My grandma use to teach pre-school.
It’s as if it was only yesterday. My grandmom had a pre-school behind our house in Manila. All of the neighborhood kids went to school there. My grandmom was a teacher and she loved every minute of it. We had the best of times in that school. Everyone knew my grandmom. She was an inspiration to all of us so after she died at the age of ninety years old, my aunt decided that her memory must live on. She had the school rebuilt and hired teachers. The school has a high rate of enrollment that they had to expand it from pre-school to second grade.
My sister who has four kids, would like to retire from the corporate world and simply teach children. She wants to start a preschool around her neighborhood and is currently looking at all the costs involved including how much it would cost her to purchase preschool furniture.
She didn’t think about how much work she was into until she started looking into it. My grandmom had done it all her life. I guess it’s true when they said, “Find doing something that you love and you will never work a day in your life.” Now I see why.
