MANILA, Philippines—“They want the word ‘deaf’ written with a capital D. They find the terms ‘hearing impaired’ and ‘bingi’ offensive. They don’t like being stared at. And they appreciate music.”
All these, award-winning filmmaker Mike Sandejas told Inquirer Entertainment, he learned while writing and filming his new full-length feature, “Dinig Sana Kita (If I Knew What You Said),” about the struggles of a deaf boy.

Google creates doodle for RP Freedom Day

To commemorate the country’s 111th anniversary of its declaration of independence, Google announced that it has created the first-ever Google doodle for the Philippines. The unique doodle can be viewed on Google’s Philippine website, www.google.com.ph.
A Google doodle is a “decoration” Google makes to its logo every so often. Doodles are designed to celebrate worldwide events, anniversaries, and the lives of notable artists and scientists. Among the doodles that have been displayed on Google’s website are international holidays New Year, Valentine’s Day, and the December holiday season, and logos commemorating Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, and Edvard Munch.
“This is the first-ever Google doodle for the Philippines so we wanted to make it very classic and meaningful for Filipinos. We created a special doodle on the Google Philippines homepage for June 12, 2009 to commemorate the Philippines’ Independence Day,” said Jay Trinidad, Regional Product Marketing Manager, Consumer Products, Google Asia Pacific.
Is Bryanboy from Bryanboy.com going to be a judge at Project Runway Philippines?
I visited one of the blogs that inspired me to start blogging, Byranboy dot com. He had an entry today that tickled me pink. He posted an entry about something that he did the afternoon of June 11th. The pictures show a bunch of cameras facing him and other pics show a shot of what seems to be a set for a fashion show.

It’s about a frog and its survival instincts. If you throw a frog in a pot of boiling water, it immediately jumps out. But if you put the frog in the pot on a burner with cool tap water, it stays there. Then you slowly turn up the heat. The temperature rises. The frog, which can jump out of the pot at any time, gets so used to the water that it doesn’t feel the gradual changes in temperature. Soon, the water is boiling and the frog dies in the pot, its natural instincts for self-preservation lulled into a fatal complacency. That is what is happening today.
‘Pregnant man’ Thomas Beatie gives birth for second time

Thomas Beatie, believed to be the world’s first ‘pregnant man’, has given birth to his second child in America.
The transgender man gave birth to a healthy baby boy, as yet unnamed, who joins Mr Beatie’s one-year-old daughter, Susan Juliette.
Announcing his second pregnancy in an interview with Barbara Walters in the US last November, Mr Beatie said: “I feel good. I had my checkups with my hormone level, as far as the HCG. And everything is right on track.”

Understandably, the publication of the David Carradine death photo by Thai Rath, a Thai tabloid newspaper, has infuriated the Carradine family, and, as a result, lawyer Mark Garagos has threatened to sue any media outlet that publishes the grisly David Carradine death photo.
The David Carradine death photo controversy started when beloved actor David Carradine was found dead Wednesday in a luxurious Bangkok hotel. A hotel maid found David Carradine’s nude body hanging from a clothes bar in the closet of his hotel room.
Initially, Thai police believed that David Carradine had committed suicide. Later, however, they began to suspect that his death may have been the result of an accident.

It was while camping in Costa Rica last week that I realized I needed to share this with you. When it came to the limited supply of tissue brought to the jungle, one has to be selective on how and when to use. My friend was amazed at how little paper was actually required for the job. And it has nothing to do with my raw diet, because quite honestly, I’ve been swimming in deeper waters lately, introducing my stomach to rich and indulgently devilish foods. (How dare I!)
Saturday Movie Night: When a Stranger Calls – Trailer
I had a long week. Jetlagged from my vacation, I decided to clean the house today and then do some grocery shopping. While watching T2 (Starring Maricel Soriano) last night, I figured tonight will be another movie night for me.
I want to relax, but it would not be a night of dramatic movies. I want to be entertained. I want to watch another horror film. So, I decided on a 2006 remake of the 1979 film, “When a Stranger Calls”. This could be a good film to watch tonight. Watch the trailer – don’t you think this is enough to keep me covered under the covers?! Haha!
How Do I Remove Malware Doctor from my PC?
Folks, this is the first time I’ve encountered this malicious malware called “Malware Doctor”. I was bloghopping last night and upon visiting one of the sites (I can’t remember which one), the malware was installed instantly – creeping in through McAffee Virus Protection.
All of a sudden, this fake Malware Removal tool ran and showed me a fake result on how much my computer has been infected by Spyware (see screenshot above) and all. DON’T BELIEVE IT! IT’S FAKE! ( It kept popping up and shows me that it is scanning my computer. It even changed my desktop background with a warning that my computer is infected and it was forcing me to register and purchase this “fake” software.
It has disabled my Taskmanager, so I couldn’t remove the program. It also disabled any software I downloaded to remove it. It wouldn’t let me switch users from my computer in order for me to run the Software to remove the Malware Doc from my PC.
How did I get rid of it?

MTV Revelations, part of the Awesome Philippines campaign to promote Philippines as a destination for young adults and music lovers, has set up an island on Second Life, a 3D virtual world, to engage and encourage young travelers to visit the Philippines. This was revealed by MTV Networks today June 5.
Developed and launched by Linden Lab in 2003, Second Life is a leading 3D virtual world environment. It enables its users – known as Residents – to create content, interact with others, launch businesses, collaborate, and educate.

The Negastar (Chuva Chienes) and The Megastar (Sharon Cuneta) – Unplugged
Okay okay, so there I was talking to Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. He gave me a small token and thanked me for creating the videos of him and Ms. Sharon Cuneta. He said that he appreciates the support as well. Our conversation was very brief as he was rushing to go to another meeting. I was totally tongue-tied and didn’t know where to begin, what to ask, what to say. I had Georg Nava watching us from the background and I couldn’t say a word except, “Thank you Senator for taking the time to meet with me… thank you.” I told him as well that the video became an idea for me because of my admiration for Sharon and her works. It so happened that I found out more about him than Sharon after posting the video as I had to do my research to fend off negative comments from the post.
In an instant, he instructed Georg to contact Sharon Cuneta’s PA (Penny) to see if there is any opening to her schedule and see if Sharon could meet with me. As he was instructing Georg, I was listening with ALL THE HOPE that there would be some time that Sharon could meet with me. A text message was sent. Patiently, we waited for the response. As we sat there at the MESA Restaurant, having our “sago and gulaman” drink, a text message response came in. Yes, Mam Sharon was having a presscon at the Shang-ri-la promoting her new album “Children’s Rhymes and Lullabyes”.
Final Fantasy XIV Online RPG Slated for 2010 Release
The 14th chapter of the popular Final Fantasy role-playing series is due out next year for the PlayStation 3. Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which is also slated for a 2010 release, XIV will be a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG).
Video game company Square Enix has not released details about Final Fantasy XIV, but a trailer of the game was shown Tuesday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Subsequently, Square Enix launched a teaser site for the game, where fans can watch the video.
Final Fantasy XIV appears to take place in medieval times including Chocobos and airships, similar to the setting in Final Fantasy XII.
Face to Face: Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and Chuva Chienes
This was a meeting by chance. How can a lowly blogger such as Chuva Chienes get a chance to meet one of the most prominent Philippine Senators today? Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan was unknown to me before I cooked up a video entitled, “Sharon Cuneta for First Lady 2010”. I knew of him by association to our Megastar, Sharon Cuneta but I didn’t know anything about him.
An idea came up as a friend and I (let’s call her Gihanna) were on a train ride from work. She knew that I am a Megastar fan and while speaking about her we thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if Sharon Cuneta becomes the First Lady of the Philippines?” Of course, the idea was born because we were imagining how Filipino Fashion Designers would clamour to dress her up during her state visits and international functions. A representation of our country in the most fashionable sense possible. Kind of a fantasy really. I thought the idea was brilliant!

Left 4 Dead 2 Due Out November 17
Left 4 Dead is a cooperative first-person shooter video game. It was developed by Turtle Rock Studios, which was purchased by Valve Corporation during development. The game uses Valve’s proprietary Source engine, and is available for Windows and the Xbox 360. Development on the game was completed on November 13, 2008 and was released on November 18, 2008 in the United States and on November 21, 2008 in Europe.
Set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, the game pits its four protagonists—dubbed “the Survivors”—against hordes of the infected, zombie-like aggressive mutants. There are four game modes: a single-player mode in which allied characters are controlled by AI; a four-player, co-op campaign mode; an eight-player online versus mode; and a four-player survival mode. In all modes, an artificial intelligence AI, dubbed the “Director”, controls level pacing and item spawns, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.

Highly-anticipated is an understatement. The next movie of the Twilight Series’ Official Trailer has been released. To say that the movie will be a hit may be presumptuous at best, but I will bet my bottom dollar on it. Opening on November 20th 2009 in movie theaters worldwide.
