Do not cross Miranda Bailey – Grey’s Anatomy premiere
President-Elect Obama’s Letter to his daughters
I was reading the paper this morning and I was moved when I read excerpts from President-Elect Obama’s letter to his daughters. With such a young and vibrant family, you can’t help but be inspired with the example he is setting. I would like to publish excerpts from the letter to share with you all. How touching.
The letter will be published on Parade Magazine this coming Sunday.
Dear Malia and Sasha: Why I ran for president
I know that you’ve both had a lot of fun these last two years on the campaign trail, going to picnics and parades and state fairs, eating all sorts of junk food your mother and I probgably shouldn’t have let you have. But I also know that it hasn’t always been easy for you and Mom, and that as excited as you both are about that new puppy, it doesn’t make up for all the time we’ve been apart. I know how much I’ve missed these past two years, and today I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to take our family on this journey….
…I realized that my own life wouldn’t count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunitiy for happiness and fulfullment in yours. In the end, girls, that is why I ran for president: because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation…
…With the great privilege of being a citizen of this nation comes great responisbility.
That was the lesson your grandmother tried to teach me when I was your age, reading me the opening lines of the Declaration of Independence and telling me about the men and women who marched for equality because they believed those words put to paper two centuries ago should mean something…
I hope both of you will take up that work, righting the wrongs that you see and working to give others the changes you’ve had…
…I am so proud of both of you. I love you more that you can ever know. And I am grateful every day for your patience, poise, grace and humor as we prepare to start our new life together in the White House.
Love,
Dad
I am already proud that he is going to be my president. Go Barrack!
Ronnie Liang learns lessons from 2008 issues he got involved in
Director Joyce Bernal says Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang offer came before Lovers in Paris
More exciting Kapuso shows to premiere this year
Sa first quarterly lunch this year with the editors of the head of GMA-7 Entertainment TV, nailabas na ang first quarter shows of the Kapuso network: My Dad is Better Than Your Dad, Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang, Paano Ba Ang Mangarap?, Totoy Bato, and Zorro. Napag-usapan na rin ang next set of shows for the second quarter, pati na rin ang ilan pa sa mga dapat abangan para sa 2009.
KOREANOVELAS.
STARSTRUCK IS BACK.
GAME SHOWS.
Pang-second quarter of the year ito sa May, ngunit wala pa ring napipiling maghu-host.
Ibabalik din ang Celebrity Duets ngayong taon na ito in its third season hosted by Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.
Jericho Rosales downplays reported primetime showdown with ex Heart Evangelista
Year 2009 is shaping up to be a rosy year for actor Jericho Rosales. Fresh from the success of the critically-acclaimed film Baler in the recently concluded 34th Metro Manila Film Festival, Jericho will now be seen in ABS-CBN’s I Love Betty La Fea, where he will portray the character of Aldo.
Nadia Montenegro ready to make peace with Gretchen Barretto
Last Christmas Eve, former actress Nadia Montenegro consulted her doctor because her left eye had lost vision. The doctor found out that the retina had a tear. Unless treated, her right eye could be affected and she would go blind.
Bords!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha! Groovy ha! Before you know it, baka makuha yan sa SNL (Saturday Night Live)!!!! Wait lang tayo mga bords!!
Watch the commercial after the JUMP – Kalowka!!!
What a week this has been! Whew!

Mga ditse!!!!!! Joshko, itong nangyari sa “Ditse Mega” ninyo this past week. First, sinipa ako ng hosting kong Asul. What do I have to do with that?
Actually the blog was running fine until I added a few things. I don’t know if it was the Wowzio application or additional ads. Ang suspetch ko eh yung mga ads. Dahil matagal mag-load kapag puno ng ads…. another suspect eh yung theme. I picked a theme that puts a heavy load on the server. Hindi siya optimized.
Casting Rumor Roundup

Awards season is heating up, but not everybody is gushing about Kate Winslet’s triumph at the Golden Globes or “Slumdog Millionaire’s” ever-increasing Oscar buzz. Some are more interested in who will be starring in four highly anticipated action flicks. Here’s a rundown on the latest casting rumors…
A new star for “New Moon”… or not
Oh, the agony and the ecstasy of teen melodrama! This past fall, the vampire flick “Twilight” made a bundle at the box office. Now a sequel, “New Moon,” is in the works and rumors are flying. Some claimed that Vanessa Hudgens auditioned for the role of a werewolf named Leah Clearwater. Those reports have been denied by studio executives.
Regardless, searches promptly soared on the actress as well as “twilight 2 movie” and “vanessa hudgens twilight.”
Nike’s Controversial Ad? Nope, it’s not Nike’s.

The ad reads,
“The Only Thing Worse Than Going to the Ballet Is Going to the Ballet to Watch Your Son.” The tagline reads: “Raise a Champion.”
Now, if you’re gay or lesbian, you would totally be offended by this ad. It is noteworthy that the ad was implying that “straight and masculine” fathers prefer to not have their sons join the ballet but would rather have them play as linebackers because it is MASCULINE. Wouldn’t this ad irritate the heck out of you?
The best job in the world, you just can’t apply for it.

Mga ditseeeeeeee! I’m sure you’ve heard about this friggin island in Australia already by now. It has been all over the news and quite frankly, the job is fairly easy. You will be in charge of the upkeep of the island… monitor population of whales and turtles (to my understanding). ..
For six months, you could be paid $100,000 USD by relocating to Hamilton Island (Australia’s Great Barrier Reef) and you have to blog about your stay in the island (every week mind you! – oh like that is so friggin hard!) They will even pay for your airfare to and from the island and you will be staying at an ocean front villa na merong swimming pool! Apparently, this program (or publicity for that matter) is to boost Australia’s Tourism.

2010 ELECTION WATCH: Sen. Mar Roxas elusive about love life but assures press his relationship with Korina is “okay”

The press people looked dumbfounded as they were entering Bahay na Puti in Cubao last night, January 12. Either they were marveling at the grandness of the place or asking why Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas II was hosting a lavish dinner for them.
Their thought balloon: “Tatakbo ba siya?”
But nobody, at least to our knowledge, voiced out the question.
Sen. Mar Roxas, popularly called Mr. Palengke, has Philippine politics in his blood. He is the son of the late Sen. Gerry Roxas and grandson of former President Manuel Roxas.
Mr. Palengke just gave a brief welcome message, and then hopped right away from one table to another, mingling with entertainment editors and writers.
PEP seized the opportunity to chat with him about showbiz-related matters.
MMFF IS NOT ENOUGH. The first question was about his assessment on the local entertainment scene. From the point of view of a politician, who earned his degree from Wharton School of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, our television shows and movies have the potential to reach a wider market.
He began, “Para sa akin, pinakamalaking hamon sa entertainment industry is papaano ma-e-expand ang market beyond not just the Philippines.
The senator believes that the country has what it takes to go head to head with Korea, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Taiwan. As we all know, Asianovela has invaded the local television landscape with TV series in the early 2000s. Prior to that, we had soaps from Spanish-speaking countries.
Mar Roxas continued, “Kung tayo nanonood ng Mexican or ng Korean, bakit hindi natin sila mabentahan din….yung mga Thai, yung mga Indonesian, Koreans and Mexicans, [bakit ‘di bentahan] din ng products from the Philippines? That would require capital, but I think, that’s the way to move forward in the industry.”
Local showbiz needs more than holding an annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). He says “expanding the market” will pave the way for more opportunities.
“Nakikita natin, one week, during the festival, dominado muna yung market. But what about the rest of the year? Mahirap mabuhay yung mga nagtatrabaho sa industriya, kung two to five weeks in a year lang nagkakaroon ng food…I think that the way to move forward is to have a continuous source of income, and that it comes from a bigger, broader market.”
RATING VERSUS CENSORSHIP. PEP also asked him about the industry’s perennial issue with the government: Censorship.
Sen. Roxas was quick to say, “I’m more [for] rating than censorship.
All throughout the chat, he spoke calmly and in a relaxed manner, but when we brought up his love life, we sensed a tiny bit of evasiveness.
LOVE LIFE. Initially, we thought of approaching his girlfriend, newscaster and Rated K host Korina Sanchez, for her to describe their relationship. But the lady politely refused, saying, “Naku, bawal, hindi puwede.
When we turned to the senator, he briefly said, “We’re okay. We’re very okay.”
PEP then asked about the couple’s future plans.
“I will let you know,” he replied. Pausing briefly, and then with a sheepish smile he added, “Basta, nasa magandang lugar ang aming kapupuntahan.”
In a separate interview with a group of entertainment editors and reporters, he described ‘a day in the life of Mar and Korina’.
Kasi yung quality time, yung precious quality time, hindi siya very important, e, you just make time…
HIS SON. The 51-year-old public servant also talked about his 15-year-old son, whom he described as “ordinaryong tao, estudyante…nasa nanay niya.”
The senator said, “Itong Christmas, magkasama kami.” Despite his busy schedule, he makes it a point to regularly spend time with him.
Showbiz press got intrigued: “Bakit hindi kayo nagkatuluyan nung nanay?”
He answered casually: “Matagal na yun, e…15 months and 15 years ago na yun, e, di ba?
When asked if he’s the marrying type, he quipped, “I’m the committed guy.”
The senator made no formal announcement about his presidential bid come 2010, but when we left Bahay na Puti at around 9:30 p.m., we just figured, “Simula na ng mahabang biyahe ni Mr. Palengke.”
Eraserheads to stage “Final Set” on March 7

The Eraserheads will reunite for the second time on March 7 to settle unfinished business following the abrupt finish of their highly successful reunion concert last August 30, 2008 in Taguig.
In a phone interview with QTV’s news program News on Q, Diane Ventura, Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia’s partner and manager, confirmed that the phenomenal ‘90s local rock act will regroup anew in a concert dubbed as the Final Set. The venue and other details have yet to be revealed. MTV Philippines is reportedly handling production duties for the reunion sequel.
“To the fans, I know I’m speaking for the whole band when I say that they’re looking forward to seeing you on March 7. Part of history. See you there,” Diane said in a short message.
ONE LAST HURRAY. Composed of Ely, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Ador, and Raimund Marasigan, the Eraserheads broke up in 2002 due to creative differences. The band’s musical legacy grew exponentially since the falling out until the four decided to stage a one-night reunion concert last year.
Ely unfortunately experienced chest pains and reportedly collapsed backstage after completing the band’s first set of 15 songs. The band was supposed to dish out 30 songs chronicling the bulk of the quartet’s entire catalog.
The upcoming concert will serve as the continuation of the previous event where thousands of fans gathered at the Bonifacio Global City Open Field to witness the rock spectacle.
As the title suggests and as the band stated last year, the reunion concert is a gift to the fans for their tireless support long after the Eraserheads ceased to exist as one creative unit. More importantly, the band members hope that the concert would finally render closure to the entire Eraserheads saga.
Rachelle Ann Go finds new love in Gab Valenciano

“We tried working on it for a long time,” sabi ni Rachelle. It wasn’t working talaga. Though they see us na okay in front of the cameras, nagiging professional naman kami sa trabaho.
“Napagkasunduan namin na kesa naman tumagal pa ang mga differences namin, nag-decide kami ni Christian to end it at maging friends na lang kami. Sa totoo lang, mas okay kami as friends. Mas nagkakaintindihan kami ngayon kesa noong may relasyon kami.”
Most of the time, may sarili siyang trabaho at ako rin naman.
Kaya we really talked about it at nag-decide kaming to let go of the relationship and be friends na lang. Like what I said, mas naging maayos kaming dalawa.”
IN LOVE WITH GAB.
“Kasi nga sa porma niya and the way he talks to people. Yung parang mayabang talaga.
“But when I got to know him na, mahiyain din pala siya.
It feels good and I’m very happy sa nangyayari ngayon.”
Pero Tita Angeli made me feel na I was part of their family. Noong magkaroon kami ng time na magkausap na dalawa, she was open naman to me at na-appreciate ko ‘yon.
“In fact noong Christmas Day nga, nandoon kami ng family ko sa house nila Gab. They invited us for dinner at wala namang problema. Nag-bonding kaming lahat.
PRE-VALENTINE CONCERT. Sa January 30 and 31 na ang pre-Valentine concert na Falling In Love ni Rachelle Ann Go sa Music Museum. Kasabay rin nito ang launch ng bagong album ni Rachelle with the same title under Viva Records.
Produced by Viva Concerts and Events, special guests niya sina Gab at Christian, with Ogie Alcasid and Richard Poon.
Veteran actress Anita Linda plays tormentor of Kim Chiu in “Tayong Dalawa”

Now in her 80′s, mahusay pa ring umarte at malinaw pa rin ang pagsasalita ng premyadong aktres.
Kim is a very nice person.
Kim smiled and said, “Hindi po, nahihiya lang…”
But Kim is a very nice person, very sweet. You just cannot help but like her. Sana, Kim, huwag kang magbabago.”
Plastic bag sculptures in NYC by Joshua Allen Harris – Very neat!

I saw this on Anderson Cooper podcast this morning and I thought it was pretty neat. Apparently, this street art is created by an Artist named Joshua Allen Harris. It’s made from trash bags and placed strategically on top of the subway vents all over the streets of New York City. Wouldn’t this just scare you to death if you didn’t know about it? I think it’s awesome! Haha!
Dingdong Dantes inks a deal with the country’s leading bakeshop
Matinee idol Dingdong Dantes adds another one to his long list of endorsements. He was chosen by Goldilocks to be their latest endorser, in line with their current campaign and tagline “You’re the 1, Goldilocks.”
Dingdong was formally launched as the newest Goldilocks endorser last Friday, January 9, at the Santan Room of the Shangri-La Edsa Plaza Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
Love – Love Penelope on SNL!! Haha! Liza Minelli cameo…

Did you guys see SNL last weekend?! It was freaking hilarious! I love Penelope – I was cracking up! And of course, you all know Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, M.D) or if you’re too young to remember – he’s in a new series, How I Met Your Mother. He came out of the closet in 2006 and he was the guest host on SNL this weekend. He cracks me up too!!
Watch the video – and laugh your socks off! Towards the end, Liza shows up – which simply made Penelope much funnier! If you don’t know the Penelope character yet (played by Kristin Wiig), you are just about to find out how hilarious she is…
It’s about time! A star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Guess who?

I believe that this star was long overdue. It finally arrived for this one celebrity who made us all cringe with just the simple thought of cheating on our spouses back in the 80s.
Glenn Close received the 2,378th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. Wearing a black pants suit that would make Hilary Clinton jealous, the Damages star called the award a “wonderful, wonderful honor.”
To be considered a star is one thing, but to be embedded in the sidewalk with life passing over us, that for me is the best part of this honor.
The Fatal Attraction actress also took time to joke about her masculine sounding first name.
And I can just see it years from this moment. Someone will wander by my star, dust off my name and think `Glenn Close? Glenn Close? Oh yeah, I remember. He was good.
She was introduced by her Shield co-star Micheal Chiklis who called her “One of the truly great women of this world.”

The primetime soap opera first aired on Channel 2 last September 15, 2008 and ended by December 12. It was first directed by the late Gilbert Perez but Direk Jerry Sineneng helmed the project when Manong Gilbert passed away last July. The title of the said TV program serves also as a tribute to Manong since his first movie under Star Cinema also had Kahit Isang Saglit as its title.
Jericho and Carmen play star-crossed lovers in this soap opera that transcends culture, class and everything in between. Rocky (Jericho) is in pursuit of justice for his father’s death while Garie (Carmen) is in search of her long-lost father. In their search, they found each other.
They are supported by respected and veteran stars such as Christopher De leon, Albert Martinez, Cristine Reyes, Dick Israel, Malou de Guzman, Isabel Rivas, Wilma Doesnt, Empoy, and Malaysian stars Louisa Chong, Soosan Hoh and Awal Ashaar.
Reminisce about the love story of two people with different cultural roots and social status as they defy all odds in the name of love. According to a source from Star Home Video, Kahit Isang Saglit DVDs (Volumes 1-3) have achieved impressive sales just two weeks after its release.

Chuva’s back!! Yes – we are back online.

It has been a very stressful weekend when Bluehost kicked my blogs out. I had to find a new host real fast and ask for help among blogger friends to get the site back up and running.
Believe me – it wasn’t an easy task. Without the help of the following individuals, this blog would still be directed to the blogspot address.
Many thanks mga kapatid sa pagtulong ninyo sa kin on this time of need. I can never thank you enough for the work and advice received from both of you. I will never forget the assistance you gave me. It reduced the amount of lines this would have added to my youthful face.
Three interesting movies opening this weekend, The Unborn, Bride Wars and The Reader
Watch the trailer of three movies opening this week. I particularly would like to see The Unborn and Bridewars, although I’ve also heard great reviews about The Reader.

Newcomer Marco Morales complains spread of his nude photos on the ‘Net

Of course, ano pa ba? Ang issue ng “Coke Sniffing Scandal” tip received from a reader ng isang socialite na connected sa Politika. Anak yata ng Senador. And when I blogged about it and posted the pictured emailed to me, naubos ang bandwidth sa server ko sa mga taong dumagsa. And the fire exploded from there… to the Brian Gorrell Issue and then the Malacanang letter received by Chuva.
PEP’s 20 Sexiest Celebs of 2008
Year 2008 saw sexy celebrities not only on the big and small screens, but even on fashion ramps and publicity prints. But unlike the show-it-all boldness in the past, last year’s hottest stars chose to display their finely chiselled physique, shapely curves, and flawless complexion in various ways: posing for glossy magazines, endorsing health and beauty products, doing a musical number, or playing a role. That’s sex appeal with pizzazz!
Now, PEP presents the top 20 sexiest male and female celebrities of 2008. Our list is based on a survey we conducted among lifestyle magazine editors, writers, and showbiz insiders. Ranking in both gender categories starts from the bottom up.
SEXIEST LADIES
10. Luningning. One writer describes Luningning as the only reason he continues to watch Wowowee. Luningning’s sexiness on television can be described as “wholesome,” appealing not only to the adult audience but to the young Luningning-wannabes who dream of a dance showdown with her.
YES! magazine’s “Wowowillie” issue sold-out; reprints ordered
Willie Revillame has been very forthright about the story of his life. As the face of the controversial daily noontime show Wowowee, the guy who entered the business as a drummer has given us more than a glimpse of his not-usually-trouble-free world.
But just when we thought we’ve heard it all, YES! magazine published a tell-all feature, which had Willie tackling the issues and controversies that continue to hound his public image.
The January issue uncovers the various facets of his life, including the myths surrounding the man fondly referred to by his loyal followers as “Papi.” The 48-page feature was the result of an exhausting no-holds-barred interview that clocked in, as accurately stated by associate editor Anna Pingol, “seven one-hour back-to-back macro cassette audiotapes.”
