Brothers & Sisters – Have you ever watched it?
I have been on a Brothers & Sisters DVD marathon since last week. I really love that show and no one can pry me away from the tube if I’m watching. I just get myself a glass of wine (or two) and watch the DVDs. I have been sleeping late every night because I cannot stop when an episode ends. I need to find out what happens next. I am trying to get my friend into it as well. I lent him the First Season while I started the Second Season last weekend. He hasn’t started watching yet because he still has all his shows that he’s following like Amazing Race, Charm School and all that.
Anyway, I was at the part now where Tommy’s wife is finally pregnant. They were excited about it and found out that they are actually having twins. They were thinking of baby names and when they found out that it’s a boy and a girl, they decided to name the boy “William”, under Tommy’s dad’s memory. I didn’t realize how important that was and why people do that but it made perfect sense. It’s a way to keep the memory of a person alive and well. People do that today and they always will. Naming your baby is really as important as the meaning behind it. I don’t know if I will ever have the chance to name a baby unless I have my own. I wonder what would be a good name for a baby girl? Hmmm.
Pregnancy could be tough too! I am now at the part where Kitty inadvertently got pregnant, while Robert McAllister is running for president. Then she suffered a miscarriage. It must be devastating for first-time would-be moms to have to go through that. They do have things that you can do to prevent miscarriage at best. Pregnancy, week by week changes so much that if you’re not careful, could definitely affect the baby’s health. There is so much drama on the show it’s so realistic that I can’t stop watching! Going to disc number two, Season Two – tonight.

During this time of year, I know most of us travel during the holidays. Our family Christmas celebration will be held in NYC this year. I am coordinating flights and hotels for out-of-town relatives so that we can enjoy the holidays together. Christmas in New York is a wonderful experience and if you haven’t tried it yet, you should really visit at least once. To experience the steam blowing up to the streets from the subways, the smell of roasting soft pretzels and the magnificent Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center are wonders to behold. It’s an experience you wouldn’t want to miss and will always remember forever.
I was getting worried about how I could arrange all these people coming in from Seattle, Florida, California and North Carolina for airport pick-up and take them to their respective hotels. Some folks are flying into JFK and some are flying into La Guardia. Most of them are staying in Manhattan to experience the holiday fully. Just imagine me having to pickup and drop off people at different times of the day – it could be chaos. That’s when I was glad I found the Laguardia Airport Shuttle. Philadelphia Phillies won the 2008 World Series!!! When’s the Parade?
It is with mixed emotions that I congratulate the Philadelphia Phillies for their win of the World Series Title!! It was very much anticipated and we are so glad!
On the other hand, I found out that my friend’s father had passed away. With elation comes grief and sadness.
I will be off blogging for now to pay respects to my friend’s dad.

The delay of the 6th installment of the Harry Potter Series to next year’s release wouldn’t make up for Warner Bros.’ recent release of another teaser/trailer to keep the fans of the series interested.
Why would we have to wait eight more months to see this film?! Sheezus!! They might as well cut my skin with a razor blade and squeeze lime on it!

Feel the pinch?! Oh yes – it’s time to cut down costs.
I’m trying to face the reality of this economy. It’s hard to swallow really because every price I look at, whether items for daily use or long term use – prices have gone up. I’m starting to see the effect of the economy in my wallet. And this is happening to someone who has saved fairly well and has prepared for any emergencies that may occur in life. I am still feeling the pinch. The pinch may not hurt that much YET, but I’m still feeling it.
Living in New Jersey doesn’t help either. This is the state with the highest car insurance rate in the country! I have been paying an arm and a leg for car insurance for years. I’ve learned to be creative and find the best car insurance rate in the market every two years. I think, with anyone who is cognizant of inflation and financial problems that may arise, you have to take precautions in order to get your expenses down and keep most of your savings up.
I went online and Googled the words “car insurance cheap” to find the best rate I could find within my area. I was glad to have found a site where I could get free auto insurance quotes with no obligation whatsoever. It’s during these times of financial hardship where we must find areas where we could cut costs. I have already reduced my cable down to basic. I don’t even get to watch TV anymore so why pay for the 200 plus channels right? I let go of my “extra” features on my home phone. Who uses their home phone these days anyway?
Times will get tough and we’ve already heard those from the financial experts. If you don’t try and save now, you might find yourself gasping for breath when the real financial trouble comes. Do something about it now!
SNL – Saturday Night Live with “Solid as Barack”!! Rockin’!!!!
With the election just a few days away, it’s fun to see SNL with all their Sarah Palin, Barack Obama spoofs. We all know that Sarah Palin’s appearance on SNL has shattered the record of viewers since Nancy Kerrigan’s appearance back in the 80s. Saturday Night Live is hot and rockin’ all over again. No Church Lady but the skits are funnier than ever.

New “Dayo” theme song performed by Roots of Nature

For using 2D and 3D technology, the upcoming local animated feature Dayo can be considered a breakthrough for the animation industry of the Philippines. Yet the movie is not just about good animation since it boasts a touching story and a theme song that truly inspires.
“Lipad” is not an ordinary movie theme song as it needed brilliant collaborative efforts from really talented musical artists so as to deliver a finished product worth the billing. No less than international star Lea Salonga was tapped to sing the universally appealing composition by Jessie Lasaten and Temi Abad, which is about believing in your dreams and making them come true. While Lea provides enough power to stir the song to great heights, “Lipad” leaps further with an alternative version recorded by new band Roots of Nature.

With the success of High School Musical Series, there is no stopping Zac Efron’s rise to stardom. A bevy of hit films under his belt as choreographer, Adam Shankman has been solidified as one of Hollywood’s most sought out man for dance moves. But it’s been as a producer that Adam has really found his brand of movies. With his Offspring Entertainment, Adam and sister/producing partner Jennifer Gibgot have proven those flicks – ‘funny with heart’ – are the way to go. Certainly, the “Step Up” flicks have proven their eyes are on the prize.
Last year’s Hairspray (which Adam also directed) brought out a shining star in Zac Efron. Of course, Zac was already a bonafied teen hottie with the Disney “High School Musical” franchise; however, Hairspray showed him off to a whole new audience

It’s that time of year again. Time for Philippine Ghost Stories…
I did this last year when I came back from my trip to Asia. I saw a series of books at National Bookstore while in Manila and thought it was interesting. I always enjoyed ghost stories. When we were little, there were plenty of times when power would go out in our neighborhood. The kids would then gather ’round a few candles while the adults tell stories of ghosts and gobblins. Just imagining the effects of the shadows being casted by the candles onto the walls while listening to those stories gives me the goosebumps to this very day.
To my readers – I am going to tell stories lifted from the “True Philipppine Ghost Stories Book 1″, with proper credit to the authors of course. I will pick the ones that I thought are scary enough to make the tip of your hair stand and share it with you. Isn’t that what we crave for before All Soul’s Day?

One of the best weddings I’ve been to in years.
I went to my neighbor’s wedding last week. I was more than surprised about this wedding that anything else. It was unexpectedly one of the best weddings I have ever been to in a very long time. The wedding was held at the Philadelphia Downtown Club, a structure that has been a private club for gathering of the elites since 1897. In 1995, the Club was transformed to a full service catering and conference center open to the public. The place is still in exquisite condition and you can actually see the history on the walls.
My neighbor has her own business. She’s in the bridal and prom dresses business. You could just imagine how beautiful her wedding gown was. She’s a buyer for several bridal and gown retailers and she is really doing well. If you had gone to this wedding, you know that they went all out. The cocktail hour started 10 minutes after the wedding. The wedding literally took just 10 minutes. We had all kinds of hors d’ oeuvres including escargot in garlic oil which I love. I will be posting pictures of the wedding soon. You will be amazed how much fun we had at that wedding. My maid will tell you on her blog I’m sure. It was definitely a blast.

In a semi-perfect world, there would be peace. The economy would be booming. The war would end. Until then, we have to keep hoping. And there is still hope.
In light of all the troubles we are all going through this time around, we should look at humour and cling to it with all our might. We may be in this for the long haul.

I am used to rushing things. I never want to wait in line or wait whenever I’m meeting someone. That is why when I’m meeting anyone, I am usually the one who’s late – for the simple fact that I hate waiting. That has been me for the last “many ever” years. But you grow and you learn. You should not always keep other people waiting. You should learn to wait as well.
The development in this saga of JOSHKO relationship is kinda interesting. I am in no way in love. I am infatuated – YES, but NOT in love. It is a development of a friendship that proves what relationship it would be in the future. It’s not the end of the world. Rushing things as everyone knows it, may lead to disaster.
Working as a PM, I know exactly what that is. You release a software on time “half-cooked”, and you will spend years in fixing the bugs until one day, you will probably decide to scrap the product. So, why not work diligently in planning, study the logic and then code. Right? It’s easier to move boxes around before it is coded. Right now, I’m moving boxes around. I’m taking it – - ONE STEP AT A TIME.
