Do you think Gucci would mind?
I was really bummed when I traveled to California last October. I had purchased two designer eyeglasses while I was traveling in Singapore back in May. I bought a pair of Gucci and a pair of Armani. The Armani one is something that I only use if I am sporting a rugged look, the Gucci was more for formal wear.
However, when I traveled to California, I forgot to bring the Armani glasses. I only got to bring the Gucci which was not supposed to be used for casual wear. I had no choice. While we were sight seeing in Rodeo Drive, I was afraid that I may drop the eyeglasses while trying on a few pieces of clothing. I left the eyeglass case in the car and of course I had to put it in my cargo shorts pocket.
After walking around for some time, we left to go to Santa Monica. As I slid into the car seat, I heard a crack! I knew that moment that I just broke my designer eyeglasses. Now I wonder if Gucci would replace it? Would they?

I used to work at Gucci. I know that you can have your handbags repaired, back then it was free not sure if they now charge for it. So I’m guessing they’ll repair your glasses too. I’ve seen bags that looked like they were dragged my the bus all over the city and still gets repaired. The NYC branch on 5th Ave. has a customer service/repair department. Actually all of those designer houses in the city do, Cartier will replace the batteries on your watch for free.
Hi sm!! Thanks for the tidbit, that at least gives me hope but the only thing is, mine is gucci eyeglasses not handbags. Do you think they will treat it the same? I think I still have the receipt.
I checked they still have repair/customer service department at the NYC store.
They should be able to repair your glasses, bring your receipt. I’ve seen people
come in w/o receipt saying they were gifts, but as long as the items is a true
Gucci product it was accepted. Good Luck!
Thanks SM!! You’re a god-send!! i will contact Gucci NYC – yes, this is the real thing.
Thanks again! and Happy Holiday Cheers!
