Tonight’s the night mga kabords! Turn off your lights for the Earth Hour.
I am joining millions of people for the Earth Hour where many cities, including Manila will turn off their lights and non-essential electrical appliances to conserve the earth’s energy. We can save the world from the effects of climate change. It is having a devastating impact and we can do something about it.
It started in Sydney, Australia in 2007 in cooperation with the World Wildlife Fund. It was such a success conserving energy that they doubled the amount of energy saved (10.2% instead of the 5% goal). In 2008 there are more cities that would join including – Melbourne, Brisbane, Manila, Tel Aviv, Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, and San Francisco.
On March 29th at 8:00 p.m. (THAT’s TODAY for you folks in the U.S.) – join the movement by turning your lights out for 1 hour. Turn OUT for Earth Hour.
As of the moment, there are 270, 512 individuals signed up and pledge for support for Earth Hour 2008, 19,456 businesses on more than a hundred countries taking some action on global warming.
