If you live in the city, would you hold on to your car?
My sister lives in New York City with her husband and four kids. They don’t have a car because let’s face it, who really needs a car in New York. However, having four kids puts that situation in a different light. Most of the kiddie activities are outside the city. Theme parks are outside the city. Visiting Aquariums or going out of town on weekends. These are the moments where I feel for them.
But my sister doesn’t mind because she can rent a car anytime to go to places the kids want to go on weekends. Sometimes they’ll just drive to take the kids around and it costs them nothing but the rental cost and gasoline. She prepares the kids meals the night before and takes a cooler with them all day long.
The high cost of insurance, car payments and maintenance costs for having a car in New York City. Definitely, getting a car rental is the way to go.
