I’m glad it was a false alarm.

I was so shocked when I read Pusang Maganda’s entry about her HSBC account. It seems funny now if I think about it but it must have been a crazy day for her if you think about it. She has a credit card from HSBC and when she checked her balance, she was told that she was one hundred fifty thousand pesos overdrawn. She doesn’t know how that could have happened because she doesn’t even buy anything remotely expensive that would amount to something like that. Until she confirmed that HSBC had a glitch in their computer systems and she was told that they are currently working on the issue and it should be resolved soon. Imagine the situation and you would go nuts too! What if someone had stolen her identity? Whew! I’ve heard so many horror stories about that..

That is why I wrote this entry is to have everyone of you take a look at lifelock.com. It is a service that prevents identity theft.
Life Lock will offer up to a million dollars should your identity get hacked while using their service. They call themselves, America’s #1 Identity Theft Prevention Program. And rightfully so! If you are the CEO of a company and to prove that they can protect you, he publishes is social security number on magazines and billboards, he must feel really confident about the program. Imagine the risk of displaying his full name and Social Security number just to make a point?

And besides, you don’t have to take his word for it. Go to their site and read the LifeLock reviews. They report all kinds of data security breach that occurs almost everyday. If you think your bank is secure, think again. Read up on tips and tricks from their blog on how you can prevent identity theft. It surely doesn’t cost you a penny to do that. Make sure you keep your data secure, everywhere you go or have Lifelock do it with a million dollar guarantee.
