Google’s New App called Google Moon – Apt for Man on the Moon’s 40th Anniversary
Google released a new application called “Google Moon”. It’s similar to Google Earth where one can view the moon in a different light. You can visit locations where each of the Appollo Programs (six in total from 1963 – 1972) landed. It is very educational and very cool as well.
You can also view pictures of each landing with different views of each shot as taken by the astronauts. Read historical facts about the trips and more. Super uber cool! When you get a chance, check out Google Sky as well.
Carrie Prejean to disclose behind-the-scene secrets of the MISS USA PAGEANT
She’s not done yet. Hollywood dot com reports that Carrie Prejean, the de-throned Miss California USA will release a tell-all book to be out and available in bookstores this coming November. Will it be as scandalous as she hopes it to be to sell her book? Will she inject her Republican stance to these secrets or will she apply her “Christian” views on the pandora’s box she is about to open? I guess we all shall see.
ABS-CBN gets 43 percent viewership over the weekend

Hindi maawat sa pangunguna ang ABS-CBN kahit sa weekend. Ayon sa national TV ratings ng TNS Media Research para sa Saturday, July 4, at Sunday, July 5, ay mga Kapamilya programs pa rin ang pinanood ng mas nakakaraming Pilipino. Ang Maalaala Mo Kaya episode starring Billy Crawford at Nikki Gil ang nakakuha ng highest rating na 31.8%. Sumunod dito ang Rated K with 30.5% at ang Singing Bee Saturday with 28.6%. Dahil sa mga top-rating programs ay nakuha ng ABS-CBN ang 43% sa nationwide audience share para sa Saturday at Sunday.

I love attention! Yes mga ditse, my friends will tell you that. I’m usually loud at parties, and when we go out I usually am the one telling jokes and making people laugh. Geminis are like that. They can’t stand silence.
Like my regular readers probably know by now, I have taken up a new hobby. PHOTOGRAPHY. I was drawn into it because I saw pictures posted by a new acquaintance on Flickr. He’s not only a great photographer, he is a great artist as well. He had taken on a project called “365″ where he takes pictures (mainly of himself) in different lightings, situations and color – for 365 days. That simply means everyday since February of 2008. Okay, he’s a little behind but he has posted over 200 pictures already and they look awesome and he has lit a fire under me.
Cancer cancels Beastie Boys’ tour, postpones album

You probably didn’t grow up with the “Beastie Boys”. I did. I looked at the front page for Entertainment on CNN.com and I find a picture of Adam Yauch, one of the members of the group – and it stated that the group has canceled the tour because Adam “MCA” Yauch has cancer.
Although he had some good news to tell (saying that his body was scanned and the cancer hasn’t spread anywhere else in his body), he still apologized to the fans who had planned on seeing them on tour.

I don’t know if I will ever get over my crush for Jake Gyllenhaal. He’s totally hot, and now he’s really buffed for his movie, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time . As you all know, Jake Gyllenhaal is our Chuvahotness #5. The latest poster was just released and it looks awesome. I hope the movie will be just as awesome as he is!

Dingdong Dantes was inspired to do an album because of Marian Rivera
Busy ngayon si Dingdong Dantes sa pagpo-promote ng kanyang kauna-unahang album, ang The Dingdong Dantes Experience kunsaan, apat na music videos ang mapapanood na ginawa ni Dingdong dito. Bukod dito, may kasama pa itong mini-scrapbook of pictures niya na maaaring makuha sa special edition copy ng album.
Noong Linggo, July 19, officially ni-release ang naturang album under Universal Records at bukod sa SOP, personal din ngang nag-promote si Dingdong sa Showbiz Central.

Muling naging emosyonal si Kris Aquino kahapon, July 19, sa The Buzz nang aminin niyang nahihirapan na siyang magpakatatag sa harap ng totoong kalagayan ng kanyang ina. Si dating Pangulong Cory Aquino ay naka-confine pa rin sa hospital. Sinabi rin ni Kris na nakakaramdam na ng pain ang kanyang ina at hindi na niya kayang makita ito.
Sa harap ng camera, kasama ang co-hosts niyang sina Boy Abunda at Ruffa Gutierrez, mangiyak-ngiyak at nanginginig ang boses na inilahad ni Kris ang kanyang saloobin.
“Siguro, ito na yung pinakamahirap na time for all of us and for her. She’s in pain already. So, please pray for her na sana ma-lessen. Kasi, ang hirap-hirap po talagang makita na nahihirapan siya. And it’s been so hard.
Diether Ocampo wishes to remake Dolphy’s 1978 movie Ang Tatay Kong Nanay

If there is one wish that Diether Ocampo would want for his 33rd birthday, this is to do a remake of the 1978 movie of the King of Comedy Dolphy, Ang Tatay Kong Nanay.
Diether expressed his intention to reprise Dolphy’s character in the movie during the outreach program of KIDS (Kabataan Inyong Dapat Suportahan) Foundation held last Saturday, July 18, at San Vicente Pilot School for Philippine Craftsmen in Bulaon, San Fernando, Pampanga.
The actor said that it is really his dream to play the role of Coring in the Lino Brocka film, which was considered one of the first movies that gave an honest portrayal of a gay man’s life. Ang Tatay Kong Nanay also featured former child actor Niño Muhlach, Phillip Salvador, and Marissa Delgado.
The movie is about a gay man (Dolphy) whose lover (Phillip) left him for a bar hostess (Marissa). Later on, his lover came back asking him to take care of his son (Niño). Dolphy’s character kept his true identity a secret to be a good role model to the kid and spare him from embarrassment.
“Alam mo, kung bibigyan nga ako ng pagkakataon, kung kailangan kong i-produce, gusto kong i-remake ang pelikula ni Tito Dolphy, Ang Tatay Kong Nanay (1978). Gusto kong gawin talaga ‘yan. Ang gusto kong ka-partner diyan, ‘yong sa May Bukas Pa, si Santino [Zaijian Jaranilla],” said Diether.
The Only You actor is confident that he can give justice to Dolphy’s character. He said, “Noong una ko pa lang napanood ‘yan, tumatak na sa akin, nagmarka na sa puso’t isipan ko.”
Diether added that if the role is given to somebody else, “Hindi niya siguro mapo-portray ng kasing ganda ng kung paano ko mapo-portray [ang karakter ni Dolphy]. Kasi, ganun kalapit sa puso ko ang pelikula na ‘yon. Kasi kapag naiintindihan ko, nakaka-relate ka, mata-touch ka talaga.”
Did he already talk to Dolphy about this?
Diether said he has not yet had the chance to talk to the King of Comedy. However, when given the chance, he would say: “Tito Dolphy, ito lang ang masasabi ko sa inyo, in this lifetime, wala na akong ibang pangarap kung hindi magampanan ang role na binigyan ninyo ng sobrang buhay.”
HELP REBUILD THE MOVIE INDUSTRY. Diether also wants to do another independent film. His first indie film was Pi7tong Tagpo in 2007 with Cherry Pie Picache, Bembol Roco, and Karylle.
“Alam mo ang gusto kong gawin talaga? Gusto kong gawin na makapagtrabaho para sa isang independent film. ‘Yan ang mga masisipag ngayon gumawa ng pelikula. Kung mapapansin mo, ‘yong mga regular o malalaking production, bilang na bilang, kasi bibihira,” the actor said.
He added that people in local showbiz should work together in rebuilding the movie industry.
“Madaming magagandang pelikulang Pilipino na hindi binibigyang halaga. Kung gusto nating buhayin ang industriya—ke writer ka, artista ka, PA [production assistant], kung ano ka man—kailangan magtulung-tulong tayo. Wala na, e. Ilang pelikula na lang ang ginagawa natin in a year?”
Diether is optimistic that the movie industry has the chance to regain its former prosperity, when there were more local movies shown in theaters than foreign films.
“Hindi malayong mangyari at sinasabi ko na ngayon, kapag naniniwala ka sa sinasabi mo, mangyayari ‘yan. Sana sama-sama at tulung-tulong tayo na maitaguyod at mapalago ulit ang industriya natin. Itong industriya natin ang bumubuhay sa maraming mga pamilya. Ibang sektor tayo, parte tayo ng lipunan na may contribution, e.”

Likas na yata kay Diether Ocampo ang pagtulong sa mga less fortunate, lalo na sa mga bata. In fact, a day before his actual birthday last Saturday, July 18, nasa San Fernando, Pampanga, si Diether para sa kanyang KIDS Foundation kung saan nagpasaya siya at nagpakain ng halos 1,500 na mga bata.
Buong Pilipinas at pinakasuluk-sulukan ng Pilipinas ang goal ni Diether, through his KIDS Foundation, na puntahan upang magbigay ng tulong. At isa nga raw ang Pampanga sa napag-alaman niyang may koneksiyon sa buhay niya.
Vilma: A Woman For All Seasons will air on ABS-CBN this August

Before moviegoers get to see Vilma Santos on the big screen this September, Vilmanians will have the chance to see her on ABS-CBN’s five-week special dedicated to the Star for All Seasons.
Dubbed Vilma: A Woman for All Seasons, this is a separate TV show that will air right after Maalaala Mo Kaya every Saturday night. According to a source from ABS-CBN, this TV show highlights Vilma ‘s achievements as an actress, a mother, and as a public servant.
It will also feature behind-the-scene videos of Vilma being directed by Olivia Lamasan in the upcoming Star Cinema movie In My Life. This movie, shot partly in New York, marks Vilma’s return to the big screen after starring in Mano Po 3: My Love (2004).
In My Life also stars Vilma’s son, Luis Manzano, and John Lloyd Cruz. The highly anticipated movie includes intimate scenes of Luis and John Lloyd who play gay lovers.
Catch Vilma: A Woman For All Seasons on all Saturdays of August, airing right after Maalaala Mo Kaya on ABS-CBN.

The Naked Truth: Cached Pages of Erin Andrews Peephole Video on Top Search
ESPN Sports blogger and reporter Erin Andrews was the victim of a peeping tom when someone took a video of her in her hotel room through the peephole while she was unclothed or naked. Worst, someone uploaded it on a website until the lawyers of ESPN contacted the website owner to have it taken down. The website owner did comply and took the down however, people are still looking for the cached pages. The title of the most searched on Google Trends? “Erin Andrews Peephole Video”
Erin Andrews is undoubtedly an object of attention for many because she is beautiful. It shows that many people would want to see the video even though it is something as bad quality as a peephole video just to get a glimpse of the beautiful reporter.
The video appeared on Youtube for sometime but was blocked immediately. The cached pages remained and maybe by the time of this printing, even the cached pages may have already been removed.
Like anyone else, she has the right to privacy. Erin’s Lawyers though successful in blocking any website that would publish the video tried to prevent it from going viral as well. They have promised action against anyone who would publish it online and have vowed to take legal action against anyone involved in making the video.
Rufa Mae Quinto talks about Erik Santos’s new girl

Rufa Mae Quinto was surprised to hear about ex-boyfriend Erik Santos who is dating a girl from Alaska. “Meron nga? Aba, aba…Ang masasabi ko lang, lumu-long distance relationship na din siya ha! Kita mo nga naman ang buhay parang gulong,” she replied when asked about what she felt about her ex’s love life.
But when she later realized that this was the same girl whom they fought about when they were still going steady back in 2006, she said, “Balikan ninyo yung file sa The Buzz. Nag-away-away kami nun dahil sa girl. Yun yung isa sa mga reasons kung bakit kami nag-break before. Naalala mo yun nung nag-Alaska siya? Para mabigyan uli ng chance ng isa pang pelikula na kasama si Bea na nakasama ko sa pelikulang yun, wala na akong mahihiling pa.
“Ang gusto ko every time na gagawa kami ng pelikula, mas maganda, mas malalim, kasi yun ang gusto namin. Yung growth na hinahanap namin through our movie, gusto naming mai-share sa isa’t isa yung growth na nae-experience namin by working with other artists. Siyempre, I’m looking forward [to] it, although medyo matagal pa. But it’s something that would happen definitely.
“Ang importante kasi sa akin ay kung gaano karami o kalawak ang naaabot ng pelikula namin in terms of touching their heart or touching their lives, mas importante sa akin yun. Yun nga lang, hindi ko masisiguro kung itong mga susunod na mga pelikula ko ay mahihigitan ang mga naging pelikula ko in terms of box office. Yun ang mga bagay na walang kasiguraduhan,” pagtatapos ni John Lloyd.
Dingdong Dantes on Marian Rivera: “Siya ay mas importante pa sa salitang importante.”
Dingdong Dantes is paired for the first time with comedienne Eugene Domingo in her launching film, Kimmy Dora: Kambal Sa Kiyeme. May ilang nagbibigay na ng komento na medyo in bad taste daw na parang yung kissing scene nina Dingdong at Eugene ang nagiging pambenta ng pelikula gayong mas marami naman daw ang dapat na abangan dito.

Moviegoers brave torrential rain to see Piolo Pascual’s Manila at Cinemalaya
Piolo Pascual’s Manila was the opening film for the Cinemalaya Cinco held at the CCP Main Lobby Theater last night. The Cinemalaya film festival will run from July 17 to July 26.
At kung pagbabasehan ang attendance ng mga taong nanood ng Manila last night sa kabila ng napakalakas na ulan, masasabing isa sa mga successful openings ng Cinemalaya ang naganap kagabi.
“Hindi ko po alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko,” simula ngang pahayag ni Piolo na nakangiti. “Siguro more than anything, I feel relieved na finally, naipalabas dito because this film is close to my heart and upon watching it again for the second time, after Cannes, iba ang feeling na alam mong nandito ka sa bayan mo, sa Pilipinas, at ang mga kababayan mong nanonood, ibang-iba.”
AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings (July 14-16): No clear winner in the primetime race
There was no clear winner in the primetime race, based on the latest overnight ratings of AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households.
Three shows—two from GMA-7 and one from ABS-CBN—topped the primetime race the last three nights: Tayong Dalawa (July 14), Zorro (July 15), and 24 Oras (July 16).
The rating of each show was so close to one another that the race for primetime supremacy in the ranking of the Top 10 shows constantly changed everyday.
TNS National TV Ratings (July 14-16): Primetime Bida block is unstoppable
ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block remains very strong and continues to slay the competition.
In the latest overnight ratings of Taylor Nelson Sofres among national households from July 14 to 16, the Kapamilya network still dominates the primetime and daytime races.
In the primetime race, six ABS-CBN shows consistently made it in the Top 10, with five of them occupying the upper half: May Bukas Pa, TV Patrol World, Only You, Tayong Dalawa, and Boys Over Flowers. The Wedding, on the other hand, usually takes the ninth or tenth spot.
The Kapamilya network, meanwhile, takes six to eight slots in the primetime race, with Wowowee, Kambal Sa Uma, and Precious Hearts Romances Presents Bud Brothers leading the pack.
Walter Cronkite, dies at the age of 92

Sometimes called the “most trusted man in America”, Walter Cronkite – an honorable newsman and an icon – has died at the age of 92.
He passed away surrounded by family at his Manhattan home after suffering from cerebrovascular disease.
Walter Cronkite worked and was the face of “CBS Evening News” from 1962 to 1981. Many important and indellible news was reported by this honorable man including the assassination of Pres. John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, the scandal of Watergate that brought Pres. Nixon to resign and the Iranian hostage crises. One such memorable event linked to Walter Cronkite’s reporting was the moon landing which would be celebrating its 40th year three days after his death.
President Barack Obama issued a statement saying that Cronkite set the standard by which all other news anchors have been judged, echoing sentiments from former Presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter.
“He invited us to believe in him, and he never let us down,” Obama said. “This country has lost an icon and a dear friend, and he will be truly missed.”

She has grown before our eyes as we watched and anticipated every release of the Harry Potter movie series. She was this young girl with a beautiful smile and have always been a favorite among the characters of the film.
Well, look at her now. Emma Watson is a young lady who’s looking great and fabulous at her tender age. And just look at that Chanel bag. With a franchise as huge as the Harry Potter franchise, I bet buying that Chanel bag was a drop in the bucket.

California was the first state to legalize Marijuana for medicinal use. It’s now a thriving industry and is bound to make several innovative individuals wealthy. On top of that, the state gets its cut as well as these “pot growers” pay part of their share in taxes to the state. A measure is already on its way to “tax the city’s four marijuana dispensaries” with a projected total sales of up to $17.5 million by 2010. That will bring in marijuana tax of about $315,000.
With California being bankrupt, and facing an $83 million budget shortfall, this comes in with a little bit of good news for the state.
According to AP:
Marijuana has transformed California. Since the state became the first to legalize the drug for medicinal use, the weed the federal government puts in the same category as heroin and cocaine has become a major economic force.
There are three main places where marijuana is grown in California legally, which is called the Emerald Triangle. It consists of the hidden valleys in Mendocino, Humboldt and Trinity counties.

US Weekly has released a rare footage of Michael Jackson while filming a Pepsi Commercial back in 1984. This accident as many would say, may have started his prescription drug addiction. He suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his scalp and face.
The video is horrifying when you see Michael Jackson’s hair as it caught fire after the pyrotechnics which they say set off prematurely. He continues to dance for at least 8 seconds while his hair was on fire until people noticed it and tried to put it out. Just imagine his powerful dance spin fanning the flames on his hair. This video is not for the weak of heart.

John Lloyd Cruz reveals he has regrets about his recent birthday
John Lloyd Cruz, who turned 26 on June 24, spent his birthday in the United States while he was with his fellow artists for he Star Magic World Tour. “’Yung time ko na na-spend sa US, kasama ang shows namin at kasama ang personal time ko, talagang nag-enjoy ako,” he said.
Days before his birthday, Lloydy was feeling blue and had no plans of throwing a party. He flew to the US earlier than the rest of the artists so he could spend time alone and see close friends. During that time, he came to a realization about how he should enjoy his life. “I realized after my birthday na importante na isine-celebrate ang birthday mo because you’ll never know baka next year hindi mo na siya ma-celebrate or you won’t have enough reasons to celebrate. Sana hindi ko siya pinalampas ng ganun lang,” he revealed.
