Xian Lim not disheartened with the postponed showing of Katorse

Nakapanayam namin via e-mail ang isa sa bagong ABS-CBN contract stars na si Xian Lim. Kagagaling lamang ng model-turned-actor sa Amerika para sa ginanap na Star Magic World Tour. Contrary to what others may think, hindi acting ang motibasyon ni Xian nang umuwi siya sa Pilipinas June 0f 2008 mula sa matagal na pamamalagi sa States. “I came here to play basketball Show business was not part of my plan. My mom asked me if I wanted to try out modeling on the side while waiting for the two-year required residency for me to be able to play basketball. While modeling, I was asked if I wanted to try out acting. I accepted the offer and everything started from there.”
Kabilang na ngayon ang matangkad at hunky newbie sa stable of stars ng Star Magic, ang talent management arm ng Dos. Xian finds acting a lot more exciting than modeling. “There is always something different and there is always something to look forward to.” Siya ang napiling gumanap sa Alfie Anido role sa TV version ng old, old Dina Bonnevie movie na Katorse. Unfortunately, hindi natuloy ang pagpapalabas ng naturang soap last June. Thankfully, Xian has not lost heart. “Siguro inihahanap pa ng tamang timing. Hindi naman ako na-lungkot ng sobra. Sa showbiz, I’m learning that it’s like a form of waiting. Hindi nakukuha ang lahat sa pagmamadali.”
In Katorse, Xian stars with Erich Gonzales na gumaganap sa Dina Bonnevie role at Ejay Falcon in the Gabby Concepcion part. Sa tanong if he would have wanted to exchange roles with Ejay Falcon, Xian responds: “No, i’m happy with my role. My role plays an important part in the story. I’m OK with it.”
