I guess this is some very good news to homebuyers everywhere. The tax credit for home purchase could rise from 8 K to 15K.
The tax credit which is scheduled to expire by fall and lawmakers have asked for an expansion in order to get home sales booming again.
“With the tax credit scheduled to expire in fall, some business groups say the amount of the credit, now capped at $8,000, should be raised to $15,000 and applied to anyone who buys a home.”
This is great news to friends of mine who are looking to buy their new homes.
There will be a caveat proposed however. The expansion would not be extended to singles making over $95K a year, and couples who make over $170K a year.
Let’s hope this plan works.
The question is… who’s going to pay for it in the end?
