Christian Bautista wants to assure Dingdong Dantes he’ll take good care of Karylle

Gusto raw makilala ni Christian Bautista nang husto ang boyfriend ni Karylle na si Dingdong Dantes. Gusto raw kasing i-assure ni Christian kay Dingdong na maaalagaan niya nang husto ang girlfriend nito sa pagtatambal nila sa upcoming musical play West Side Story, produced by Stages.

First time na makakatrabaho ni Christian si Karylle at may ilang mga kissing scenes sila sa naturang musical play. Ayaw naman daw ni Christian na mailang sila ni Karylle sa isa’t isa habang ginagawa nila ang mga eksena nila sa musical.

“I think it’s only proper na I meet Dingdong personally and let him know na may mga ganito kaming scenes ni Karylle. Though I already met Dingdong, pero it was only a casual moment.

“Gusto ko ay yung magkausap kami like two gentlemen because I will be working with Karylle in this musical from September to October of this year. I just want to say that I will be taking good care of Karylle and he has nothing to worry about,” lahad ni Christian sa PEP sa press launch ng West Side Story last Thursday night, June 26.

Wala naman daw problema kay Karylle ang mga magiging kissing scenes nila ni Christian sa West Side Story dahil part daw talaga ng musical ang mga eksenang ‘yon.

“Our characters, Tony and Maria, are star-crossed lovers,” kuwento ni Christian. “Galing sila sa magkaibang race and to have a relationship was forbidden. So there will be lots of hugging, holding hands and, of course, may halikan din. Kasi nga, hindi nila alam kung kelan ulit sila magkikita or magsasama because bawal nga. It’s a beautiful love story and we want everybody to see it.”

Ang West Side Story ang first time ni Christian na magbida sa entablado after appearing sa iba’t ibang stage musicals. Ito rin ang comeback ni Karylle sa musical theater after her first musical The Little Mermaid a few years ago, kung saan nakasama niya sina KC Concepcion, Dianne dela Fuente, at Carol Banawa.

Kasama rin sa West Side Story sina Gian Magdangal, Pam G., at Joanna Ampil. This is directed by Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and musical director is Gerald Salonga. This will be staged at the Meralco Theater and tickets are available at Ticketworld (891-9999) or call Stages (818-1111 loc. 225). Ticket prices are P500 to P1,200.
