Like everyone else who were skeptical about Twilight (a vampire romance by Stephanie Meyer) and why it is such a hit among moviegoers, I wanted to find out what all the fuzz was about.  I saw the movie the other day and to my surprise, I was drawn to it like I have never been drawn to anything since “Interview with a Vampire”.

Maybe it’s because I am a hopeless romantic or maybe it’s because I am drawn to always loving the unreachable, the improbable. Or simply, I may just be one who still look forward to that ideal relationship that is probably not real. I am a sucker for love stories.

Ever since I watched the movie, I made it my goal to read the Twilight series. I haven’t been to the bookstore yet. I was looking for the book online and found a free download site. You can download all four books for free (and if you’re not sure if you’re going to like it, don’t run spending your hard-earned money just yet).

Mark Wahlberg – caught peeing on wall – - red-handed. Yikes!

Mark Wahlberg was caught peeing when he couldn’t hold “nature’s call” anymore after his lunch with friends in LA yesterday. He appeared a bit mad when the camera started shooting. More photos here.

Mga peeps!  Chikahan to da max talaga.  According to ShowbizJuice dot com – - Nabalitaan daw ng Megastar na si Sharon Cuneta sa mga kaibigan niya na bina-bad-mouth daw ni Anne Curtis ang said na balak panliligaw ni Sam Milby kay KC Concepcion.  Hindi raw magaganda ang mga pinagsasasabi ni Anne Curtis about KC Concepcion!

Is there any truth to this?  May katotohanan ba ang mga chikang ito?  Ang balita, eto raw ang sinabi ng Megastar:

It’s that time of year again. Thanks to all my faithful readers, my blogger friends and most of all, my family with their undying love and support. Let’s pause for a moment to give thanks for all the blessings we have received. It’s a time to think about the people less fortunate as well as we partake of the bountiful meals. Share and give.

Blogger burnout. Is there such a thing?

I’ve been a blogger for about a year and a half now.  It’s not uncommon to see blog open up and close down within a few months or within a year.  The latest victim of the “blogger burnout” is Manila Gay Guy.  I have admired his writing and he has a lot of subscribers as well.  He interacts well with his readers and that is the reason why they keep coming back.  I read from a post at Corporate Closet that MIGS has decided to close down his blog. It came as a surprise to me (or maybe not).

Blogging is fun. You meet all kinds of people and you enjoy the interaction with them, let alone the income that comes with it if you become successful. However, it can take a real toll on your personal life most especially if blogging becomes a duty and not a hobby anymore. Many people start blogging for the fun of it and some people blog for the income that comes with it.  And when you find yourself compromising a lot just to blog, it can burn you out.

I am not saying that Migs burnt out. I’m sure that it was well thought-out when he decided to close down. I just hope that I get to survive the blogger burnout.

On December 1, Danielle Radcliffe will be featured on “Inside the Actors Studio”. He discusses how comfortable he is getting naked in front of an audience every night as he portrays Alan Strang in the Broadway play Equus. They then talk about erections. I think he’s answered it well. His interview is fun. You can tell he’s definitely a smart guy.

Nude pics in phone lost at McDonald’s get online

Here’s some food for thought: If you have nude photos of your wife on your cell phone, hang onto it.

Phillip Sherman of Arkansas learned that lesson after he left his phone behind at a McDonald’s restaurant and the photos ended up online. Now he and his wife, Tina, are suing the McDonald’s Corp., the franchise owner and the store manager.

As I predicted: ‘Twilight’ takes $70.6M bite out of box office

 

LOS ANGELES – Audiences found the vampire romance “Twilight” infectious in its opening weekend, pushing the movie to a take of $70.6 million.

Catherine Hardwicke’s film also enjoyed the biggest opening ever for a female director, blowing away the previous standard of $41.1 million set by Mimi Leder’s “Deep Impact” in 1998.

Drawing from its huge fan base of teenage girls, who fell for Stephenie Meyer’s novel of forbidden love between brooding vampire Edward Cullen and bookish high schooler Bella Swan, “Twilight” made a whopping $20,636 per theater, according to Sunday morning estimates.

And the fangirls will get another taste soon enough: Summit Entertainment, which released “Twilight,” announced during the weekend that it’s going ahead with production of “New Moon,” based on the second book in Meyer’s internationally best-selling series. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will return as its star-crossed lovers, but whether Hardwicke will be at the helm again is still being determined.

Uhuh! This may be old news but the “expose” of our little big Prince William just brought back some awesome stuff from the past.   I remember whe Peter Wentz was an unknown nobody.  Well well… he got know real real fast when he started sending text photos of his genitals to a girl (NOTE: NSFW)  using his Sidekick Cell phone back in 2006.  Do you remember?  Probably not, so I would like to remind you.

Kookiberks have spoken. They don’t want Sam Milby courting KC Concepcion

A few days ago, I put out a poll just to find out if the rumored “courtship plans” of Sam Milby to court KC Concepcion would be acceptable to Kookiberks around the globe.  Well, they have spoken and they don’t want Sam Milby.  The Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion tandem seemed most effective to Kookiberks all over.  There were a few who approved the Sam Milby and KC Concepcion pair-up but it didn’t amount to much.

Alam ninyo naman, si Chuva ay masiyahin na tao.  Tanungin ninyo sina Malen, Pusa, o kaya si Bluep.  Nakakusap nila ko sa phone.  It’s very rare that she gets annoyed with any of the comments on this blog and if she does, she just takes care of it by using the power of the “delete” button.  It’s not that difficult.  Meron din namang time na nakikipagtalo rin kung nasa lugar.  This is not rocket science.  Blogging is fun and reactions are expected whether it be negative or positive.

Pero may mga panahon na napupuno din ang banga ni Chuva.  It’s not because she’s in a bad mood, or she’s simply taking revenge on people out of the blue.  Legitimate din ang “blogslapping” kung deserve nung tao na ma-blog slap sya.  Binigyan na nga ako ng Holy Water ng kapatid kong si Bluep para isaboy sa mga inggiterang umaaligid-aligid diyan. Natawa lang ako. Hindi dapat Holy Water ang ibinigay niya sa ‘ken, kung hindi “sibat” para ipudyok ko sa mga dibdib ng mga inggiterang mga yan.

I didn’t realize the madness that swept the Philippines when Friendster came out.  It was like a snowball – avalanche effect.  The number of users of Friendster from the Philippines outnumbered any country in the modern and not-so-modern world.  Why is that?  Because they found a connection to the world.  A place where you can be silly and express yourself.  Friendster was down for a few days last week due to a virus.  An it was amazing how people flocked to the famous rival social networking site, “Facebook”.
