“Jay” and “God Only Knows” win in Berlin film fest
Last December, PEP reported that the Cinemalaya 2008 entry Jay and two other short films—God Only Knows and Ambulancia—were competing in the 2nd Asian Hot Shots Berlin.
Earlier today, PEP received confirmation that Jay and God Only Knows both won First Prize in the Asian Hot Shots Berlin – Festival for Film and Video Art. These two Filipino films bested entries in from Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and India.
Luis Manzano admits misunderstanding with girlfriend Angel Locsin
Entertainment Live host Luis Manzano laughed at rumors saying that he and girlfriend Angel Locsin have broken up. The couple’s presence at the Breakthrough Event of AVON this afternoon, January 21, at The Peninsula Manila Hotel even proved that everything is well between them.

Slumdog Millionaire is worthy of an Oscar
The movie Slumdog Millionaire which garnered 4 Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, and Best Director – Danny Boyle was a pleasant surprise. I normally become interested in a film after the Golden Globes hands their awards and then watch the films to see if the choices were appropriate. Slumdog Millionaire, being chosen for Best Picture – Drama was right on. I watched this movie last night and there was not a dull moment during the entire film.
At first, I felt bad because of the scenes. The slums, dirt, poor, and crowded streets filled with garbage was the opening of the film. As you follow the story, those scenes were necessary to let your emotions follow each shot. I laughed, I cried – I fell in love. Jamal, Salim and Latika will take you on a journey you will never forget. The cinematography and musical score is unbelievable. This film was more than what I expected and if you haven’t seen it yet, I encourage you to do so.

I was looking through my archives today because of this tedious task I have of moving my blogs from one hosting site to another. I saw a post I did back in March of 2007 (as I’ve told you all before, this was a personal-turned-celebrity-blog-chorva), and it just reminded me how good it is to feel loved. You can laugh things off and share things with the person that matters to you most. I was in a relationship then, with my ex of four years. We had a great relationship. It’s just too bad that we were not headed towards the same direction and it fell apart. We are still friends today.
