Money Matters: Credit Cards
Every once in a while, we splurge. Yes, I am guilty of that too! There are times we just want to not worry about money and we have credit cards for it right? Wrong. Eventually, you will pay the bills anyway. Instant gratification is our issue. We charge and charge until we don’t care enough about how much we’ve accumulated because we are already way deep into it.
There’s a way to escape. Remember, if you got there, you can get out of there too~! It will be harder though. It’s like climbing downhill and uphill. Charging (downhill), Paying (uphill). It can be done as long as you know how to outsmart the process.
If you have read my previous posts about the importance of keeping your credit score high, you should know that if you have followed suit – you can bargain the interest rate that you receive from your credit card offers. Did you know that? I had a card one time that chose to increase my credit line ‘because of excellent credit’. I noticed that they increased my interest rate too! Who was on the phone the next second? ME!
After talking to them and telling them that due to my high credit score, I cannot accept the rate that they are charging me and that if they won’t lower it, I will close the account. They lowered my interest rate right there and then and gave me 0% balance transfers which means that I can transfer any amount I owe from other credit cards that charge me a higher interest rate and save lots of earned money. To top it off, they gave me a 12 month 0% promotion! It was a win-win situation.
If you are in debt and you need to get out, you can go to the internet and us their tool to compare credit cards and their rates. If you are currently in trouble with high-interest bearing credit cards, do your research. You can save more money than you think.
