To the one of a few people I encountered online… Coconuter
I am offering this space to David Poarch, the author of the blog “Coconuter”. I had been following his blog for over a year now. I may not comment a lot on his blog but I do lurk in the background reading his stories of hardship, of laughter, and pain. I would gaze at the perfect images he takes of my own country, the Philippines and wonder about what could have been if I had stayed there and how different would I be. As a matter of fact, he is one of a few people who inspired me to start blogging.
He is now returning to the U.S. after his stay in the Philippines. Now married to Liza and has a beautiful baby boy named Thurman, he will return to open the next chapter in his life. The journey is not over. He is still searching like we all are. I’m still searching as well David. We must continue our search of life’s purpose and I fully support your decision.

Before April showers, come baby showers…
It’s freezing today. The temperature is 12 degrees and it seems like it was only last week when the weather was in the 60s. I just can’t wait for Spring and then Summer. I have many plans this year and it includes my niece who’s giving birth to her first born in April. I want to throw her a big baby shower. The only problem is, she lives in Colorado and I’m here on the East Coast. I may have to take a flight out there.
With that in mind, I am not sure how to contact all her friends so I could send out the invitations early enough for them to plan. I guess I can contact her husband but even that is a challenge. She would probably wonder why I would call her husband when I haven’t called him ever. Hmmm.. I’m thinking.
Aha! I could call her brothers. She moved to Colorado because all her siblings moved there after college. All four of them. It’s funny how my sister and brother-in-law haven’t moved there yet. They must spend a fortune on plane fare going back and forth on holidays and such.
Anyway, I gotta get on this task. April is not that far away and I want to give her a baby shower before the baby comes. I love baby showers!!

Before you buy a new laptop (notebook).
I bought a laptop last year and I already want to buy a new one. I bought the laptop choosing the one with the numerical keyboard built into it because I usually hate having to type numbers using the keyboard keys. Since I am used to using my desktop keyboard, the most logical thing is to purchase one that doesn’t deviate much from my desktop’s design. The only issue? The laptop is larger than the normal ones because of the extended keyboard. I shouldn’t have impulsively purchased one but hey, what are you going to do?

Rock Your World – Frozen Grand Central by Improv Everywhere
I was amazed when I dropped by one of the visitors of this blog and saw a video posted that surely Rocked My World. It’s called Frozen Grand Central. Improv Everywhere causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 70 missions involving thousands of undercover agents. The group is based in New York City.
For this mission, over 200 Improv Everywhere Undercover Agents completed the mission by freezing in the midst of all the regular human traffic at the station. If you were in the midst of this, I don’t know what you would have done. It was amazing. Imagine causing this event at one of the busiest stations in New York. A little tidbit from Wikipedia:

Oh Canada – Oh Canada
I stayed home today. I am sick. The cold that I have been fighting with for a couple of weeks finally took over. I think I’m burnt out. Working 16 hours days for the past couple of weeks and going to school at the same time has finally taken its toll. I can’t continue to do this but I have to. I think I just need a break. I was supposed to take Monday and Tuesday off next week but there’s too much work that I can’t even take the chance.

I must have been teased a lot while growing up. Teasing could injure ones self-confidence and can sometimes cause serious issues for the individual growing up. I really didn’t participate in any spectator sports because I can’t stand being watched and criticized how I perform. I received a letter from my doctor.
Whoah! I was a bit taken aback when I received a letter from my doctor. I thought personalized attention with doctors are long gone. I was wrong. This is what happened.
After my visit to Asia last year, I came home and within a month I started coughing a lot. It could have been because I was smoking different brands of cigarettes while I was there or it could have been anything. I also felt weaker. A normal five-block walk or even as simple as going upstairs and I will be out of breath. I thought it was weird. I let it go for a couple more weeks and when I finally couldn’t take it anymore, I tried to schedule an appointment with my doctor. Well, come to find out – my original doctor is no longer in the network so I had to choose a new one. Dr. Malamut is his name.
After seeing me, and some blood work done he found out that I am anemic. He prescribed daily doses of Vitamin C taken with Iron pills. He also advised that I should schedule for a recommended Endoscopy and Colonoscopy so he can investigate further. He said my blood count is really low and that somewhere, I am losing blood. Together with that, I told him I want to quit smoking as well. So he prescribed some smoke cessation pills that I should take.
When I got to the pharmacy, I was told that the cost of my meds (including the deductible) will be over three hundred dollars. I almost died (well, not literally). Although one of the guys at the pharmacy told me – in confidence – that I should check out an online pharmacy for my meds. He said that you do save a lot of money doing that. They will provide prescription meds as well.
I thought about it and so I thought, it may be good to do that. But I haven’t and of course since the colonoscopy and endoscopy procedure he ordered is part of the diagnosis, and I haven’t scheduled it because I haven’t gotten the meds I need for the procedure.
I got a letter from him today, telling me to imperatively go to the specialist in order that he may complete his diagnosis. I was really planning to, I just need to buy the meds to prepare for the procedure, more than likely from an online pharmacy and arrange for a friend to drive me to and from the clinic and voila – I wll do it.
So, folks – - I’m going under! Haha! Just kidding. I really need to do this. He may have found something that could trigger a bigger problem so the earlier I go, the earlier he can complete his diagnosis.

I was tagged by my friend Malen about the Revenge of the Broken Hearts and rightfully so. I haven’t posted a personal entry for so long and I thought her tag was somewhat a good thing so I can reveal a few things about me. Yes, about Chuva Chienes. I have been in bad relationships before but some actually turned out to be a great experience. I mean that in the best way possible. Some even turned out to be one of my best friends. The only thing that I can’t follow on the tag is to make fun of the person, because it’s over and done with. I will however tell you what occurred.

Yes, that’s me and him a looooooooooooong time after the fact. I met him during Pride in Washington, D.C. and the meeting was not quite explosive. He is an ex-seminarian and one of the things that drew me to him was that fact. I have the same experience and religious at best so I thought it would be nice to get to know him. He is not super guwapo but his sex appeal was well – appealing kunitchiwa!!!!!!!

It’s almost that time again – - time to reminisce.
I remember the days when I always said that prayer or made that wish for a Valentine. A wish for someone to spend your ’special day’ with. A prayer for someone who will give you a kiss, a hug, a smile or someone to exchange valentine’s gifts with.. someone to listen to what you have to say, when nobody else will. Someone who looks at you and could see nothing but the best in you, the beauty in you. Year after year I will make that wish. The Valentine never came.
Then, after 10 years – right at the moment that I let go – the instant that I said, ‘It doesn’t matter’, my knight appeared. It happened at the most unexpected moment in my life. I wasn’t ready for it. That was four years ago. We are still together today.
I tried to make logic out of what happened. How and why did it play out that way? I kept trying to find a way to understand. One night, as I was sitting alone at home I thought, ‘I know why!!’ V came at a point in my life when finding a Valentine didn’t occupy my daily thought. I was ready to enjoy ‘me’. I had learned how to be happy – without V. I was content and I was ready to enjoy life, even if it is just ‘me’. It was that which made the difference. My knight saw me as one who no longer relied on ’someone else’ to experience LIFE! I didn’t project a person who will sit at home, wait by the phone, sulking, and waiting for V to call or write. I didn’t care what V was doing, what V was watching, and why V even mattered. This time, I’m going to be V!!! I thought to myself, I am important too.
I was coming home today, after long hours at work and late nights of blogging. I was tired, I was hungry, and I was ready to eat my dinner and sleep. As I drove to park at the lot, my headlights lit up the door to my house. There was a box sitting by the door. Instantly I knew. My knight sent me a bouquet of flowers fresh from Holland. I ran, took the box in and opened it. Inside the box lay two dozen red roses!!! All because, I stopped looking for V, and V has found me. I LOVE YOU POOH!!
