Summer is coming, time for our Hot Movie Trailers

on Uncategorized

Maybe because the last movie was lame. I didn’t like it so I didn’t watch it. It was so fake and too cartoony. I believe that is why the new “Incredible Hulk” film is here to redeem the hero. I loved “The Incredible Hulk” on television with Bill Bixby. I watched it faithfully then and when the movie came out – I believe around 2003, I was excited. Until I saw the trailer. That just drew the excitement out of me.

Not the new one though. I think this movie is about to redeem “The Incredible Hulk” and put it in a new light. What do you guys think?

Coming this summer, on June 13th – - “The Incredible Hulk!”

A new gay-themed indie Film – Hugot

on Uncategorized

Indie films from the Philippines have surprised me in most recent months. We have multi-awarded film “Kubrador” starring Ms. Gina Pareno and other little Indie films that have gone mainstream. This is great news for the Philippine Film Industry as a whole and I hope that they continue to flourish. Digital media production is up as well and it’s refreshing to see many gay-themed films being produced. A new one is called “Hugot”. The film will be shown at U.P. Diliman on April 23rd. This may have the same success as “DayBreak” starring Coco Martin.

Take a look!

HUGOT Synopsis

Episode 1: “Raymond”

When Raymond’s youngest sibling, an out-of-school youth, fell victim to a hit-and-run, the obligation to collect money for the hospitalization was left to Raymond. One night, Raymond and his best friend Nolan scoured the entire city to find a victim. They are cell phone snatchers.

The transsexual Dorina, fresh from her victory as Miss Gay and P8, 000 richer, would be their prey. However, not only robbery would be committed as the partners in crime would accidentally kill the veteran gay beauty contestant.

What destiny awaits the two friends? Raymond’s critical sibling? Will justice be meted out for the slain gay?

Who is the true victim?

Episode 2: “Anton”

Anton’s nightly dreams are evocative: the rice field clothesline where burning garments are hanging, the ash of which gets into his eyes.

What do his dreams mean? How are these related to his present anguish and solitude? Will these inspire Anton into finishing his poem-in-progress, the poem for the beloved who left him or whom he left?

Episode 3: “Bimbo”

While youth activists Edward and Bimbo are heading home from a rally, the latter falls to the ground unconscious due to hunger and exhaustion. A middle-aged man helps Edward haul Bimbo’s body. Because the stranger’s apartment is nearby, he offers his place for the two to rest in before going home.

When he comes to, Bimbo learns from his friend Edward that they are in an unfamiliar place—the house of Leandro, the stranger.

Leandro prepares food for the young men as Melody, Leandro’s best friend, a funny liberated woman, visits the latter’s pad.

They both convinces the boys to spend the night through. The friends agree. They cannot decline the drink offered by Leandro. They become tipsy and their conversation meanders from politics, activism, gay rights and…sex.

Who is Leandro and what motive does he harbor over the teenagers?

Be Informed, Cautious, Smart, Sure – read before you eat.

Gulf oysters are the best kind of oysters. I’ve tried them and they are so sumptous. I eat raw oysters and cooked oysters although I prefer the earlier rather than the latter. That’s pretty much how I’ve been introduced to oysters and that’s how I know to eat them.

Although we have another way of eating raw oysters other than just the plain cocktail sauce and lemon. We usually take the oyster right from the shell (yes, raw) and put it in a mixture of vinegar, ginger, garlic and a bit of salt and pepper. We let it sit for a few minutes and whoah – - once you taste it, you will always crave for it.

There is a danger with eating oysters raw. I remember my mom would always tell me not to eat oysters in an empty stomach, let alone eat ‘em raw. Bacteria could attack your immune system and it could kill you if you are not well. It’s okay if you’re strong and healthy but why take chances. You must make sure that the oyster you eat is bacteria free and / or learn about how to eat oyster safely. Visit BeOyseterAware.com and learn from them. They are the experts.

I can’t stop blogging!!!

Shoop!  I think I’m totally addicted to blogging.  I can’t seem to restrain myself.  To all my subscribers, please bear with me as I try to earn a bit from my blogging hobby.  I will post some juicy tidbits next week after Easter.

I have gained some insiders who provide me with the cheezmax that you’ve been seeing here lately.  So, don’t worry  – - more news coming soon.

Cheers and have a great Easter!!

Before you eat ‘em – be Oyster Aware.

I have loved oysters ever since I tried them. Raw oysters are big in the Philippines as well, without the cocktail sauce. But even then, I always liked it and will probably never lose my appetite for it. I eat it at buffets, crabfeasts, and even during summer gatherings.

Gulf oysters are wholesome and very tasty. My love for oysters remain and whenever we go to Rehoboth Beach during the summer months, I make sure that we include it with our order every time we go for an all-you-can-eat crab lunch. You must be aware however that if you’re not healthy or suffering from any illness, it could be dangerous to your health. I was not aware of the bacteria that an oyster can carry such as: Vibrio vulnificus. This bacteria can actually kill you if you get it into your system or get you seriously ill.

Be Oyster Aware website is a great website to get educated on oysters whether you are eating them raw or cooked. As you will read on the Be Oyster Aware website eating oysters can be a good thing, they do taste great as well as have omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin B-12 and Zinc. You just need to be more careful when enjoying these great pleasure called oysters especially if you have any of the following conditions such as Liver Disease, Iron overload disease, Diabetes, Cancer, Stomach Disorders or any other illness that can weaken your bodies immune system.

I know a lot of people love ‘em. But you have to be OYSTER AWARE!

For Holy Week, I guess it’s time to step away from the scandals.

Hello peeps! I know, I know. It has been a very interesting week. Maraming iskandalo, maraming cheezwiz. Pero napagisip-isipan naman ni Chuva na dapat naman na mamahinga muna rito upang igalang ang Mahal na Araw.

No, we’re not being self-righteous. Kailangan ko rin ng break dahil masyado na ang pagkakurta na isip ko sa ka-ka blog. So for Holy Week, let us (yes, that includes you my readers) pause for a moment and reflect.

Let’s start by showing you a video of KC Concepcion’s clip from her role as United Nations’ Ambassador for World Food Program. It humbles me. It makes me want to do something more for others. I’m sure the “Kookiberks” would enjoy to see their favorite celebrity doing what anyone in that statute should be doing. Let’s take her as an example for us to help the less fortunate. Go KC!!!!!!!!!! You are magnificent. You remind me of Princess Diana. YOU ROCK!!!

Thanks to berks1919 for the VID upload.

Digital photo frames. I want one!!!

I went to Asia last year. You might already be tired of me talking about it but I can’t help it. Asia is the next big thing! Forget Europe, or U.S. – Asia is the next biggest destination for tourists and it has already started. If I were you, I would encourage your friends to visit Singapore, China, Thailand, Philippines, and many many more places in the East. It was an experience for me.

Why am I writing about Asia? Because I cannot forget where I first saw and wanted to buy digital photo frames. I was in the office of the country manager of China (with his office view of Pu-dong) and I saw the digital frame he had where digital pictures of his trip abroad and all over Asia was being displayed on a slide show manner. I became really curious and he told me that he got the digital photo frame from Singapore. I was destined for Singapore so I made sure that I look it up once I got there. I saw some in Singapore while I was there but it was too expensive. I didn’t want to spend all that money for the frame. I figured, once it becomes popular – the price should go down.

When I came back here in the States, they were even more expensive. Yet, recently, I discovered a site where you purchase them direct from a wholesaler. Yes! It’s priced really well. If you want want, you should visit http://www.digitalframesdirect.com/.

Digital Frames Direct is the largest digital frame wholesaler in the UK. digital photo frames make great gifts for family, friends, and colleagues for almost any occasion. Digital frames are also an excellent way of displaying advertising and promotions for your business.

The Gucci Gang and DJ Montano Scandal continues…but for how long?

bw-agony-5×7.jpgThe blog keeps getting more and more explosive by the minute. First, a lawyer writes to Brian Gorrell who claims to defend DJ Montano. One comment made me laugh as it said, “9mm @3:23: “las pinas lawyer with a yahoo email add” LOL. that takes the cake!!” Hahaha! That is sooo true. How could you be the lawyer of an “elite individual” and not even be able to afford an email domain. Shoop! This is not only entertaining but it is totally hilarious.

A lot of people are defending Brian with his story. His story is legitimate as far as I’m concerned as written by Inquirer.net. They spoke to Brian Gorell himself! And he’s tired. He just wants his money back so he can live the life that he so hardly worked for. But it doesn’t seem to phase the Gucci gang or DJ Montano himself.

The Passover ritual by Jews and Buddhists.

I have always been very curious about the Jewish religion. I am not only curious but fascinated as well. The raise to awareness is simple. They celebrate Hannukah at around the same time we celebrate Christmas. They also celebrate Passover around the time we are commemorating Holy Week. So, there is that awareness and the story is told during Holy Week as well regarding their flight from Egypt.

The story of the passover is a story about slavery and freedom. It can be said that it is something that we need to remember. It is also something that we can compare to our spiritual growth as well. We all go through hardships before we can grow. Sometimes it takes a painful one, and sometimes it does not. But we all need to grow and we have these experiences that we could use to remind us. I believe the ritual is called Haggadah which retells the story of the Passover. Moreover, the prayer books usually contain traditional prayers and many quotes from Rabbis as well. It delves to enable one’s devotion and helps to find a deeper meaning in one’s Judaisms most beloved tradition.

This particular book is called Haggadah for Jews & Buddhists. Actually, an e-book is being offered as well in PDF version. All you have to do is visit this site to check it out: www.ModernHaggadah.com

Read the review of the book from Amazon.com below:

Even though I grew up in an agnostic Jewish family, the Passover seder was an important event every year. Passover was the only Jewish holiday we ever celebrated.

So it was with some trepidation that I approached the Haggadah for Jews & Buddhists. While Buddhist meditation practice is very important to me, I am not all that adventurous when it comes to Passover.

But as I read through the Jewish/Buddhist hagaddah, an attempt to express the universal theme of Passover to traditional Jews, Buddhists and people of diverse spiritual leanings, my trepidation melted away and I found myself intrigued by the idea of trying something new.

Right from start, this hagaddah, written by Elizabeth Pearce-Glassheim, speaks to the symbolic power of the holiday as it describes the enslavement of the Jews and their journey to freedom as a metaphor for consciousness and our own striving for release from attachment and toward spiritual growth.

While this hagaddah is structurally the same as Reform-style seders and includes all the familiar sections, it’s the language and interpretation that makes all the difference.

I jumped ahead to the Four Questions, probably the most important part of the seder for the way that it perpetuates the Jewish tradition of questions and dialogue.

In this section, the authors speaks directly to the traditionalist, the humanist or secular Jew, the Buddhist, and non-Jewish friends, a thought-provoking attempt to explain the universal meanings of Passover to a diverse group of people.

As I read it, I recognized that my Buddhist self has everything to do with my secular Judaism.

Now the really big question: Do I want to integrate these two traditions and conduct a Jewish/Buddhist seder?

I think it’s worth a try. If I can communicate Passover’s message of freedom while conveying my interest in self-discovery and spiritual growth to my children, I say why not?

Whatever happens, it should, at the very least, provoke a great conversation over our gefilte fish. –Louise Crawford

Brian Gorrell writing a book after his blog reached half a milliion hits…

cover21.gif

Okay folks, the drama continues to unfold. The Philippine Inquirer, getting involved in the frenzy and blog sensation of Mr. Brian Gorrell has actually spoken to Brian. They called him in Australia and was indeed surprised to find out that Brian Gorrell does exist, a real person and that they can gather the story directly from the horse’s mouth.

Ayun, lumabas na ang katotohanan. Although the story written by Philippine Inquirer is basically similar to what Brian Gorrell already blogs about, Brian did say that he will write a book about this whole fiasco.

The title? The Talented Mr. ______ ??? Why isn’t the Inquirer mentioning the name of the “ex-boyfriend”.   Is there such a law that would put the Inquirer under violation if they do mention the name? Why can’t they tell the story with the main person’s name involved in this circus? I am seriously asking since I don’t know the law in the Philippines. Does anyone know?

So, you like baseball?! How much? Can you win a fantasy league?

When I first came to America, I really didn’t know exactly how baseball was played. I know how to play it Filipino style. Base 1, Base 2, Base 3 – Homerun. That’s all I knew. When I got to Baltimore (Baseball is big in Maryland because of the Baltimore Orioles), I got to receive free tickets to watch the game from our vendors at work. I was hesitant then because I would look like a fool watching baseball when I don’t even know how to play the game.

I asked a cute co-worker of mine if he would go with me. He did and we had such a blast. We drank those 5 dollar beers and 4 dollar hotdogs – - it was great! Hahaha! Seriously though, I had a great time. Ever since then, I have been following baseball most specially at the time, Cal Ripken was about the hit the 2131 consecutive record game. The hype was all there.

Hearsay mga ka-bords!! Chuva Chienes becomes a Celebrity overnight.

shock_by_celebrity_trollop.jpgHahaha!! Just a little over a year ago, you wouldn’t know who Chuva Chienes is. Simply, Chuva was someone who opened her blog to write about ‘stuff’. It was a way to vent, and of course – socialize. Although Chuva enjoyed the attention of the few blogger friends she made, it remained in that circle and it was fun. The relationships were personal and we still keep in touch from time to time even up to this day.

Until one day, when a tip was received by Chuva from one of our readers. The tip was scandalous to the core. Without knowing how big the scandal was, Chuva blogged about it out of curiosity. The floodgates were opened and the readers just came rushing in. This was the Tessa Dragon issue.

Loans – are they worth looking into?

Payday Loan amounts and fees vary from state to state and one should always find out more about loan terms before applying for any type of loan. If you feel that your budget has been affected by high gas prices, and high cost of commodities and needed an emergency help, you may be able to look into payday loans to assist you.

PersonalPaydayCashAdvance.com offers state-to-state information relating to the payday cash advance industry along with expert advice to help consumers make sound financial decisions. Remember payday loans are the ideal solution for one-time emergency expenses and must be paid off by your next payday – although fees and loan terms do differ by state.

Although I found out more about New Jersey payday loans . Check cash advance loans are prohibited under New Jersey Law. The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance oversees consumer complaints relating to deceptive lending practices and other financial issues. Presently, the small loan cap in New Jersey is set at 30%.

It would be wise for your to check your own state for applicability of payday loans and you should understand the different types of loans first before you sign anything.

Homes in California – riding the tide.

I was speaking to my cousin from California last night. She was complaining about the high gas prices (reached $4.00 per gallon) and the rise of homes that are being foreclosed in her area. Recession is definitely here whether the President wants to admit it or not.

Since my cousin is becoming the real estate and mortgage expert (she went through classes to understand the market, the conditions and how to get in the real estate business), she did tell me that people who can afford to pay their own homes who didn’t opt for sub-prime loans can still benefit with a mortgage refinance if they need to. It is most definitely recommended for those who took out sub-prime loans whose interest rates have fluctuated since their ARM mortgages expired.

I suggest that if you are one of the folks that borrowed under sub-prime mortgages, consider refinancing now.

Do you want a $20K home makeover for free? Find out how.

Summer is almost here again. It’s about time, it’s about projects around the home. For the past seven years since I’ve lived at my home, I have had to do something every summer. Replace this, add this, do this and that. It’s not cheap if you know what I mean. I wish I could just sit back and watch the money flow while my house is being renovated without me having to save up for a year for each project. I mean, can somebody else pay for it! ;)

Then, I heard about a $20,000 Home Makeover in the Renuzit TriScents Transform Your Home Promotion! All you need to do is create a 2 minute video and a 250 word essay and you’re in! (see official rules).

All you have to do is to visit their site and read the rules. You have to show both in the video and the essage why you deserve to win a home makeover. Voting will not start until May 8th so – enter to win and give yourself a chance to promote your entry as well. Just print a coupon from the site (very easy to download) and purchase the new Renuzit® TriScents™ and write about how it has improved your home.

Double Uber Chika to the Maximum Level!! Brian Gorrell blogged about Chizmizan with Chuva!!

private.JPGHello peeps! As you know, we have been following the DJ Montano, Celine Lopez and the Gucci Gang Scandal by Brian Gorrell. I just blogged about having Google Adsense on his blog this afternoon. I mentioned that his blog unique views is phenomenal and that he would benefit from having Google Adsense on his pages, however his unique views had gone down a bit because he closed the comments section – which (I’m guessing) – was the fire to his blog. I gave out his Sitemeter.com stats and said that if he only had Google Adsense, he would have made quite a penny by now.

Guess what Peeps!! He is re-opening the comments section!! He quoted my post, word-for-word from my blog and quoted my entry thanking us for our support. (see screenshot below)

Chuvahotness #1 – Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford

chace_crawford11.jpg

Oh yes, of course. You all know how we love and adore them. Yes, the guys that we drool over on television or the theaters!! Starting today, Chuva will post a Chuvahotness page featuring our favorite hunks. Shempre, pa-sweet lang ang ditse ninyo pero kumulo sa loob. Haha!!

So, for our Chuvahotness #1 – Welcome and be introduced to Chace Crawford. Chace grew up in Dallas, Texas. His father is a dermatologist and his mother is a teacher. He has one sibling, a younger sister, Candice, who is studying broadcast journalism. Chace played football and golf in high school and is a talented artist. He graduated from Trinity Christian Academy in 2003. Although he worked as a model in Dallas, he never pursued acting. He moved to Malibu, California to attend Pepperdine University after high school where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He struggled to identify a career path, vacillating between advertising, business and communications majors. Midway through his second year his mother encouraged him to pursue acting. He credits her for initiating this bold move. She states that “it was a practical move,” based on career aptitude test he had taken in high school which revealed he was best suited for a career in the performing arts. He was signed by the first talent agent that interviewed him and then committed full-time to acting studies.

Opo mga kabords!! Talent manager na po si Chuva ngayon.

Well, well, well…. Just look at what fame brought me. (Chika!) The global admirers of this blog are really the reason why I do it. It gives me a lot of satisfaction that people enjoy the posts here as much as I despise spending late nights and hours of blog hopping to find content that would be of interest to my readers. Actually, I have now realized my purpose and it’s really very simple. Dapat maging talent manager na ko!!!!!!

I will, from time to time, showcase Filipino talent that I discover on this blog. Maraming nag-e-email asking if they could feature this and feature that. I appreciate the emails and the tips providing me ideas on content. However, I could only accommodate a few. Last night, we went to our monthly social for ASIAC (Aids Services in Asian Communities) here in Philadelphia. I have known this guy forever. Crush na crush ko nga siya no?! We got into talking dahil talaga naman mga kabords – super guwapo at super ganda ng katawan nitong taong ito. He is half-Filipino and half-Chinese pero grabe sa ka-kyutan. Puwedeng puwede na ipanlaban kina Piolo Pascual at Sam Milby kung tutuusin.

Enough about DJ Montano – It’s not the Gucci Gang, it’s the Butse Gang.

Hahaha!! I read somewhere that scandals only lasts for 13 days. Opo, labing tatlong araw lang – tapos, people start to get weary of it so they let go and forget about it. As long as you can ride the tide, you will be fine. I think that is such sound advice.

Kung meron mang DJ Montano and the Gucci Gang Scandal , may Chuva Chienes and the ‘Butse’ (another dessert delicacy from Central Visayas Region VII where the sweet potato of kamote is boiled and mashed, fromed into balls and stuffed with grated cassava inside then fried – the U.S. version includes rolling the boll in toasted sesame seeds) Gang Scandal din. Bakit Butse? Eh ang tataba ng Butse gang no?! Parang mga bolang pinagulong sa asukal! Kulang na lang keso – ensaymada na!! Ang mga elite ng Philadelphia ay nagwawala rin and if you start to reveal their true nature, magkakagulo rin ang buong blogosphere! Just imagine the catfights that happen between these socialites. Mga pasaway din sila. At hindi lang yon. It was confirmed that the Butse Gang is fond of boylets daw kaya nga nag-a-away away.  Alam na alam ng mga bloggers yan na related sa site na ‘to.  Lalo na ang mga celebrity bloggers.

That’s why the following pictures reveal the not-so-socialite-worthy activities of the ‘Butse’ Gang. You want scandal? You got scandal. This is one of the very first time you will see these pictures. They even have pictures together with the Governor or Pennsylvania, Mr. Ed Rendell. But behind closed doors, you will see that they are not so prim and proper after all. A word of caution: This is for adult audiences – over 18 only. Do not jump if you’re underage. Hanapin ninyo si Chuva Chienes sa pictures!

Nice video huh? I have been back in school for more than five years now and I only go part time because I need to work in order to fulfill my responsibilities. The tuition is expensive nowadays so I can only afford a few credits each year.I heard about a program that got me excited. It’s a program at Kettering University. Do you know how much it will cost me if I took mechanical engineering? I probably won’t be able to afford it. Kettering’s professional co-op enables students to graduate with 2.5 years of on-the-job experience in their chosen field and have partnered with over 700 co-op employers across the U.S. and around the world.

What this simply mean is that you, as a paid undergrad professional co-op student, can earn up to $65,000 over the course of your co-op. How does it benefit you? A co-op education offers incredible benefits both your academic and professional career. Just read “Making the Grade with Cooperative Education” to learn how co-op earnings can make college more affordable.

The great thing with Kettering is their student/faculty ratio of 12:1 with an average class size of only 20 students. Individual attention to you as a student is hardly a question. Plus, nearly 98% of Kettering seniors have job offers or are accepted into graduate school before they graduate; all that attention really pays off. Kettering graduates also often command above-average starting salaries and are quick to climb the corporate ladder because of their co-op experience.

Kettering retains it’s #1 ranking in U.S. News World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges Guide” for 2008. “The Princeton Review” declares Kettering a “Best Midwestern College”. Students earn Bachelor degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer And Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Environmental Chemistry, Computer Science and Business Management.

With these incentives, thinking of going back to school? Don’t think – just do it!

It’s confirmed. I’m a star!! =)

Thanks very much to my admirers. I am really flattered by the emails and IMs I’ve been receiving from you guys. The guy in London (thanks for the pics), this one guy who’s working as a contractor in Iraq – thanks for the pics too!! And another one from the Philippines who’s opened up an Internet Cafe after working so hard overseas. Thanks for all your IMs and emails as well. I am very very flattered.

However, the most recent picture I received was sooo flattering that it just confirmed that CHUVA CHIENES has achieved Megastar status.

koreanovela.JPG

After debuting at No.5, GMA-7′s newest Koreanovela The Legend moves to the fourth spot in the primetime contest, thanks to its 30.5 percent rating registered last Tuesday, March 11. Wednesday and Thursday produced the same results, with the historical drama tallying 31.0 and 31.3 percent respectively. But numbers aside, the entry of the said program has a telling effect on the other shows jockeying to barge inside the Magic 5. The Legend‘s strong showing only expanded the Kapuso Network’s foothold in the evening race.
