Luis Manzano admits misunderstanding with girlfriend Angel Locsin
Entertainment Live host Luis Manzano laughed at rumors saying that he and girlfriend Angel Locsin have broken up. The couple’s presence at the Breakthrough Event of AVON this afternoon, January 21, at The Peninsula Manila Hotel even proved that everything is well between them.
Luis, who joined Angel as an endorser of AVON, explained to the media, “Let’s put it this way, nagkaroon ng napakaliit na problema, naayos na namin. And kung paano kami dati, safe to say na we’re stronger than ever, just like anything minsan, napagdadaanan ng tao. Pero definitely, no questions asked, naayos na namin.”
The actor-TV host was also honest enough to say that he made the first move to fix their small misunderstanding.
“Ako, of course,” admitted Luis. “But then, just like anything, kung may problema, you need efforts from both sides.”
What did he do to patch things up between him and Angel?
“Alam niyo, pinuntahan niya ako sa bahay na umuulan pa,” quipped Luis. Then, he seriously continued, “Hindi sa nagmamalinis, kung anuman ang naging issue naming dalawa, walang pwedeng i-pinpoint na may kasalanan. It was completely an issue between us talaga. Wala siyang nagawang kasalan, wala akong nagawang ano, kumbaga nagkaroon lang ng kaunting issue.”
Later on, he also cleared the rumors about the “cool off” issue. He told the media, “Wala not even… walang cool-off na nangyari. For example, nagtampuhan kayo, ganyan, nagkatampuhan kayo na naayos in what… three day, two days.”
The son of Edu Manzano and Gov. Vilma Santos also explained that little misunderstandings are just normal in a relationship.
He further said, “You know, if may taong nabuhay ng walang problema, napakahirap, di ba? Life wouldn’t be worth-living kung walang problema. Tama naman ang sinasabi nila na hindi mo pwedeng makuha lahat ng sabay-sabay. Kahit gaano ka ka-successful sa buhay, sa pag-ibig, sa career, mayroon at mayroon kang pagdadaanan. But that does not mean na it’s not worth-living anymore.”
SHOW US THAT RELIABLE SOURCE. One reported reason that have caused the rift between Angel and Luis was a rumored third party, who allegedly gave Angel a house and lot in an exclusive subdivision.
“Sana nga po makausap namin ‘yong mga reliable sources, kasi parang mas kilala pa nila kami ni Angel kaysa sa sarili namin,” commented Luis.
But is he really “seloso” when it comes to romantic relationship?
“Hindi,” answered Luis. “Seloso ako pero hindi ako ‘yong nang-aaway na seloso. Seloso siguro ako dahil nagpapalambing selos, hindi dahil nang-aaway na selos.”
How about the issue on Angel’s Facebook account, where the status was changed from “in a relationship” to “no longer listed as in a relationship.”
Luis explained, “Magkasama kami noon, magkatabi kami noon. Sabi ko, ‘Ayan tuloy ang daming nag-iisip ng kung anu-ano. Nagsisimula na naman ang mga speculation ng ibang tao.’ But we completely understand and thank them for their concerns.”
Then, Luis later on gave his gratitude to people who were concerned about their relationship. He said, “Nakaka-touch na may concern sila sa kung anumang meron kami. Napapa-smile kami doon sa mga sinasabi nilang, ‘Hindi totoo ‘yan.’ May mga, ‘Ang cute nilang tingnan, sana hindi [totoo],’ nakaka-touch.”
Aside from this, Luis also appreciated his parents’ silence about the whole issue.
He stated, “It goes to show kung paano nila nirerespeto ang privacy ko at nirerespeto ang privacy namin ni Angel. Pero hindi sila nagkulang, especially si Mommy [Vilma Santos] sa pagche-check kung kumusta na kaming dalawa.
“Kahit si Angel, alam niya ‘yon. ‘Yong mga text sa akin ni Mommy, pino-forward ko pa sa kanya. Nag-text din si Mommy sa kanya. Ganun ka-concern si Mommy sa aming dalawa ni Angel.”
AFRAID TO LOSE ANGEL. Although the issue has ended with a good news, Luis couldn’t deny that he got worried thinking about the possibility of losing his girlfriend.
He related, “Of course, she’s a very, very big part of my life. The thought of losing her would definitely scare me any minute of the day. So, ako ‘yong the fact na nagkaka-distance kayong dalawa, that would be enough to get you thinking and make you realize to reassess your priority.”
What made him decide to break his silence about the issue, which broke during the first week of Angel’s movie Love Me Again (Love Down Under)? when he was all quiet before?
Luis defended, “Wala talaga kaming planong magsalita about the hiwalayan. But there are certain concerned parties. At a certain degree, nandoon pa rin ang respeto ko doon sa pelikula nila, the same way na kahit inimbitahan ako ng Star Cinema I decided not to go.”
With what happened, what was the lesson that he and Angel have learned from it?
“Siguro it falls down to one word or two: better communication,” stated Luis.
