Small wins, big difference!
I am a member of the board of directors of our townhome association. I have become a member due to promptings from the other directors, courting me and my next door neighbor to become part of the board several years back. I remember all the decisions we had to make from roof replacement, structural repairs, signs regarding parking and all sorts of different rules we had to implement to better our neighborhood. We even had to decide to remove beautiful weeping willow trees, replace the mulch with gravel and hire termite control services to control termites that were about to ruin our complex. The plans have worked even with a few disagreements within the board members. I am quite grateful that I can actually say that I am part of why our association and our neighborhood is on the shape that it’s in today. It’s kind of stressful but I noticed that it has paid off really well.
