Email going around now with pictures of Francis Magalona in his coffin.
I was forwarded an email from someone who is sending out several pictures of Francis Magalona taken during the viewing of his remains. Photos that are not disrespectful and honestly, the shots were nicely taken. The email chain is entitled, “Paalam Kiko” and an excerpt from FrancisM’s entry from his blog accompanies several pictures taken.
I know that for us Filipinos, this quite normal and will not be viewed as morbid or weird. However, I am not going to post the pictures here – but I will post the message from his blog because it is very real and very touching. In fact, I read that post when he posted the entry on his Multiply Blog as I read his blog regularly. He is one of the celebrities’ blog I linked with this blog under BLOGPALS. I will not post or forward the pictures simply as a gesture of respect for Kiko.

“Today, September 25th, 2008 is the day I learned that Cancer isn’t all about death.
It’s about LIFE. And today I celebrate and embrace that life.
“Today was a day of reckoning. I went to my doctor at her clinic, and from the smile on her face as she entered the room, I knew The Lord, Jesus Christ gave me a reprieve.
I knew that someone, somewhere made a prayer, and continues to pray for me, my family and my recovery.
“And Jesus heard it.
“I am a sinner, and I will continue to sin, for I am just a man. But the Saviour has forgiven me and will continue to forgive me.
This God who became man spilled His blood for me during my 36 days in the hospital. And even before that He suffered, and today He spilled some more of His blood, for me to get the good news.

Francis M. its been a while na nakasama mo ang iyong mga fans d2 kahit na masakit sa aking kalooban noong nagulat ako noong March 6, 2009 na sumakabilang buhay kana muntik na akong maiyak sayo dahil napanood ko ang news lahat ay nalungkot dahil nawala kana d2 sa mundong ito.Francis kahit na hindi na tayo nagkita masisilayan din kta sa unang pagkakataon balang araw.Francis ur my Idol kahit hindi kta kadugo dahil mahal na mahal ka ng mga taumbayan mula luzon hanggang mindanao may God R.I.P in you.Amen
