TV Ratings (March 11-13): “The Legend” breaks into the Top 10 primetime shows
After debuting at No.5, GMA-7’s newest Koreanovela The Legend moves to the fourth spot in the primetime contest, thanks to its 30.5 percent rating registered last Tuesday, March 11. Wednesday and Thursday produced the same results, with the historical drama tallying 31.0 and 31.3 percent respectively. But numbers aside, the entry of the said program has a telling effect on the other shows jockeying to barge inside the Magic 5. The Legend’s strong showing only expanded the Kapuso Network’s foothold in the evening race.
Kung Fu Kids and TV Patrol World took turns in occupying the seventh spot for ABS-CBN. March 11 saw Kung Fu Kids amassing a 23.5 percent grade. TV Patrol World, on the other hand, snatched the spot from Kung Fu Kids for two consecutive days, rallying to earn 22.8 percent on Wednesday and 21.8 on Thursday.
Now on its final week, it is almost certain that Marimar will end its campaign with flying colors. For Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the duo of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera never went below the 45 percent mark, with Kamandag posing as a close rival.
Eat Bulaga! dominated the daytime race with Thursday proving to be the strongest (24.7 percent). Pulling off a surprise, dark horse Takeshi’s Castle zoomed to third place last Thursday, March 13, with an impressive 17.8 to upset drama bets Maging Aking Ka Lamang and Kaputol Ng Isang Awit.
The Pacquiao Update also moved up as interest intensifies for Manny’s upcoming rematch with Mexican foe Juan Manuel Marquez scheduled for Sunday, March 16 (Philippine time). Garnering a 15.1 percent rating, the Pacquiao Update rose to No. 6 overall last Tuesday before crashing to the last spot on Wednesday. Exacting revenge, the program bounced back to occupy the sixth spot anew on Thursday via its 14.5 percent clip.
Kristine Hermosa’s Prinsesa Ng Banyera, on the other hand, maintained an 11.3 percent showing for both Wednesday and Thursday to settle for ninth and tenth place, respectively.
