AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings (July 10-13): TV5′s Talentadong Pinoy leaps to No. 1

The biggest news in the ratings game this weekend is that TV5 has conquered Saturday viewing; with three of its programs making it in the winners’ circle.
After placing third for the past few weeks, TV5′s talent show Talentadong Pinoy made a major leap last Saturday, July 11, to lead all primetime programs. The show, hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, posted a rating of 26.2 percent. This is based on the latest overnight survey conducted by AGB Nielsen Phils. among Mega Manila households.
Coming in second behind Talentadong Pinoy was GMA-7′s Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho with 25.3 percent; followed by Imbestigador (23.5 percent), and ABS-CBN’s XXX (20.9 percent) to complete the Top 5.
TNS National TV Ratings (July 10-13): Wowowee regains solo leadership

After sharing the top slot with Kambal Sa Uma last week, ABS-CBN’s noontime show Wowowee regaines solo leadership in the daytime race. This is based on the latest overnight ratings conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) among national households.
Wowowee, hosted by Willie Revillame, topped the daytime race last Friday, July 10, and yesterday, July 13. Kambal Sa Uma settled in second place in both days; while Precious Hearts Romances Presents Bud Brothers consistently held on to third place.
The battle for the rest of the Top 10 was free-for-all with the following programs fighting it out: GMA-7′s Eat Bulaga!, Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat Sa Akin, and Ngayon at Kailanman; and ABS-CBN’s Naruto Shippuuden, Mr. Bean, Love Or Bread, and Maria de Jesus: Anghel Sa Lansangan.
The primetime race, on the other hand, is still dominated by ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block.
The Kapamilya network occupies the Top 5 slots (May Bukas Pa, TV Patrol World, Tayong Dalawa, Only You, and Boys Over Flowers) while another one (The Wedding) also made it in the winning column.
The other slots are being contested by the following GMA-7 programs: Zorro, 24 Oras, Rosalinda, and Adik Sa ‘Yo.
John Lloyd Cruz not that refreshed with his U.S. vacation because of “paparazzi photos”

Actor John Lloyd Cruz was unflustered even though he was already two hours late to the launch of the newly-renovated Greenwich Robinson’s Galleria branch, which he endorses, yesterday, July 13. The celebrity endorser looked friendly and accommodating even with the bevy of controversies currently hurled at him.
Respecting the request of the big bosses of the pizza chain, however, the entertainment press did not ask John Lloyd about his rumored relationship with actress and TV host Ruffa Gutierrez, so that he would not lose his good mood.
But the reporters were able to ask John Lloyd about his U.S. vacation, which he claims was not that refreshing for him. The Box-Office King went to the U.S. last month to join the Star Magic Concert Tour and to rest for his birthday. He was not able to rest well, however, because showbiz news back home was abuzz with sightings of the actor spending time with Ruffa.
Cash for Clunkers Stimulus Program – Dealers Awaiting Fine Print
chuvachienes on News, Politics
Part of a new Federal Stimulus Program is a program called C.A.R.S – Car Allowance Rebate System. It allows owners of older cars, primarily gas guzzlers to trade in their vehicle for cash between $3500 to $4500 US Dollars to purchase a more efficient vehicle. The Federal Government has alloted $1 billion dollars for this program hoping that it will work similar to what Germany has done which boosted their car sales by 40%.
Dubbed as the Cash for Clunkers program, or Car Allowance Rebate System, was signed into law last month by President Barack Obama and officially started July 1. But for dealerships who have customers who qualify won’t actually get their cash until July 23rd.
Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s largest carmaker, is advancing money to U.S. dealers so they can sell cars immediately to customers taking advantage of the deal, according to media reports.
Part of the overdrive is a worry that the money allocated to the program, just $1 billion, will run out before it expires on Nov. 1.
These are few of the qualifications:
- Your car must have had an MPG of 18 mpg or less when it was brand new (the time that the car first rolled off the lot)
- Your car should only be 25 years old or less
- You should own the car for at least one year and insured within that full year under your name
- Your car must be in drivable condition.
Germany’s program worked really well. The difference? They invested $5 billion dollars in the program. Find out more – Visit Cars.gov

A lazy Sunday afternoon with friends..
Well folks, I had a great weekend with friends. I’m going to share some pictures with you. These are good friends of mine (Juan and Ken) and one whom I just met (Bob). We went out last Friday and had a blast. It was Philadelphia’s Jaded Lounge Event at 12th Air Command. The longest running Asian Party in Philadelphia. All I can say is, “We had a blast!”
So on Sunday, I was invited to go to brunch with them. They initially planned on going to William Douglas in Cherry Hill, NJ until I opened my big mouth and boasted about the “special brunch” at The Mansion in Voorhees, NJ. I’ve heard so many things about that place that I had to mention it knowing Princess Juan would like nothing else but the best.
We were dressed in shorts and t-shirts. We didn’t know that The Mansion is a high falutin, dress-your-best kind of place. After getting lost in the place trying to find where the brunch is held, we finally found it only to be told that they just stopped serving brunch. (I personally think we were inapropriately dressed for the place – ha!)
So, we traveled to Cherry Hill and went to William Douglas. It’s’ a gem. Last Sunday was the first time they were serving brunch at$19.95 with several choices on the menu. I must tell you all – if you live close to Cherry Hill, NJ, you should try this place. The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was super perfect.
The ambiance. All yours for $19.95!
The table setting…
The muffin tray with “mimosa cocktails”..
The fresh fruit plate with cantaloupe, strawberries, oranges and watermelon slices.
Three of us ordered this delicious filet mignon and poached egg over sour dough bread… topped with hollandaise sauce…
Of course, one has to be different… french toast topped with fresh bananas…
The friends – - Ken, Juan, Bob and Chuva…
Ryan Seacrest – The Highest Paid Reality Show Host – - Whopping $45 M over three years
Oh to be Ryan Seacrest. He has built an empire like no other. Known to be one of the “hardest-working man in entertainment”, he was ranked at number 44 on Forbes 2009 Celebrity 100. With endorsement deals with Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola, there is no stopping him now.
He used to earn a reportedly almost $5 M a year hosting the Idol Competition. Now, he will be making three times that amount per year at $15 M per year! Whoah!
He’s done a great job and has given “American Idol” a great run. It just wouldn’t be the same without him hosting the show. Well done Ryan!
And if you’re looking at what I’m looking at the pic above… aren’t you pleasantly surprised? I think his jeans are a little too soft.. haha!

“He had Bebot. In fairness to Apl.de.ap, who came from Pampanga sa Black Eyed Peas in every album and thank you Black Eyed Peas, pinapayagan siyang maglagay ng Pinoy song.” “He’s been with Black Eyed Peas for a while pero si Charice naman, give the poor girl a chance dahil nag-uumpisa pa lang siya. She’s very young so huwag naman natin siyang laitin. At least she’s brought honor to our country.”
KC Concepcion says it is her first time to be courted the traditional way

“First time nga po akong nililigawan ng traditional. Parang hindi siya nagmamadali. Siguro ‘yun nga, traditional nga. May respeto talaga sa babae. Matino.
Ai-ai Delas Alas on rumored Venezeluan boyfriend: ‘Hindi naman masyadong nag-prosper ang love life namin’

Ai-ai Delas Alas took the showbiz world by surprise when she revealed that she had been dating a younger Venezuelan model named Julio Cabrera. Last May, Ai-ai walked down the red carpet premiere of her movie BFF with Julio, a 25-year-old former Mr. Venezuela-International, in tow. Ai-ai and Julio acted very sweet together in front of the crowd so many assumed the relationship will blossom into a full-blown romance.
However, at the set of May Bukas Pa where she is about to make a guest appearance, Ai-ai stated that her romance with Julio did not prosper. “Si Julio? Nandito pa ba siya? (laughs) Ewan ko kung nandito pa siya sa Pilipinas. Hindi naman masyadong nag-prosper ang love life namin. Busy din kasi siya and three months lang yata siya dito and after that babalik na siya sa Venezuela.” She added that she and Julio just communicate through text now. “Text text na lang kami ngayon. Hindi na kami masyadong nagkikita. Nung huli kaming magkatext nasa Boracay siya. Hindi na ako sumama. Ayoko. Nag-inarte?! Hahaha!”
According to the box-office comedy queen, language and geography may have gotten in the way of her possible romance with Julio. Ai-ai explained why she has no plans of going with Julio to his home country. “Sa Venezuela? Naku naman, neng, dito nga nahihirapan na akong kausapin siya dun pa kaya sa sarili niyang bansa?! Mahirap kasi ‘yung language nila. Nag-aaral na nga akong ng iba’t ibang wika ngayon, French, Italian, lahat. Para at least kapag pumunta ako sa mga bansang ‘yun e may alam naman akong sabihin,” as if insinuating that she is considering a new guy of another nationality. “Iba naman. Taga-Greece naman, ha ha ha!,” Ai-ai joked.
But with Julio out of the picture, Ai-ai will now have more time to be with her new man, former President Joseph Estrada as they begin shooting a movie for Star Cinema. Ai-ai shared that one of her prayers at the moment is the positive turn out of the monumental film. “I pray na i-bless ni Bro ‘yung movie na gagawin namin ni Mr. Erap Estrada. Mag-start na kaming mag-shoot at baka ipalabas sa October. Kaya pinili kong mag-guest sa May Bukas Pa para makapagdasal ako kay Bro na basbasan Niya ‘yung gagawin naming pelikula, nang bonggang bongga.”
Ai-ai said that she feels so honored to have been chosen by Erap to be his leading lady in his first film in 20 years. “Ito ay napalaking pangyayari sa buhay ko at aking career kasi after a very long time ngayon lang uli gagawa ng pelikula si dating Pangulong Estrada. It’s an honor na ako ‘yung napili niyang makasama sa pelikulang ito. Ang saya ko dahil madaming blessings ang dumarating sa akin.”
The story of the film is yet to be disclosed, but the people are already wondering as early as now if there will be a kissing scene between the funny girl and the former president. Ai-ai said that she is very much ready to kiss Erap in the movie. “Nag-kiss na kami dati sa isang event, pero smack lang ‘yun. Ewan ko lang dito sa pelikulang gagawin namin kung may kissing scene, kung mas matindi ang gagawin namin. Ready naman ako kung sakali. Ang tanong ready ba siya, hahaha!”

Michael Jackson was Murdered – La Toya Jackson

Allegedly, $2 million worth of missing cash and jewels from Michael’s home and his net worth is far more than what was originally anticipated, Michael Jackson’s sister La Toya spoke to News of the World and stated the following:
“Michael WAS murdered,” declared La Toya, 53. “And we don’t think just one person was involved. Rather, it was a conspiracy of people. I feel it was all about money. Michael was worth well over a billion in music publishing assets and somebody killed him for that. He was worth more dead than alive.”
The grief-stricken sister of Michael Jackson, who is the closest to Michael in the family clan spoke out several days after Los Angeles Police said that they haven’t ruled out homicide just yet.
“He was taken from us too soon. Michael didn’t have to die.”
And she vowed: “I know who did it and I won’t rest until I nail them!”

Weekend Box Office Winner: BRUNO with $30.4 M
Who would have thought that a movie like Bruno would take the box office by storm? I guess he’s proven it once again. Sasha Cohen’s latest film fared a little better than Borat even though word-of-mouth review of the movie was bad as twitted and facebooked by people. “Do not see Bruno, worst movie of the year!”, one Facebook status said.
The movie was followed by Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs claiming number two and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen taking the number three spot.
We’ll see how it goes as the next weekend comes in with the opening of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on Wednesday, July 15th.
Demi Moore’s abs are fab at 46
I have admired her even before she catapulted to fame when she starred in “Ghost”. She was a star I watched in “St. Elmo’s Fire”, and “About Last Night” with Rob Lowe.
She was a little chunkier then, just like Madonna. But these stars do have a way of keeping their body in shape. Demi Moore denies rumors of undergoing plastic surgery. She did accept that she has gone through unconventional procedures such as detoxing her body including allowing leeches to suck her blood.
She has hired an army of health professionals though from a nutritionist, a trainer and yoga teacher – she keeps up. The mother of three is now married to Ashton Kutcher (who is another hottie if you ask me!) and shows no sign of slowing down.
She recently vacationed at the Bahamas with her husband and she showed off washboard abs better than an teenager. Way to go Demi!!
Blue’s Duncan James admits he’s bisexual

We surely come in all shapes and sizes. There is really no one who can judge what we should and should not be unless they’ve been in that person’s situation.
Here’s a cute bloke, Duncan James – who just admitted that he is Bisexual. It took him over 30 years to admit his sexuality to himself. He probably felt that it was better than living a lie.
His statements:
“I was living a secret life. I went through a process of asking what the f*** am I?
“Am I gay? Am I straight? Am I bi? That’s why I was so frightened about talking. Now, in my early 30s, I know who I am and I’m proud of who I am. I don’t want to hide anymore.
“I want to be out and say I’ve had relationships with men as well as women.”
“Up until that point I’d never had those feelings towards a guy before. But this person came into my life and put a spanner in the works. I definitely loved him. It was my first experience like that.
“I never believed I could have those feelings for a guy. It had been so closed to me being a strict Catholic.”

Of course, we all know Richard Tyler. He is a designer who has dressed up the likes of Julia Roberts, Heather Locklear and Jamie Lee Curtis. Well, he has been hired by Delta Airlines (the biggest airline operator in the world) to design the new dresses for their flight attendants, airport agents and workers.
The dress in question is the Signature RED dress where the size only goes up to size 18. The acquisition of Northwest Airlines by Delta has left out pre-merger Northwest flight attendants who have filed the complaint that they want to be able to wear the stylish red dress but it is not available in bigger sizes. They want the design to go up to size 28.
According to Yahoo News:
“The sizing of our red dress has not been an issue with Delta flight attendants since the program’s inception three years ago. This is AFA hype leading up to the election,” Laughlin said.
There are roughly 21,000 flight attendants at the combined airline, 14,000 from pre-merger Delta and 7,000 from pre-merger Northwest.

The most bizarre twist to this murder suicide case of Steve McNair together with his girlfriend Sahel Kazemi has been on the headlines everywhere. Allegedly, traces of gunpowder were found on Sahel Kazemi speculating that she shot Steve McNair and then killed herself.
Sahel was apparently apprehended for DUI charges and the alleged murder-suicide occurred right after she was released from jail.
There were no clear reasons given as to her motive in killing Steve McNair. Most recently, a photo of Steve McNair and Mechelle Cartwright surfaced online.

FHM opens university for 100 Sexiest Women in the country
Campus life was never this tempting and colorful!

This is the most apt way to describe the victory party of FHM 100 Sexiest Women-dubbed as FHM University-which was held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City last July 9.
With more than 3,000 Pinoys in attendance, Hall A of the venue became scorching hot-literally and figuratively. A long runway connected the two stages at both ends, thus giving the audience a clear view of the show, and the gratification they needed. Plus, there were booths which aimed to entertain and stimulate at the same time.
For the benefit of those who were absent from class, here’s a rundown of what happened.
PRESENTING THE STUDENT BODY. FHM University officially opened at 9:50 p.m., with “headmistress” Rufa Mae Quinto welcoming the excited crowd. The audience were instantly captivated by her sexiness and sense of humor.
“Mag-enjoy po tayo dahil umpisa pa lang ng gabi. Tuwang-tuwa po ako dahil lahat kayo ay nag-enroll sa aming school. Gusto niyo, turuan ko kayo?” teased the sexy comedienne.
Rufa Mae also presented the various sponsors , which were referred to as “orgs,” and their model-endorsers, who were given a few minutes of fame on the ramp. The one who earned the highest text votes will be featured in the August 2009 issue of FHM.
Rufa Mae’s portion was brief, but she surely succeeded in intensifying the energey onstage.
After the headmistress, the council president, in the person of Jayme Joaquin, arrived. The Games Uplate Live host livened the show with her flirty spiels, and her outfits- from the cheerleader costume to the purple backless number to the topless (a small whiteboard covered her breasts) attire.
At 10:36 PM, actress Bangs Garcia, who placed 11th in the list, was the first of the 100 Sexiest Pinays to perform a dance number with the FHM Pep Squad. She was clad in a sequined yellow midriff blouse, a leather bikini skirt, and fishnet stockings.
Iwa Moto, who placed sixth, left the males enthralled by her charm and sex appeal. She was the perkiest actress to hit the stage, strutting on the catwalk with a big smile and waving to fans. The Filipina-Japanese actress danced to a hip-hop song wearing a pink sundress and black baby boots.
The next segment featured a roster of 20 female models, supposedly from the College of Miscommunication, who modeled edgy and postmodern swimsuits.
CURVES ON THE LEARNING CURVE. Actress Carlene Aguilar, the 20th sexiest Pinay, flaunted her curves at 11:06 p.m. Representing the College of Female Engineering, the 2005 Bb. Pilinas-World donned a black bolero jacket over pink strapless blouse, a black bikini, and fishnet stockings.
Carlene’s act was followed by another fashion show showcasing 20 female models in silver, futuristic-inspired bikinis.
At 11:19 p.m., young actress Paw Diaz electrified the World Trade Center with Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” the remixed version. The Star Circle Quest finalist led the throng of FHM University’s foreign exchange students, who strutted on the runway representing different countries.
Temperatures rose at 11:31 p.m. when hot momma Aubrey Miles swam out of a pink sea of cloth to perform Justin Timberlake’s “Like I Love You.” With her checkered skirt, black and white blouse, fishnet stockings and white strap boots, she looked like a Barbie cheerleader. She is also the magazine’s cover girl this month.
Sweet-faced Pauleen Luna showed off her curves and dancing prowess with the Black Eyed Peas’ “Pump It.” The Eat Bulaga! host, who wore a green blouse, tight black pants, and black boots, gave a quite wholesome yet irresistible performance. She represented the ladies from the School of Femme Arts who paraded their abstract yet still alluring swimming attires.
FHM sex guru Paloma was the first celeb to wear a gold string two-piece bikini. Gyrating to the tune of Disturbed’s “Down With the Sickness,” she kept the guys’ eyes glued onstage.
The night’s highlight was, of course, the presentation of the top 100 finalists of the magazine’s survey this year. At 12:15 PM, the ramp became star-studded! Present were Sheena Halili (97th), Chariz Solomon (93rd), Alyssa Alano (88th), Sheree (79th), Gwen Garci (54th), Niña Jose (47th), Andrea del Rosario (38th), Krista Ranillo (31st) and the EB Babes (24th).
Noticeably absent were Marian Rivera (3rd), Angel Locsin (4th) and Katrina Halili (5th), who snagged the first place for the past two years.

After its soft debut at No. 6 last Monday, July 6, GMA-7′s newest primetime series Rosalinda, starring Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann, is beginning to show what it is truly capable of: dominating the ratings game.
From its debut performance of 26.3 percent, Rosalinda generated a 28.9 percent rating the next two nights—July 7 (Tuesday) and July 8 (Wednesday)—to move to third place. Last night, July 9 (Thursday), its rating rose to 31.9 percent and climbed up again to No. 2.

Does Kim Chiu want to be the next Vilma Santos?

Actress Kim Chiu was among the Star Magic artists chosen to re-enact some notable scenes from different Vilma Santos movies for a TV special feature on ABS-CBN. Kim re-enacted a scene from Dahil Mahal Kita: The Dolzura Cortez Story wherein the lead character was told by the doctor that she has AIDS. The doctor was played by Pinoy Dream Academy 2 runner up Bugoy Drilon. The scene was very memorable because of Vilma’s acting when she slapped the doctor.
The real challenge for Kim and Bugoy was to act out the scene in front of Governor Vi and Laurice Guillen, the director of the film and also the host of the said TV special. Both women cheered with the audience and guests at the event after Kim and Bugoy delivered a convincing portrayal. Gov. Vi then asked Bugoy, who was still shaking and blushing, on how was it like doing the scene. “Singer po ako. Pero masarap din pala sampalin, ha ha ha! Naramdaman ko talaga ‘yung eksena. Feeling ko doktor talaga ako.” He adds that he tried his best to imagine himself in the doctor’s shoes. “Nilagay ko yung sarili ko sa sitwasyon, doktor ako kaya kailangan kong sabihin sa kanya na may sakit siya kahit na alam kong masasaktan siya. Hindi ako pwedeng tuluyang maawa sa kanya. ‘Yun ang mahirap sa character ko.”
Kim said that she was very nervous while preparing for the act. The Tayong Dalawa star shared to Gov. Vi how she managed to motivate herself to deliver a convincing performance so as not to disappoint the multi-awarded actress. “Iniisip ko na ako talaga ‘yung sinasabihang may AIDS. Ako ayokong magkaroon nu’n. Katulad nung character ganu’n din siguro ‘yung mararamdaman ko sa tunay na buhay. Inilabas ko lang kung ano ‘yung sarili kong magiging reaksyon, na ayaw niyang maniwala, ayaw tanggapin ‘yung totoo.”
Gov. Vilma earned numerous awards for her portrayal in the Dolzura bio-film. The movie icon also shared with Kim and Bugoy a very important acting tip which she said will surely help any actor in making a powerful delivery. “Mas maganda kung wala talaga kayong any idea kung ano ang mangyayari. Dun lalabas ‘yung tinatawag na ‘raw’ acting. Bago, walang ginaya, kung ano na lang ‘yung lumabas, ‘yun na ‘yun. I guess the best acting talaga is ‘yung raw.”
Direk Laurice also had good observations regarding Kim and Bugoy’s performance. The veteran director-actress commended the willingness of the two young stars to immerse themselves in such a dramatic scene. “Si Kim mabilis siyang naapektuhan nung eksena, bago pa magsimula nung napapanood pa lang niya ‘yung VTR. Si Bugoy naman I sensed na parang naawa ka na agad sa kanya. Nakita na ‘yung kailangan mo sabihin ay isang napaka-serious na news.”

Arnel Pineda on Freddie Aguilar: ‘I think medyo nag-overboard siya.’

Arnel Pineda disproves Freddie Aguilar’s claim that some Filipino singers, who are now earning international recognition are like brown monkeys, imitating foreign acts to establish music careers. Ka Freddie allegedly cited Arnel and Charice Pempengco as examples.
Although Arnel said that he respects the veteran singer’s opinion, he still believes that what really counts is having real talent. “In a way, I understand where he (Freddie) is coming from, (of) being nationalistic,” Arnel began. “But I think it doesn’t end there na kailangan Tagalog ka lang, na kailangan mahalin mo lang ang wika natin at hindi kailangan na matutunan ang kultura ng ibang tao. I think medyo nag-overboard siya nang sinabi about the word monkey. Kasi kapwa niya kami Pilipino so I think hindi kailangan na mag-name ng ganoon kasi like I said, pareho kaming Pinoy. I still respect him as an artist. I am so aware of what he has achieved and what he has contributed para sa Pinoy, and I really admire him being nationalistic,” Arnel said.
Arnel also explained that Filipinos now are more open-minded and that singing foreign songs do not make local singers less of a Filipino. On the contrary, it only proves how ready and prepared Filipino singers are for the world limelight. “And we are very very equipped (for international recognition) and I think that alone kailangan happy na siya doon,” he pointed out.
He added that the folk song singer has to realize that people take different paths and what matters is that some local artists are given opportunities in the international music scene and are able to give pride to their country. “I think he needs to know and he needs to respect what I have chosen para sa path ko at para sa career ko. As far as I’m concerned, I’m still proud of what I have achieved and I’m even more proud na ganun ang naibibigay ko sa (Pilipinas). I think he should respect that. Iba-iba lang kami ng path na pinili, pero at the end of the tunnel, pare-pareho pa rin kaming Pilipino.” Case in point, Arnel declared that he is proud of his roots and he has no intentions to change any of that even if he is the new vocalist of the iconic American band, Journey. “I was born here and I will die here as a Filipino. Hindi magbabago ‘yon no matter what language pa ang pag-aralan ko,” he stressed.
At the end of the interview, Arnel gave a message to Ka Freddie. “I understand where you’re coming from and I truly believe you have contributed a lot. You have given a lot of your talent and your passion for the Filipino. Sana you continue to share your wonderful talent para sa ating mga kababayan. I understand kung ano ang sinabi mo. I hope next time you will never say that again, kapwa mo kami Pilipino. We are only trying our best para maging kapaki-pakinabang lang sa bansa.”

Charice Pempengco denies that her first Manila concert was a flop

After Charice Pempengco’s first solo concert at the SMX Convention Center last June 30, rumors began to crop up that the show was a flop. But the young international singing sensation argued that it was actually a huge success based on the swarming crowd who attended the event. Pero pinakita nila that night na talagang puno yung SMX,” she explained in an interview with Showbiz News Ngayon aired last July 7.
She may have rubbed elbows with various Hollywood celebrities and appeared in shows and events abroad, but her detractors pointed out that her growing fame in the international scene doesn’t have the same effect in her own country. “Para po sa akin, hindi naman ako nakikipag-[compete]. Kung hindi po ako sikat dito, e bahala po sila. Basta po ako ginagawa ko lang yung work ko as a singer na pasayahin yung mga tao. Kung hindi sila satifisfied dun, salamat [na lang] po sa lahat ng mga nanonood sa akin kasi pinapakita po talaga nila na kilala nila ako,” she replied when asked to comment about the said issue.
Despite the constant intrigues being thrown her way, Charice chose to look at the brighter side of her career and enjoy the loyalty of her local fans who have made her My Inspiration album a certified Gold record-holder. She sold even more copies during her recently-concluded mall show. “Nagpasalamat ako sa kanila kasi every time na may mall show ako lagi ko silang nakikitang bumibili ng CD. Naiisip ko nga, ‘Ilan na kaya yung CD nila sa bahay na pare-pareho lang?’ Sana po kahit na nasa States na po ako suportahan niyo pa rin yung album ko. Make it platinum!” she beamed.

Michael Phelps Broke Another World Record! Must be the Speedo! :)
For a young man to accomplish what Michael Phelps have accomplished in swimming, one has to wonder – - he must be set for life! With all the endorsements from high profile advertisers, he must be laughing all the way to the bank.
I’m sure that he earned it by training really well and disciplining himself. Holder of five world records (the last one he recently broke), it is obvious that he’s just getting started.
He is gifted and we just hope that he keeps out of trouble. A ton of cash for a young guy like him may become trouble if mishandled.
Congratulations Michael!
