GMA-7 allows Paolo Contis to finish one season of TV5’s “Midnight DJ”
Nabulabog ang production ng Midnight DJ show ng TV5 nang naisulat namin dito na hindi papatapusin ng one season ang main star and title roler nila na si Paolo Contis, ayon na rin sa confirmation ng kanyang manager na si Lolit Solis last Friday, August 8, sa presscon ng Loving You.
At that time, the decision was for Paolo to leave the show immediately after the fifth episode na natapos niyang ma-tape, not knowing na kinabukasan, Saturday, August 9, taping naman ng sixth episode. Hinahanda na rin ang seventh episode for the Monday night opener ng TV5 na actually ay sumasabay ng ilang minuto against GMA-7’s Codename: Asero ni Richard Gutierrez, kung saan nasa cast din si Paolo.
Nag-meeting ang TV5 and Manay Lolit. Nag-request naman si Manay Lolit sa Kapuso network na payagan nang tapusin ni Paolo ang full season ng Midnight DJ. Kapipirma pa lang ng exclusive contract ni Paolo sa GMA-7, pero nauna na siyang nakatango sa said TV5 show.
For his new contract with GMA-7, Paolo was given another show, the Tuesday show of the “Bilib Ka Ba Nights” na World Records from a canned Japanese show where Paolo will do the local spiels.
Balitang pumayag na raw ang GMA-7 sa request dahil ilang episodes na lang ang natitira sa first season. Pagkatapos ng first season, kung itutuloy ng TV5 ang Midnight DJ, malamang na magpalit na lang ng bida o iangat ang character ni Desiree del Valle o ni Jenny Miller playing station manager and show manager of Paolo, respectively.
Midnight DJ is directed by a freelancer who also does GMA-7 shows, si Lore Reyes.
