There comes a time in our lives when we are caught unprepared. Whether it’s to weather a storm, or to welcome an unexpected occasion with glee. It is when we feel that we are a part of this big universe we know so little about. The past year has been quite a roller coaster with emotions. It was to say goodbye to old friends and to welcome new ones. Chuva has met so many wonderful people in 2008. From the blogosphere to her travels for work, Chuva was blessed with so much.
I write to thank everyone who supported Chuva Chienes dot com in 2008. We will have more surprises for you this coming year – much more scandalous and juicy gossips! Please note however that this site is for pure fun and entertainment only. I don’t intend to belittle or offend anyone. It is what it is.

We always thought Prince William will be the ladies’ man when he grew up. Boy! We were soooo wrong. Prince Harry has turned from an ugly duckling to this perfect swan. He’s hot, he’s got vibe and certainly – he’s got style. (And yes, he still has a full head of hair!)

A successful New York City Holiday!!!
I had the best time in NYC during the Christmas Holidays. You all probably know (*at least my regular readers here) that we decided to spend Christmas in New York. It was a decision we made back in July to make sure that all members of the family could make it and well enough in advance so we can discuss who’s bringing what and so forth. The plan worked! We did our exchange gifts program through Elfster and then we planned a mini trip for the kids to go to Manhattan and see the show at Radio Music Hall.
The first priority for the logistic planning was to make sure everyone arriving at the airport be picked up and taken to my sister’s house safely for the family reunion. Since we’re all coming from out-of-state, it would be really difficult to have my brother-in-law pick up everyone from the airport. Have you heard about SUV car service nyc that provides transfer between La Guardia and JFK airports in NYC? It’s great~! It didn’t matter whether our relatives arrived in JFK or La Guardia airports – - we got them covered using this service. It can even provide transportation using a VIP SUV to and from Westchester, New York City and Connecticut if need be! That took care of our logistics issue and everything went smoothly because of this service. Thank goodness for that! Picking up and dropping people off would not have been the most ideal holiday for me.

Nakausap si KC Concepcion sa backstage ng Sofitel Harbor Tent matapos ang performance niya sa Katy The Musical noong Sabado ng gabi, December 27. Very ecstatic pa rin ang feeling ni KC matapos ang kanyang pinakabagong experience performing on stage.

I was tagged by Normand, a semi-lurker on my blog who would comment once in a while. I enjoy reading his blog as well. Although his entries are fairly short, it is profound and very personal. I am now (at least I think so) friends with him and we leave each other comments on each other’s blog and at times, my blogger friends would tease me. It is a video of a “wish” for two individuals with parallel (well, almost) lives. One is a Prince, and the other – played parts of a Princess.

I just want to share an incident in Tiendesitas involving Deejay Durano. It is Sunday December 21, 2008. We were having our Christmas shopping in a bazaar in Tiendesitas Pasig with my family. I was holding our pet Dog (it was a shih tzu) while looking for some toys my inaanak then somebody step on my right foot. It was painful so I shouted “aray” (I was wearng slippers that time, then the guy who step on my foot didn’t bother to say sorry instead he just looked at me and ignore what was happen. I made few steps away from him check my right foot for any injury and for my dismay I exaggeratedly said “sorry ha”. I was talking to my girlfriend sharing her that incident (we were about 3-5 meters away from him), I again look at him then I recognize that he was Deejay Durano. I was very mad that time then said (P****) to myself (he was too far to hear it). I didn’t know that he was looking at me, he then approached me and said bluntly, “pare anu ba problema mo” (I’m just 5 ft tall he was looking down on me). I said “bro nakaapak ka”. He then said “bakit mo ko minumura”, I replied “expression ko yun, sino di magagalit nakaapak ka di ka man lang nag sorry. During that time I was very mad, we were just about 1 foot away from each other. He was so arrogant and saying provocative languages…

Several days ago, we had what you call an “Indian Winter Day” where it was unusually warm for the season. I was still able to wear shorts and a T-shirt while walking Jake outside. I believe the temperature was in the ’60s and a little bit humid. It’s freezing cold here now. I need to wear layers, a scarf, gloves and a beanie just to keep warm. It’s better this way though because Christmas is supposed to be like this.

You all know her. Yes ma’m! Beyonce’s latest album, “I Am Sasha Fierce” has been out for quite some time now. It is a great album and I must say, I really love the single, “Single Ladies”. I’ve featured the album here before and also the spoof videos including the one and only Shane Mercado doing the Single Ladies routine.
But I am here to introduce you to our one-and-only member of the Butse Gang. Miss Tasha Pears. Bakit Pears? Eh kasi korteng peras yung katawan niya!! Hahaha!! Joke Joke! I met Tasha Pears about 10 or 11 years ago. We were at a nighclub in Philadelphia called Shampoo. A bunch of friends and I went out to have a good time. Tasha overheard us conversing in Tagalog. Since she was new here in Philadelphia (a flight attendant by profession), he latched on to me like a fly on a pile of shit. She never let go!
We have been friends ever since. We’ve traveled together (single pa sha nun) to Puerto Rico, London, and Milan. Hindi po libre yun! Binayaran ko po ang fare ko. Pero in fairness, on our trip to London – she bumped me up to Business Class. O diba?

Karylle explains her mysterious smile on “The Buzz”
One of the things that Karylle looked forward to when she decided to transfer from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN was her opportunity to perform with her mother, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, in various Kapamilya shows.
Last Sunday, she was able to sing with her mom for the first time in ASAP ‘08, where she was also given a grand welcome by other Kapamilya stars. Last night, December 16, Karylle performed again with Zsa Zsa during the taping of ABS-CBN’s Pasko Na, Kapamilya: The ABS-CBN 55th Anniversary Special at
the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The mother and daughter performed with other celebrity parents and kids, like Gary Valeciano with children Paolo, Gab, and Keana; Pops Fernandez with son Ram; and Kuh Ledesma with daughter Isabella.
Karylle admitted that she was overwhelmed by the greetings she got from her new network family.

I read from the paper this morning that there is a shortage of Bollywood actors that a new Bollywood acting school (more like a dancing school) opened up in London. It was the creation of the phenomenal movie dad (Anupam Kher ) from Bend it Like Beckham. It opens up the window for aspiring actors to be a part of the largest film industry in the world.
I heard that people come from as far as the United States and Pakistan to enroll at this newly-opened school. And if it becomes successful in London, a branch might open up in Los Angeles.

Hey New York – - here we come!!
The holidays are most enjoyable in New York City. I don’t know the exact reason why but in so many ways, I feel that New York is the best place to be during the holidays. There’s your Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, and then the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center, the Christmas Day Parade and then – of course, the world renowned New Year’s Celebration on Time Square!
Fortunately, I have family up and down the East Coast. You can go from Boston to Florida and find a place to stay for free!! Haha! This Christmas holiday, our family decided to spend it in New York City. It’s a grand reunion of all siblings and their kids.. just imagine that. It will require a lot of activity to not have everyone turn on each other and ruin this reunion. My nieces and I are the planners for this reunion and we thought about
New York Bus Charters. This would be a good way to get the kids out of the house and the adults as well. We are trying to assign a couple of adults one day to take the kids while the other adults go shopping. You can have a Super Tour of New York City or Downtown Tour that could provide mid to high-end shopping in East Village, Union Square, Greenwich Village. It’s done on a hop-on/hop-off style where you can simply shop to your heart’s desire.
Oh yes – - we’re thinking of watching the Christmas Special at Radio City Music Hall as well.. we are going to make this a tradition.
