KC Concepcion finds Piolo Pascual a very supportive leading man

KC Concepcion is gearing up for her first teleserye Lovers in Paris which is set to premiere on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida soon. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, KC admitted that she is a bit nervous because maintaining high ratings for a teleserye is more difficult than coming up with box office success for a movie. But she also said that she is very thankful to be getting the support she needs from the entire production team of the upcoming teleserye, especially her leading man Piolo Pascual. “No one can deny that Piolo Pascual is a big star. Na-master na talaga niya ang pagiging actor lalo na sa teleserye. Alam na alam na niya lahat, mula sa pag-aaral ng script, paggalaw sa camera, working with your director and the crew. Sa pago-observe ko pa lang sa kanya ang dami ko nang natututunan.”
Lovers in Paris has been in production since March of this year. Production was put on hold for a while though when KC went with her mother Sharon Cuneta to the US for a month-long concert tour. Now, KC has returned to set where she said she is having a much easier time because of the help she is getting from Piolo when it comes to acting. “He’s very generous naman sa pag-alalay sa akin. Madalas kakausapin niya ako na, ‘Alam mo, may sikreto ako. Ang ginagawa ko kasi…ganito…ganyan.’ ‘Yun lang malaking tulong na mula sa kanya.”
KC’s acting credits include the stage plays The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Katy, the Musical; movies For The First Time and When I Met U; an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya; the mini-anthology I Am KC; and a guest role in May Bukas Pa. The 24-year-old beauty said that through her previous experiences, she has learned the value of trusting her director so she’s thankful that she’s learning a lot from Lovers in Paris director Erick Reyes. “Si Direk Erick naman nakatrabaho na niya halos lahat ng magagaling sa ABS-CBN. Kung ano man ‘yung na-impart niya sa kanila that made them better actresses now I’m thankful na naishi-share rin niya sa akin. Feeling ko may mga napupulot akong magagandang learnings from him. Mahaba-haba pa ang tatakbuhin ng taping namin so I’m looking forward na marami pa akong matututunan.”
KC also gets encouragement from her mother, Sharon. Being a film actress and recording star for 30 years now, Sharon knows the secret to staying positive despite the long hours of work. KC said that her mother advised her to always make it a point that she is enjoying her time on the set. “Just have fun. ‘Yun ang madalas niyang sabihin. ‘Wag ko daw kalimutan na dapat nag e-enjoy ako sa set. Ang problema kasi kapag pagod na ang mga tao after long hours of taping karamihan nagsusungit na. Dapat lahat tumatawa pa rin kasi dun ka huhugot ng energy mo to go on with the work. Kung titingnan mo maliit lang na bagay ‘yung pagtawa pero kapag inisip mo malaki ang naitutulong niya.”
