Be open to every possibility. Sometimes we get lucky.
Being an entrepreneur, you must welcome every opportunity that comes your way. You have to learn the experience of weeding out good investments and opportunities versus the bad ones. When I learned that I can make a good margin selling a ‘niche’ type of movies on DVD via eBay, I jumped on it and became a Powerseller in the process. I also tried to leverage my connections from work to create an import/export company but due to lack of manpower, I had to close it.
There are opportunities all the time and the only way to weed out the good from the bad ones is to take it. I have a friend right now who’s into real estate investing. It is a good market for buyers at the moment. He wants me to invest with him and not only locally but nationally as well. He already purchased his first real estate property in Philadelphia at a great price. He is in the process of renovating it and estimates a margin of 15K in profits after it’s done. It’s going quite well and I am thinking about it.
Another place to invest is in Wilmington, NC Real Estate. The properties are attractive and the prices are still reasonable. We are looking nationally for investments and online resources are great because it saves time and travel. Of course, we do intend to personally see the properties before we go into it but for initial research, online presentation is the best. We can view properties any time, 24/7, 365 days a year. And that goes for any other place we are interested in investing. People may discourage us because of the market today but you always have to look at the silver lining on every situation. Sometimes, you get lucky.
