Okay, maybe I will be revealing my real age here but I don’t care… I wanted you guys to know that life is really way too short for us to care about such things. I was still in high school when “Bagets” came out in the movie theaters. In fact, I watched the movie’s premiere at Greenbelt. I saw the whole cast and to make the long story short, it is one of my most memorable life experiences. At ito pa, may nag-approach pa sa akin after the show na badinggerzie at tinanong ako kung gusto ko raw mag-audition for Bagets 2… KIYEM!!!!!!! Hahaha! If I know, gusto lang akong hadahin nung baklitang yun!

Anyway, back to my tribute. The movie was a coming-of-age movie and I really identified with it so much that it remains one of my favorite pinoy movies – I still watch it to this day.

I already left for the US when Bagets 2 came out with Francis Magalona in it.  I do know Francis Magalona from his rapper days (he was the most famous one and THE ONLY ONE who’s good in my opinion).  I don’t particularly like rap, pero Kiko made it sound tolerable.  His dance moves were superb as well.

Since I started blogging about celebrities, I came across his blog on Multiply. I visit his blog from time-to-time and that is actually where I came to find out of his illness.  I really was hoping that he would surpass this trial and from reading his blog, he seems to be doing well.  Imagine my shock when I found out that he had passed.

Anyway, KIKO – wherever you are, I know how TRUE of a FILIPINO you are.  From your FrancisM Clothing Co. designs of 3 stars and the sun, to your entries about Filipinos and having Jose Rizal as your idol, you are now together with the GREATS.  We all have our dreams for our country, and you did your part in showing our youths that IT IS NOT TOO LATE FOR OUR COUNTRY TO CHANGE.  You have instilled something in them that I hope they will carry through the next Presidential Election in 2010.

Be at rest KIKO.  Smile.  We will not forget you. For us, you haven’t left… you are just…. GROWING UP…..
