My friend Juan is asking me to move to Houston – I’m looking at Apartments
You may not know him but Juan is a person of interest on my part way back when. He is from Venezuela and works for a very large construction company and heads the procurement department. His job constantly transfers him from place to place wherever he is needed. He has lived in New Jersey, New York, California and now he is being transferred to Houston. I met him at a birthday party and we instantly became very good friends at that moment . We exchanged phone numbers and the rest was history. Things didn’t work out for us as a couple due to many mutual reasons but our friendship has managed to survive.
I got a call from him saying that he is being transferred to Houston. Although I’ve never been to Houston, it seems just the right time for me to move. I’ve lived in the Philadelphia area for ten years now and I don’t usually stay put in one place for more than five years. Just for fun, I checked out Houston Apartments and they do have great apartments there that costs a lot less than it would cost us here in Philadelphia.
I didn’t know that looking for Apartments online has evolved. I remember when I was looking for apartments in Philadelphia while living in California and the sites weren’t that great. Now you have virtual tours and details that the sites didn’t provide then. And you can even go to one site and find an apartment anywhere in the United States. Ten years ago, I would have to locate the site for the apartments at the exact location where I am moving to. This time one site provides all.
I’m still deliberating at the moment because I have begun to settle in this area. I have most of my friends here and I already bought a house. I told Juan that if the right opportunity presents itself, I will move. Although, right now – I don’t think moving to Houston would be a great career move for me. I will visit him though. Maybe during the winter time when everything is frozen here on the east coast. 
I lived in Houston for 15 months. I had a house in Midtown, which I loved. And then I moved to a rented place which I also enjoyed–very professional, great pool, fairly spacious flats. 36sixty is the name of the apartment complex. A few of my friends from the TV station I used to work at still reside there. Their website is 36sixty.com
Just heed my advice: stay INSIDE THE LOOP. I don’t care what anyone else says about Sugarland or anywhere else, STAY INSIDE THE LOOP.
Head for MFA and Menil Collection off the bat. Try this hole-in-the-wall
place called ELl Pollo Riko for great chicken and Fung’s Kitchen for dimsum.
