Sheryn Regis excited to spend Christmas in her new house
Christmas for singer Sheryn Regis will be grander this year.
“I’m gonna spend my Christmas with my family and I’m glad na mag-spend ako ng Christmas sa bagong ‘pinatayo kong maliit lang na bahay,” Sheryn happily announced to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last December 5 during the 1st OPM Song Hits Awards held at the Cinema 5 of Robinsons Galleria.
For Sheryn and her family, this is the first time they’ll celebrate the Yuletide here in Manila in a real house, not anymore in a high-rise loft. The petite singer’s own house, located somewhere in Quezon City, recently had its blessing last December 18.
Sheryn had been spending Christmas here in Manila for the past three years now, though her hometown is Cebu.
“I brought my family here na since 2004, and then ayon…dito na talaga kami lagi nag-Christmas,” she mentioned in her trademark Visayan accent.
In those three years, Sheryn stayed in a condominium unit, so she’s very excited to move out. Staying in a pad, revealed Sheryn, could be quite lonely especially during the merry months.
“Kasi sa condo kami nag-stay, alam mo, para kaming nasa Amerika,” she laughed. “Alam mo ‘yon, kami-kami na lang. Kasi mostly ng mga nasa condo, umuuwi sa probinsiya nila o kaya sa bahay ng pamilya nila. Kadalasan sa isang floor, two families lang ang naiwan. Kami-kami na lang ‘yong nagka-kantahan, nagvi-videoke kami.”
Although the condo revelers were few, the spirit of giving flowed around. “‘Tsaka bigayan ng food, like si Piolo [Pascual]…Si Piolo ‘pag Christmas, kung minsan, hindi naman umuuwi ‘yan, diyan lang sa ano [unit] niya. Bigay lang kami ng spaghetti, kasi ka-floor ko lang siya so kung ano ‘yong pagkain niya, ‘bibigay sa amin in exchange ng pagkain namin.”
Lastly, Sheryn revealed her specialty and contribution to the Noche Buena. “Spaghetti,” she yelped excitedly, ‘”yon lang naman yong alam ko, e.”
