That’s it!! I give up!
Nakow mga ka-bords. Heto ang bagong chika. Pagod na pagod ako from work. I was rushing because I had to take Jake out para magawa niya yung business nya no. I had to stop by the dry cleaners to pick up my laundry in preparation for my trip to Germany this coming Saturday. Shogodras ang ditse ninyo… at gusto ng matulog.
While I was inside the house, (looking for Jake – - apparently my maid took him out with her) I heard the door bell. Sabi ko, ang aga naman yatang mang-istorbo nitong mga solicitors na to.
My grandma use to teach pre-school.
It’s as if it was only yesterday. My grandmom had a pre-school behind our house in Manila. All of the neighborhood kids went to school there. My grandmom was a teacher and she loved every minute of it. We had the best of times in that school. Everyone knew my grandmom. She was an inspiration to all of us so after she died at the age of ninety years old, my aunt decided that her memory must live on. She had the school rebuilt and hired teachers. The school has a high rate of enrollment that they had to expand it from pre-school to second grade.
My sister who has four kids, would like to retire from the corporate world and simply teach children. She wants to start a preschool around her neighborhood and is currently looking at all the costs involved including how much it would cost her to purchase preschool furniture.
She didn’t think about how much work she was into until she started looking into it. My grandmom had done it all her life. I guess it’s true when they said, “Find doing something that you love and you will never work a day in your life.” Now I see why.
You shouldn’t have sold your beach front property yet…
I was talking to a friend of mine over the weekend while celebrating my birthday at a local Philly bar. He told me that he just recently sold his beach house. I was like, “What?” (Cause I thought I was going to get a free stay with them again this summer… hehe!) But good for him.
Just look at this beach house below:
I was with him last summer and I saw a lot of opportunities in that area of New Jersey. It’s called Brigantine. Waterfront homes were selling like hotcakes there three years ago. I could have bought then, and with interest rates so low now – it’s the perfect time to get those beach house plans dusted off and start working on them. It’s fun to have a beach house. The prices have gone up in that area without much going down since the foreclosure crisis. I think it’s got a great potential and will be a great place to invest.
I guess we’ll just have to rent one again this summer.. – - it’s okay though. He really needed to get the stress out of his life right now.. and if selling his beach house would do it, I can’t blame him.
It’s not too early..
Last year, we struggled at the last minute to find Halloween Costumes. If you remember, I was in drag last year and I had a blast. But this year, I want to be something different. I would rather be someone who’s unrecognizable in a costume (as if I was recognizable last year! hehe!).
Why do we want to start now? Because by the time fall arrives, the costumes have been picked and either you end up with fifty pirates or twenty Hillary Clinton or be unique. I could be in drag again but now, I have to start picking from the Sexy Halloween Costumes available before they all get chosen.
No matter what I end up as – - I will be fabulous!!
I am falling for you…
I just want to know if it’s possible for people to fall in love with someone you haven’t met but through simple online IMs, and phone conversations. Mag-iisang taon na kaming wala ng ex-boyfriend ko. We are still good friends and we exchange emails now and then. I can’t say that I’m totally over him but the break up was kinda mutual so I guess we are both moving on. I’m uncertain if I’m ready to fall in love again yet there is a prodding, a soft voice talking.
I’ve heard na marami palang mga bloggers na nag-kakainlaban. Nakita ko nga sa isang post somewhere na it’s possible daw na ma-develop ang isang relationship virtually. Pero kahit na online pa or whatever, the chain of love remains the same. It’s the usual “Mahal kita, mahal mo siya, mahal niya ay iba…” Read more
I can’t believe how time flies.
It feels as if Summer took forever to get here. It’s now time to savor the good weather that we have highly anticipated since March. It’s great to finally say, “Summer is here!” It’s time for barbecues, beach and outdoor activities. But we all know how that goes. Summer comes and it goes really fast. Before you know it, we’ll be looking for Halloween costumes again!
You all saw my costume last year. It was hilarious! I saw some outrageous costumes at the Halloween ball and I don’t intend to be overshadowed this year when the time comes. Wouldn’t it be funny if I show up as Elizabeth I this year? I want to wear something fabulous and outrageous but it’s hard to beat the costumes on display at the ball! It’s the largest Halloween Ball on the East Coast – at least from what I know. Take a look at the picture of what I would look like:
My friends have made it a tradition to attend the ball every year. We think of our costumes way ahead of time in order to prepare for the great competition. The best one I saw last year was the group that always takes first place on this competition. Last year, they were snowflakes. Amazing costume in white with snowflakes that lit up over their heads. Their spandex littered with rhinestones, shone and every one wanted to have a picture with them. What original costume can I wear? Hmmm… Marie Antoinette?
I know exactly the place to look for costumes before they get mobbed. There is a secret HAUNTED HOUSE backdoor on the website, and upon entry – you will get a great discount! To get to the Backdoor: Go to the homepage halfway down on the right and click on the brown comma in the line that reads “Our Store now has over 8,000 masquerade items for you to choose from!”
Summer activities are fun, but safety must be your priority.
Once in a while, we get invited to go on a yacht here at the Philadelphia marina. Of course, it’s for days to enjoy the good weather – have some fun in the sun and usually, after we dock, we’ll have dinner right at the yacht and have wine or beer. It’s always a great time and our hostess, Miss Nina Savant would always serve us the best meals. She’s a Philadelphia socialite you know.
The one issue that people usually tend to forget is the responsibility that goes together with it. Boating can be a lot of fun and if done responsibly, you are sure to have a blast. Yet, there are people who get carried away and let alcohol rule their supposedly fun day. It’s a dangerous thing. Alcohol don’t mix with boating. People should be aware of its danger and should really pay attention to the law. We may say that college kids on a boat loaded with cases of beer is simply honest, youthful fun. That isn’t the case. Alcohol related deaths is rising. In Arizona, 2003 had 325 deaths. In 2006, they had 535. You can read Boating Operating Under the Influence for more information. It is always wise to receive Boating Education to make you aware of the responsibility that goes with boating. Like any other vehicle, you should drive responsibly and safely.Watch the Arizona Boating videos below to make you aware how much fun boating can be and how you should be responsible and exercise safety.
Your right to know?
Have you ever wondered if someone was messing with your computer, where they go and what they did? If you live with roommates, kids or if you suspect your husband to be cheating – how do you know what they do on your computer? People have become wiser over the years to wipe out any trace of activity on a PC or a laptop but the developers try to circumvent what people know and invent new things in order to provide people with information that they need.
Family Keylogger is a software that would allow you to find out where your kids go when they use the family computer. It’s so invisible, no one would suspect that the program is on. You will be provided with a key to unhide all activities done on a shared computer. It records every keystroke and provide the information on a text file. It can track emails sent, websites visited and even the applications that were launched while the user was using the computer. The software works on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0 , 2000, XP and 2003.
It has other uses as well. If you lose something while typing using a word processor and then your computer freezes up. Don’t we hate when that happens? Family Keylogger will allow you to retrieve up to the very last stroke that you did until the computer froze. Amazing huh?
If you fall into any categories above, you may want to look into it.
If they won’t go for a reunion, how about a trip?
We have been planning high school reunion here in the U.S. with my classmates but nobody seem to respond with excitement to any of our organized invitations. What is it? Is it the travel costs? Or is it the hassle of going traveling with their kids?
One classmate came up with a great idea. He wanted us to look at Used RVs and maybe turn this reunion in to an RV trip from Coast to Coast. In that way, no one has to travel except for us single ones and visit other classmates from State to State! I thought it was a brilliant idea since it will give us a chance to tour the U.S. and at the same time visit all of our classmates who have migrated to the U.S. regardless of where they are.
We are finalizing the details now and if ever the plan turns out right – we’ll be on our way in August. Do you want to join us? I think it will be fun. It’s like that MTV show – Road Rules! Hahaha!
My wildest vacation. It’s time to do it again.
I can remember my wildest vacation was spent in New Orleans. It was the summer, year 2001. We had a blast. It was Mardi Gras, the excitement was in the air and no one could have clouded our trip. It was the best vacation ever. After our stint on Bourbon street, the next morning, we decided to go on sightseeing tours around the city since it was my first time ever to be in New Orleans. That city is a great city and I would go back in a heartbeat.
But I don’t normally go back to places I’ve already been to. One place I have never been to is Atlanta. Okay, I’ve traveled through Atlanta airport but other than that, nada. I have heard many good things about Atlanta and I surely would like to visit. When I’m there, I would like to go sightseeing as well. I really enjoy sightseeing tours because I don’t have to plan anything on a city that I have never been to.
Things to do in Atlanta includes a Stone Mountain Park Adventure. The price is really reasonable and I would get to participate in the Lasershow Spectacular, or take the Paddle Wheel River Boat Cruise in Stone Mountain lake. I like heights as well so the Summit Skyride would be ideal for me too. I didn’t know how much outdoor activities Atlanta has until I saw the website for sightseeing tours.

My boss was very lucky.
My boss really isn’t my boss. Well, he was my buddy first before he became my boss. We hang out together a lot when we were younger and we did crazy things together as well. We are very close. I remember the time when he revealed to me soon after he got married that they were having a difficult time conceiving. He didn’t go much into details but I knew that they needed help in conceiving. They tried IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and after several tries – VOILA – they were pregnant.
I was there when their baby was baptized. I remember this sweet little healthy baby girl in my arms. She’s turning 10 this year.
He’s no longer my boss now. He’s moved on to another firm but we do keep in touch. He recently told me that they have been trying for the second one but were unsuccessful. I told him that it’s not too late and that they can still conceive. Searching the net, I found a certain Dr. Morris from Chicago who specializes in In Vitro Fertilization. He’s been featured on television, magazines and even on the internet. I was thinking of recommending my buddy to consult with him. Cause my buddy and his wife have tried so many times and this time around, it wasn’t successful.
I told him that if it wasn’t meant to be, it wasn’t meant to be – but one more try isn’t going to hurt. He’s considering it but we shall see.
Internet Service Providers – What to look for.
I have been having problems with my internet service provider in the last few weeks. My maid and I get frustrated when we come home from work because we cannot blog. We end up having to reset the cable modem each time in order to get a connection. And we have to do it more than once at times.
I wonder if it would be better if I switch and be able to connect instantly at high speed with a digital subscriber line ISP? I just don’t know how to find the best one. The internet provides many information about other companies but sometimes you just don’t know the companies well enough to switch.
My maid suggested that we Find an ISP provider and try them out. She pointed out to me that she read a Guide to choosing an Internet Service Provider online and really thought that it was a great way to weed out companies that are not suitable for our needs.
The site also provided us information on their Avoid Online Scams section teaching you not to give out personal or credit card information unless it is a secure site we’re on. Believe it or not, many people are still uninformed about online scams and get taken every day. It’s good to know that a site can provide useful and helpful tips to avoid being scammed online.
With this information, I should be able to rely on the knowledge it gave me on how I could look for another ISP and get us back online without much issues. We’ll see.
Motivate your maid to do more work around the house.
My maid is always complaining that she has a boring time cleaning the leaving room and the dining area because we don’t have a television down there. I have always made it a point to not have a television in the living room so that whenever I have people over, they are conversing instead of flicking the channels on the TV without any interaction to each other. I do have a flat screen TV in my bedroom and that room, she cleans really well!!
Since the living and dining room area are places where I entertain guests, I want my maid to clean it more often. When I purchased my flat sceen LCD TV two years ago, the price was still up there. I bought a 32″ flat screen TV and the price I paid then could buy me a 50″ LCD TV. I learned my lesson about that one. Since the prices have come down significantly, I am now considering purchasing one for the living room. Maybe I’ll get one to get my maid motivated to clean that area. You think?
Petro Wire & Steel – the elite steel supplier.
While working as a Custom House broker back in the early 90s, I remember working with a lot of steel companies in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Those were the glory days of steel manufacturers in the area. They can provide steel supply to almost anywhere in the country. Pennsylvania was big in manufacturing then. However, things have changed now and the area has moved from the manufacturing industry to a service industry. Pennsylvania suffered a big loss in the rise and fall of the steel and coal.
However, there has been a great resurgence in the steel manufacturing industry. Although no longer located in Pennsylvania, steel manufacturers and suppliers have perfected the process wherein improved just-in-time type of manufacturing reduced inventories and have now regained their strength once more. There are companies out there who now offer custom fabrication on all our products; this includes custom woven or welded wire cloth, custom expanded metal, custom perforated metal, custom fabricated bar grading and fiberglass grading. One company stands out. PWS.
At Petro Wire & Steel, being an elite steel supplier isn’t enough. It’s their service that brings customers back again and again. Their expertise in specialty steel and metal for petrochemical, architectural, construction, agriculture, mining, marine and security makes it easy to supply the desired product. That’s why they pride themselves on going beyond-taking it to the next level. That’s also why engineers are just as comfortable working with them on the right alloy for a specific chemical application as architects and designers are discussing the right look and the appropriate steel framing product. They may deal with wire and steel products, but what they really provide are solutions-and no two are exactly alike. Which is another way of saying they won’t hesitate to offer custom fabrication on all our products. It’s just one more way to make sure you get exactly what you want. If you can envision it, they can supply it.
They are the premier stainless steel supplier based in Houston, Texas with experience in specialty steel products for the petrochemical, architectural, construction, agriculture, mining and marine industries. PWS is considered the premier source for steel wire cloth, perforated metal, expanded metal, bar grating and fiberglass grating.
“Pinoy Idol” Top 24 show off their vocal prowess to the media
After American Idol, and our congratulations to David Cook – it’s time for the Pinoy Idol!! This could be as interesting as Pinoy Big Brother. Again, I never watched the American version of Big Brother but when I saw one episode of Pinoy Big Brother – I was instantly hooked. Call it cultural but I enjoyed it a lot more because I can relate. I love American Idol so I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to fall in love with the Pinoy Idol show. Goodluck to everyone!!
From more than 20,ooo applicants who came from different provinces all over the country, Pinoy Idol hopefuls were finally trimmed down to 24 contestants.
These 24 Idol aspirants were presented to the media last night, May 21, through their live performances at the Teatrino in Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan.
To greet the members of the press, the Idol hopefuls appeared on stage for a sing-and dance-performance of Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland.”
I’m turning 23!!!! It’s my birthday already?!
No big surprises here. Thanks to Malen for my first ever blog post greeting. And also, thanks to Agnes for being the first blogger to greet me a happy birthday over the phone over countless miles of phone cables and satellite transmissions. Actually, my birthday isn’t until this coming Saturday. I was going to hold a party but with my upcoming business trip to Europe, there wouldn’t be enough time to recover from it.
I just want to thank my friends, readers, and family who have supported me all the way in all my endeavors. You are all reasons for my success. I have a very busy schedule this coming weekend. Thanks everyone for your warm greetings. Mwah mwah mwah!
Hold on for one more day. =)
I was speaking to my friends in England. It was interesting because the way housing works in the U.K. is a bit differen yet similar in some other ways. Just like everywhere else, properties are always valuable investments and it shouldn’t deter you from obtaining one. He was telling me that you should be able to lease a flat and hold on to it for short and long term durations. The housing market today created a housing slump worldwide. There are probably some areas unaffected by this but the recession in the U.S. is probably similar to the economy in the U.K.
He was telling me that if he is to let go of his lease today, he may end up losing money on his capital investment. The only way he could hope to gain from his investment is to hold on to it longer until the market turns around and create profits once more. If you are in the same situation, his advice? RENEW YOUR LEASE. If your lease is short, or you are considering buying a flat with a short lease, then it is essential to renew the lease and to extend it. In this way you will add value to your flat and protect your capital investment. It is simple and it makes a lot of sense.
I am holding on to my property here in the U.S. as well even though the price has gone down considerably. It is now 10% lower in value than two years ago. 10% is not a joke, it is a lot of money. If holding on to my property will help me get obtain the highest bang for my capital investment dollar – that is exactly what I’m going to do.
Got iPhone?
No, I am not having a contest and I’m not giving away an iPone.
I do work in I.T. and I must tell you that it is the phone of choice for I.T. professionals. It’s not cheap. To get an iPhone, you have to shell out a lot of money. And when you do, you want to protect it don’t you?
I purchased an iPod Touch or iTouch and I had the same worries. I wanted to make sure that the screen won’t get scratched or the stainless backing wouldn’t get worn out. You can purchase the covers if you want but having your iPone or iTouch inside a cover seem to hide your pride and joy doesn’t it? Wouldn’t you want to show off your iPhone? There is a way to protect your iPhone and still show it off. Use an Invisible Shield iphone case. It’s precision cut to fit your iPhone is so perfect that you won’t even notice it has one on. You can protect the front and the back of the phone and it’s promised to be durable. The company offers a lifetime guarantee that if the shield scratches – they will provide you a replacement for free.
It’s durability is unmatched because the material was used by the military to protect helicopter blades from dust, dirt and debris. Imagine the protection your iPhone will get.
Keep your iPhone or iTouch new as if you just took it out of the box on the day that you got it. Use the Invisible Shield iphone case.
Are you worried about the economy. You should be.
We all have to wake up and smell the coffee sometime. The economy is looking bleak and prices of in demand commodities continue to rise. There is a global rice crisis and disasters all over are not helping any. Do you feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Bills pile up and the future is not so promising? How would you make your life better and be in a better position to ride this wave through? It’s time to re-evaluate your lifestyle and stop debt.
If you can get your finances in control without the haunting bills – would you do it? If you feel like you’re trapped and can’t get out of debt, there is help. Get your feet back on track and consolidate your debt or check out resources and options to give you peace of mind. It’s never too late. You wouldn’t want to wake up one day only to find out that what you work so hard for is gone, not because of anybody else’s doing but your doing. Do something about it now.

These five celebrities look different when they started their showbiz careers. Some of them had a different “packaging” when they were starting, and some even had a different career plan from who and what they are now in showbiz.

Gabby Concepcion and his manager ask court to junk P2.8M damage suit

Dolly Anne Carvajal reacts to Star Magic’s “one-sided hearsay” statement
Star Magic recently pointed out Dolly Anne Carvajal’s “unfair” treatment of her scoop on Kristine Hermosa’s alleged “attitude problem” in her column “Dollywood.”
The three articles—which were put out last April 14, 20, and May 12—failed to get the actress’s side of the story about her reported rift with Prinsesa ng Banyera director Andoy Ranay. This was according to the said talent center that runs the careers of some ABS-CBN stars.
Horizontal or Vertical? I’m talking blinds.
Now that summer is here, I want to let more light into my home. I have vertical blinds which is great but it’s not aesthetically pleasing and I really prefer mini blinds. My neighbor just had his done and it looks pleasing and let’s enough light into the house. I’m thinking of changing my vertical blinds to mini blinds.
Generally, I would prefer wooden blinds. It has that classy look to it. Maybe a cherry color or mahogany, I still haven’t decided but I’m definitely putting that on my home project list this summer. I think it would look great for the winter as well. Just thinking about things I should accomplish this year. Not too much and not too little.
My birthday in Shanghai, China
Time flies huh? It was just last year when I celebrated my birthday in Shanghai, China. It was great in a way because the people from our Shanghai Office surprised me with a “Green Tea” cake. Have you ever had Green Tea cake? It is awesome. Not so sweet and not so bland with a great clean flavor.
Then, later on in the evening, they took me to this restaurant where the bathroom is the most exciting part of the night. The restaurant is kind of modern, with dim lights and bridges. I have never crossed many bridges in my life let alone with little light but it was kind of cool. Then, they were all waiting for me to go to the bathroom. When I got there, I freaked out. It was a maze of mirrors. I had to find my way through – - and yes – - it was unisex. They even have a mock up toilet that I tried to go to.. it was hilarious. Needless to say, they were all laughing hysterically when I came out.
But this time, my birthday will not be as grand. I’m planning to have a small party at my home this weekend. You guessed it right. I haven’t sent invitations just yet and I better start calling people now if this party will ever happen. Gotta go! I need to text people!!!
Who’s the boss?
The Boss! You don’t know the Boss? If you’re a teenager in the 80’s, you would very well know Bruce Springsteen. He represents the epitome of the working class, and his songs represent exactly what we go through as individuals. The most memorable song for me is “Streets of Philadelphia”, the song he wrote for the movie of the same title. Springsteen’s lyrics often concern men and women struggling to make ends meet. He has gradually become identified with progressive politics. Springsteen is also noted for his support of various relief and rebuilding efforts in New Jersey and elsewhere, and for his response to the September 11, 2001 attacks, on which his album The Rising reflects.
It is very hard to find an artist as passionate as he is. You’re in luck because he is staging another concert. If you’ve never seen him in concert – this is the time to go. Reserve your Bruce Springsteen Tickets now. 80’s people – let’s get people mobilized. He is one artist you shouldn’t miss. One of the greatest artists of our time. He is staging his concert to promote his new album.
“The Boss” is back on tour in North America and Europe supporting his new album, Magic. Magic features hit “Radio Nowhere” and “Long Walk Home.”
“Magic” is up for several Grammy’s including “Best Rock Album,” “Best Rock Song” and “Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance”. Get great seats with Bruce Springsteen Tickets from TicketsToGo.com.
