriano, Eric Quizon, Marian Rivera, Yasmien Kurdi, Shaina Magdayao, Mark Herras, Rayver Cruz, Jiro Manio, Bearwin Meily, and Eugene Domingo; samantalang bida naman sina Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado, at Marian sa Desperadas.

My buddy and I like to save money…

My best friend is not a cheapskate. He is frugal but not cheap. We actually influence each other in our financial dealings. He likes saving money and so do I. So whenever I discover something that could help him save money, I try to encourage him to take it on as well. For example, if I find a good deal on cable subscription — he’s usually the first one I call and we will both switch cable companies.

In his case, he does the same thing. We deal with anything financial together including our investments. He is very generous, don’t get me wrong but we both like saving money and will go far if we need to just so we can stretch the value of our money. One time he called me and told me that I should switch my standard phone service to VoIP. This new technology could save me tons of cash in the long run because they provide unlimited long distance calls to Canada and Puerto Rico. I pay 25.00USD for my basice service with Verizon today and that doesn’t even include all the amenities VoIP provide like free caller ID, call waiting, etc. These are all included if I switch to VoIP service.

Most VoIP companies even offer promotions like free for the first month so you can test it out. No commitments, just test it out and let me know what you find. My buddy is very pleased with his VoIP service that he recommends that I switch. Hey, with a free first month of service and lower monthly rates – why not?

Mariel Rodriguez apologizes for her negative comments inside PBB house

I wonder if this is a good publicity for PBB, now that we know that some of the things that they do inside the house are set-up. Well, not so that it was set-up because the housemates probably didn’t know what Mariel’s role was when she entered PBB. It just seems tricky but I guess it makes the show more interesting. Fun!

- Chuva Chienes

Natutuwa that I’m here. I still can’t believe na I experience all that in seven weeks,” umpisa ni Mariel nang hingan ng reaksiyon pagkatapos mapanood ang VTR.

Yung ganun. Kasi, I really, really felt like I was really close to him, sobra, nung buong time na nasa loob ako.”

May mga natutuwa sa pagiging prangka ni Mariel sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, but at the same time, may mga naiinis din sa kanya.

“Yeah, actually, this morning my Yaya gave me a copy of this tabloid. ‘Tapos binasa ko siya. ‘Tapos, I was really parang shock na ganun yung… I’m really gonna be honest like, right now, I still don’t know how I feel about it and I’m gonna take it one step at a time. Pero ngayon pa lang, gusto ko munang mag-apologize,” pahayag ni Mariel.

“KADIRI” ISSUE. Bakit niya sinabi na “kadiri ang showbiz”?

Paliwanag ni Mariel, “You know, when we say na parang a lot of people do this and I feel bad that I’m one of those people when we say na parang ‘Ay, showbiz ka naman, e.’ Yung parang plastik, not plastik, but you know what I’m saying?

“It’s just a term. It’s not our industry. It’s not our work. It’s not my job. It was just a term, ganun. Sabi ko nga, I have no intentions or whatsoever, and I never will hurt anyone in the industry. If meron akong nasaktan, gusto ko talagang mag-apologize. I’m really very sorry. I didn’t mean anything by it. I love my job.”

Who among my blogger friends want a Flat Screen TV?

Hey peeps! Guess what? There is a huge promotion that Overstock.com launched today! It’s a giveaway contest called: All I want for Christmas Giveaway. We are only three weeks away from Christmas and what better way to celebrate it if I can win a prize on this Giveaway contest.

You see, I have been familiar with Overstock even before the public knew about them. They were actually one of my vendors when I used to sell on Ebay. They have excellent service and I can usually buy the items I sell way less than my other vendors would sell them. So, in fact – I would shot at Overstock anyway regardless of the promotion. I just enjoy the fact that beside their great prices and excellent service, they provide additional promotions to their customers for fun and I guess for the spirit of Christmas as well.

You guessed it!! I want the flat screen TV~!!!! I and five friends of mine can win the same prize. All I have to do is join the promotion. It’s simple since I already have an account with Overstock.com. The friends that I would like to win the flatscreen TV with me are, Diwa, Pusa, Malen, OTWMD, and Bluep. I will email them separately and tell them about this giveaway. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind. ;)

So peeps – let’s sign up to the All I want for Christmas Giveaway!!
