With less than a year remaining to find the actress for the role of Kim—the lead character of the tragic Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil opera—the team behind the West End musical Miss Saigon, led by Sir Cameron Mackintosh, were all feeling desperate.
The production team held a string of auditions in the hope of discovering a competent Asian actress-singer fit for the part of a Vietnamese bar girl who falls in love with an American soldier in the midst of the Vietnam War.
Their London quest to find Kim failed and the producers found themselves starting all over from scratch.

Chuva Chienes will be holding a “Goodbye Summer” party in the next couple of weeks. It was a great summer. Although there weren’t many activities involved, it was well-spent with friends and family. My being away in Germany for a month put a little damper on several family affairs since I wasn’t able to make it to my niece’s daughter’s Christening – but she understood.

I need to get organized… I’m about to start classes again. Arrgghh!
I have always been a pack rat. I keep everything from bus tickets, to movie tickets. I also keep any of my graded papers from class. I don’t know. The fact that I work so hard on these papers make me want to keep them forever. The problem with this is that I create a stack of class papers in my study that sometimes, it gets in the way of the real stuff that I am doing (like studying for example). I want to start this semester with a fresh start. I want a clean study with no clutter and with proper lighting.
Last week, I was at the store and thought, “Hmmm, maybe I should get organized and purchase file folders to keep the papers that I have stacked all over my study.” It worked! I purchased a few file folders and it’s a great start. I labeleled every single one with the course, the semester and year. I can now go to my study and see the neatly labeled folders and I can actually go back and review the papers that I’ve written way back to the very first semester when I started taking classes. One thing about it that provided me with the best benefit is being able to sit in my study and concentrate. There are no papers laying around, my desk is neatly organized and labeled with whatever I need.
All I need to practice now is how to keep up with it that it doesn’t return to the way that it was last semester. Hey, if I can do it – anyone can. Get organized before school starts. It’s going to do you a lot of good.

I received an email from my neighbor *(and a good friend) Mike. He’s a cop and he was actually voted as number one cop for 2008 here in Camden County, NJ where I reside. I don’t know about all of you out there but do you see that America is in bad shape? If we keep on where we are headed today, good life could be taken away from each and every one of us.
This is election year and we must think deeply as we step into the voting booths this coming November. What do I want for my future? What about my children? My country? What can I do to change things?
The email I received was so simple yet I felt it to the core. It’s something I never thought of but it happens not only here in the U.S. but in our beloved Philippines as well. Let’s not settle for the free corn. Let’s not be fenced in. Let’s do something. ROCK THE VOTE!!!

In case you didn’t know…New Jersey Rocks!
Okay folks. I live in New Jersey and work in Philadelphia. Most of my friends are from Pennsylvania and they always joke around when we’re at a bar and someone asks me where I live. Whenever I answer Jersey, jokingly – the person will look at me with puppy dog eyes and say, “Oh, I’m so sorry.” Come on guys! Jersey is great! I love it here. I researched a lot of things about Jersey and it actually makes me proud. We have the highest ratio of college-educated students across the country. We also have the highest percentage of families who have graduate degrees. Not only that, we have New Jersey waterparks that we can boast of. If you haven’t been to Wildwood New Jersey, I must tell you that you should take your family before summer is over.
If you’re seriously looking for a family beach vacation, New Jersey is the place to go. Morey’s Piers is the best amusement park in New Jersey. I remember my brother and sister-in-law used to take yearly vacations there. They said that in the summer, there are plenty of things to do and if you want to just relax, you can do that as well. They have specials for every day of the week that could save you money as well so if you are planning to go, make sure you check out their specials first.

Well, as you may have known already – I was a bit excited during the latter part of last year when I found out that Hillary Clinton was running for President. I rooted for her, followed her all the way to the bitter end. I have friends who were staunch supporters of Hillary as well but now, they have turned and said that they will vote for McCain because their candidate didn’t make it and that they don’t know Barrack Obama well enough to vote for him.
Come on peeps… that’s not the point! The point is that we are bound to get another four years of the same thing. We need a change and if Barrack is our only hope to have that change, so be it. Set the bitterness aside and unite. That’s the only way.

I am not feeling well these days….
I am not feeling well. Yes bords!! I have been feeling like this for a while now, maybe three months? I usually run out of breath very easily. I have been to my doctor several times now and have done tests after tests to no avail. I’m not really sure what it is. They couldn’t find out and I don’t know what’s going on. I do smoke so I know that it’s one of the things causing this issue. I am constantly fatigued and I don’t know why. I tried going to bed early, eating the proper diet, taking vitamins and all but still, I feel the same way.
