BEFORE YOU GO OUT AND REGISTER, you need to:
1. Know where you will vote in May 2010. You need to register in the city/municipality where you will vote.
2. Have a VALID ID (which shows your name, photo, residence address, and signature).
3. BRING A COPY OF THE REGISTRATION FORM AND FILL IT OUT.
SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER:
* Registration is open from Mondays to Saturdays, 8am-5pm (even during holidays) at the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) at your local City Hall.
* There are also satellite registration booths in some barangays and schools.
* Bring your VALID ID and REGISTRATION FORMS.You will also have your BIOMETRICS taken at the registration site.
* REGISTRATION IS FREE. You do not need to pay anything to register.

Rock musicians go out and register

MANILA, Philippines—Less than a year before the May 2010 polls, rock musicians have taken the first step to encourage the youth to participate in the national elections.
Musicians including Chito Miranda of Parokya ni Edgar, Kamikazee vocalist Jay Contreras, and singer Luke Mejares registered for the 2010 elections on Wednesday during the Rock the Vote concert organized by the advocacy group Register and Vote.
Filipino rock artists staged a benefit concert in the village of Tatalon in Quezon City as a way of encouraging Filipinos, especially the youth, to go out and vote.
“Napag-usapan namin ni Chito na magpaparehistro talaga kami para sa darating na eleksiyon,” Contreras said. “Iba talaga pag me anak ka na e. Naisip ko talaga na kumilos para sa kinabukasan ng anak ko.”
The Register and Vote (RV) bus has brought residents to Comelec registration centers to make voting enlisting easier. The RV bus is expected to go to Naga, Cebu, Pampanga, Zamboanga, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Pangasinan, and possibly abroad for overseas absentee voters.
