I have been infatuated many times in my life. Honestly, too many times that I can’t even count them anymore. But I’ve only fallen in love three times. It’s not a slight on the people I’ve been infatuated with – it’s simply the truth.
I just heard a very nice story from a good friend of mine who’s never fallen in love in his life when I met him. After 12 years of losing in touch with him, we finally got the chance to catch up on things. He fell in love in a way that only happens on story books. It was a meeting by chance and the relationship was totally unexpected. They started out as really good friends. They became best friends first. Then, one night – under the moonlit skies – they realized that they were in love with each other.
The relationship didn’t last long – it only lasted two years. Yet, from how he relates the story to me – it seems as if he was experiencing it for the first time. I just had to smile.
That is why this movie is one that I would like to watch. I want to believe in fairy tales again. I want to believe that true love does exist. Do you think it’s possible? Does love really just happen?

Dongyanatics.org donates P1.2 million to Dingdong Dantes’s YES Foundation

Sa TV special Dantes Peak ni Dingdong Dantes na ipinalabas kagabi, August 30 sa GMA-7, pormal nang ni-launch ang YES Pinoy Foundation, na itinatag ng aktor kasama ang ilang mga kaibigan. Ang naturang foundation ay naglalayong tulungan ang mga anak ng marines—lalo na yung mga namatay sa pakikipaglaban para sa bayan—sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng edukasyon sa kanila. Ang ibig sabihin ng YES ay Youth, Education, at Service.
Pero bago pa man ang launching ng YES Foundation ay nag-abot na ng kanilang tulong ang international chapter ng Dongyanatics Fans Club—isang grupo ng fans nina Dingdong at Marian Rivera. Ito ay naganap sa press conference para sa bookazine ni Dingdong noong August 25. Dumating ang dalawang representative ng dongyanatics.org upang personal na iabot ang kanilang post-birthday gift sa aktor, na nagdiwang ng kanyang 29th birthday noong August 2.
Final Destination grabs top spot at the Box Office with $28.3 M
The Warner Bros. horror flick “The Final Destination” took the number one spot raking in $23.8 Million this weekend kicking Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt’s “Inglorious Basterds” to the number 2 spot at $20 Million. Halloween II took the number three spot which is kinda strange having two horror films released on a weekend vying for the same audience but both did fine.

The third annual Star Magic Ball was a huge success with your favorite Kapamilya artists coming together just to have fun all night long. Without the usual demands of work, real-life sweethearts geared to full party mode particularly Billy Crawford-Nikki Gil and Kristine Hermosa-Oyo Boy Sotto. They were not just there to attend the event because it’s a must for Star Magic artists but these two pairs were seen having the time of their lives with their showbiz friends.
Hosting this magical affair were the best and brightest of Star Magic – Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, and Bea Alonzo who constantly joked about each other’s love lives, much to the amusement of their colleagues and ABS-CBN bigwigs including President Charo Santos-Concio and CEO Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III. As the representatives of the younger batch, Kim Chiu, Enchong Dee, and Shaina Magdayao were also there to co-host and make sure that everyone is really enjoying this big event.
Luis Manzano admits that Angel Locsin influenced him to accept ‘In My Life’

Nang tanungin ng The Buzz host na si Boy Abunda si Luis Manzano kung sino ang babaeng nais niyang dalhin sa premiere night ng pelikulang In My Life na nagtatampok din kina Vilma Santos at John Lloyd Cruz, sinabi ni Luis na ang kanyang kapatid na babae sa side ng kanyang amang si Edu Manzano ang gusto niyang dalhin. “Because it will probably be the first time na mapapanood niya ako on the big screen with something as big as this, ‘yung project na ito. I would love to take my sister,” sagot ni Luis. Pagkatapos ay idinagdag niya na nais din niyang maimbitahan si Angel Locsin, ang kasintahan na napapabalitang ka-bre-break lang sa kanya ngayon. “And I would love that Angel would watch at the same time.” Ipinaliwanag ni Luis na malaki ang kinalaman ni Angel upang tanggapin niya ang pelikulang ito. “I wouldn’t lie, dahil in terms of me accepting this project, Angel was a very, very big factor. 3rd Star Magic Ball celebrates 17 years of developing ABS-CBN talents

Photographers lined the red carpet as dozens of celebrities wearing formal gowns and suits paraded before them. Continuing a grand tradition that started three years ago, ABS-CBN once again organized a Star Magic Ball to mark the 17th anniversary of its talent management and development arm.
Last night, August 30, PEP witnessed how the Rizal Ballroom of Shangri-La Makati was filled to capacity with the homegrown talents of ABS-CBN being handled by Star Magic.
“Congratulations to Mr. M [Johnny Manahan, who heads Star Magic],” said Ms. Charo Santos-Concio, President of ABS-CBN in her speech that night. “Tonight, we celebrate 17 years of great talent management and development. This is a night of class, glamour, and romance.”

Did Google Earth really capture a shot of the Loch Ness Monster?

Google Earth, the virtual map that was originally called the Google Viewer which captures images via satellite imagery and aerial photography seems to have captured the elusive and world famous lake monster “Nessie”.
Earlier this month Jason Cooke, while searching Google Earth from his home believes in Nottingham, Scotland to have spied the Loch Ness monster.
Could it simply be a ship? Or does this legendary monster really exist?
The first reported sighting of the monster dates back 1500 years ago when witnesses claimed that some kind of a beast leaped out of the lake and ate a farmer. Since then, the obsession to determine if the monster exist has been never-ending.
In 1934, even an MIT professor who spotted and took a photograph of what seemed to be Nessie, put his reputation on the line swearing that the photograph was authentic. Then, in 1960 – a home video taken by a family enjoying a picnic by the lake captured a strange figure which was later analyzed by British intelligence and concluded that the strange figure is an “animate object”

Fans of Willie Revillame will have to wait until September 20 – or not at all.
Willie Revillame is said to have extended his “leave” until September 20th when he is expected to return to his popular show, “Wowowee”. Unconfirmed reports through a text message was received by PEP stating that MTCRB have decided to continue Willie’s suspension until September 20th and that the dance routines of Luningning and Saicy.
ABS-CBN’s official statement reads:
“In the interest of self-regulation, ABS-CBN has availed of the conciliation process under Section 6, Rule 7, of the MTRCB Rules of Procedures, regarding the incidents involving Mr. Willie Revillame in the Program Wowowee. After having considered the facts, issues and terms of self-regulation to be imposed in the pertinent cases, the MTRCB has approved the same.
“WHEREOF, the ABS-CBN shall undertake to perform the following:
1. Extend Mr. Revillame’s leave until 20 September 2009, and
2. Remove the present dance segment of Luningning and Saicy.
“FURTHER, ABS-CBN reiterates that it is fully aware of its legal and moral responsibilities as a broadcaster and shall undertake to continue to uphold the values and customs of the Filipino viewing public.” – Source
In a statement, PEP said that they have received reports that Willie Revillame will not return to the show at all being hurt by the situation where ABS-CBN didn’t come to his defense at this very crucial incident.
There are also strong indications that Willie is being courted to run for office in 2010 by politicians to which no confirmation has yet to be received from Willie himself.

John Lloyd Cruz regards ‘In My Life’ as a milestone in his career
John Lloyd Cruz revealed that he never hesitated about accepting the gay role in Star Cinema’s In My Life. Since the project was Vilma Santos’s movie comeback, John Lloyd immediately said yes for a chance to work with the Star for All Seasons. At the press conference for the film, the Box Office King explained why he couldn’t find it in his heart to turn down In My Life. “This is the first time na makakatrabaho ko sa pelikula si Direk Olivia Lamasan at si Ate Vi at matindi talaga ang pressure sa akin. The whole experience of doing this movie is like doing sky diving for the first time. Kapag nasa eroplano ka na nasa taas alam mong wala ka nang choice kung hindi tumalon. Sam Milby says he might do a movie with Angel Locsin
Angel Locsin and Sam Milby’s chemistry in the recently concluded teleserye Only You earned them fans who faithfully tuned in each week night to watch the love story between their characters unfold. At a recent contract signing for a new endorsement, Sam revealed that there have been talks of a movie to be headlined by Angel and himself. “They were talking about maybe next year, andaming nagsasabi na maganda ‘yung chemistry namin,” said Sam.
Jaycee Lee Dugard – missing girl found alive 18 years later – a miracle

Jaycee Lee Dugard was abducted on June 10, 1991 as her step father watched her being snatched away. She was 11 years old. Full blown searches by volunteers and the authorities stood in vain. Calls by her mother for her return on national TV left unanswered. 18 years later, she was found alive.
Kaycee was abducted by a man named Phillip Garrido ( a convicted rapist) and his wife Nancy. Phillip fathered Kaycee’s children ages 15, and 11 years of age. Kaycee was kept in Antioch, California in a backyard covered with tarp and tents. Kaycee and her two children were not allowed out of the house, have never seen a doctor or gone to school.
Phillip Garrido and Nancy Garrido were arrested for investigation of kidnapping and conspiracy. Phillip is also being held for investigation of rape by force, lewd and lascivious acts and sexual penetration with a minor.
People are asking how a convicted rapist (served time in a Nevada prison) can go on for 18 years with an abducted girl without anyone finding out when he was supposed to be on the watch list. Is this a sign of a failed system?

GMA-7 fantaserye Darna continues to soar in the primetime race, consistently generating 40-plus ratings for the last three days, August 25 to 27. This is based on the latest overnight ratings of AGB Nielsen Phils. among Mega Manila households.
Kapuso network’s primetime newscast 24 Oras and ABS-CBN drama series Tayong Dalawa are slugging it out for the second and third place.
The battle for rest of the Top 10 is wide open with the following shows going at it: GMA-7’s Rosalinda, Adik Sa ‘Yo, Survivor Philippines: Palau, and All My Life, and ABS-CBN’s Dahil May Isang Ikaw, TV Patrol World. May Bukas Pa, and The Wedding.
TNS National TV Ratings (Aug. 25-27): May Bukas Pa and Tayong Dalawa battle for primetime supremacy

ABS-CBN’s back-to-back drama series May Bukas Pa and Tayong Dalawa are engaged in a tight race for primetime leadership, based on the latest overnight ratings of Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) among National households.
The inspirational drama May Bukas Pa held the No. 1 position Wednesday (August 26) and Thursday (Aug. 27), while the heavy drama Tayong Dalawa topped the race Tuesday (Aug. 25).
Meanwhile, the third and fourth spots are being contested by ABS-CBN primetime newscast TV Patrol World and GMA-7’s fantaserye Darna.

Hala! Salamat sa reader who goes by the name of Regie who left links in the comment section of our TV Ratings post. The articles provided includes an alleged fraudulent activities by AGB Nielsen Media Research in Greece – stating “FIXED RATINGS” without proper measurements.
Kung ganon pala, may problema na talaga sa AGB Nielsen and advertisers should be wary of what AGB Nielsen puts out.

And not only that, AGB Nielsen is also going to be replaced as the measuring stick for ratings in the United Kingdom. This is surprising that in the wake of new technology and proper measurements, BARB will be transferring the ratings system from AGB to TNS.
In the UK, television audiences are currently measured by AGB Nielsen for the industry consortium Broadcasters Audience Research Board (Barb), though a new contract will transfer the majority of the work to WPP-owned TNS in 2010. – Source
This is a great wake up call to dig deeper into the results these TV rating companies put out into the public. Advertisers should investigate the integrity of these companies before they advertise on the programs that are being rated as number one.
I was surprised when I read the articles – - I guess it comes to no surprise to many because a lot of people are complaining about the results AGB Nielsen is providing in the Philippines when the general public knows what is and what is not popular.

Could Noynoy Aquino III be the running mate for VP hopeful Kiko Pangilinan?

Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has voiced out his support should Noynoy Aquino III decide to run for the Presidency in the 2010 Presidential Elections.
According to Inquirer.net, Senator Kiko Pangilinan will support Noynoy Aquino or Governor Padaca of Isabela should they decide to run. All three are members of the Liberal Party who is led by Presidential hopeful, Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas.
Pangilinan, who is eyeing the vice presidency next year, said he is willing to support the presidential bid of either Aquino or Isabela Governor Grace Padaca “if it will unite a true reformist agenda.”

I believe that even though I haven’t seen much of Noynoy Aquino in the public spotlight providing speeches or even voicing out his platform, it would still be a dream team should Noynoy be the Presidential running mate together with Kiko Pangilinan as Vice President. And if Noynoy is thinking of running – he should come out and bare his soul to the spotlight. People need to see what he has to offer.
Chuva Chienes, as I’ve said before isn’t really fond of meddling with politics. Puro cheezemax lang ang minememorya ni Chuva. But I am still aware of the struggles the Filipino people are going through. Who is going to be the best candidate for the Presidency come elections 2010? Who is really going to effect change in government?
It would require someone with a lot more political knowledge than Chuva to determine who is best and I can only voice out my own opinion at a very high-level. That doesn’t amount to much.
Putting it on the celebrity support for both Noynoy and Kiko – I think the pull is going to be massive given the convincing powers of mega-endorsers Kris Aquino, Sharon Cuneta and Judy Ann Santos. That trio alone can pull the masses together to vote.
The question remains – are they the one who fits the bill to rage war against a corrupt government? What do they have to offer?
I encourage every Filipino to look at the candidates beyond their celebrity status. We need true reform. We need real change.

Pilipinas GKNB sa pagbabalik ni Willie Revillame sa Wowowee?
Game ka na ba?? Willie Revillame is scheduled to come back and host his show “Wowowee” on August 29th. Many of his fans are excited to see him come back. But many who signed the online petition do not want to see Willie back on the show at all.
Wait! There are reports now that Willie will be suspended by the MTCRB until September 29th.
According to a texter who texted PEP,
“ABS-CBN and MTRCB are coming up with a statement saying that ABS will suspend Willie until the 29th of September. This is unacceptable to Willie because it implies he was guilty of something. His Kapamilya did not take care of a member of the family. So Willie is now inclined to tell ABS that he won’t be back at all and is ready to leave ABS.”
Of course, PEP tried to verify the news about the suspension, they were told that it is still UP IN THE AIR.
For one, said the ABS-CBN source, “walang suspension” and that the MTRCB “was still deliberating” as of press time. But the source admitted that there was a possibility that Willie’s “voluntary indefinite leave” may actually be “forcibly extended beyond August 29″ to appease the censors body.
The source, quoting someone from Willie’s camp, also said that Willie seemed to be unusually calm, although he feels that he is being made the “scapegoat” in this scenario. That is, the more likely event is that there will be a “suspension” or an “extension of Willie’s indefinite leave”—since the MTRCB was deliberating on a complaint it had itself launched, even if others joined in after.
As of this writing, the petition has gone up to 60557 total signatures. Maybe pressure from the petition is forcing MTCRB to act? Maybe not?
I guess we shall all see what happens on August 29th. Honestly, Wowowee is indeed different without Willie Revillame. I mean, no offense to Pokwang, Chokoleyt, and Mariel Rodriguez. I think they’ve done a great job – - most specially Gabby Concepcion for hosting two of the games.
The Standard Hotel in NYC – Peep Shows
I guess no one has to “start spreading the news” because it’s all over the media, newspapers, podcasts, news networks… The Standard Hotel in New York City (dubbed as the “Eyeful Tower” is drawing more than just tourists – - it’s drawing VOYEURS!
Yes folks, the New York City hotel has glass walls from floor to ceiling. Guests (or tenants) can either draw their curtains or create a show for onlookers. Guests who choose to walk around in the buff are more than welcome to – curtains drawn or not!
People have been reporting sexual acts being performed on broad daylight and many people are amused – but not all of them.
According to the New York Post – the hotel management actually encourage the raunchy behavior on their website but have recently retracted and stated:
“We will make a concerted effort to remind guests of the transparency of the guest windows”

I knew it – - it’s just a matter of time. Michael Jackson Alive?
I saw this video yesterday and I didn’t want to post it because I thought it was silly but I guess it’s worth posting because similar to some of Elvis Presley’s fans, someone wants someone to think that Michael Jackson is still alive.
A video showing the Coroner’s van (doesn’t really say when it was or where it was) going into some type of a gated driveway. As soon as the van parks, a person comes out of the van wearing what seems like a Michael Jackson outfit (white polo shirt and black pants) assisted by some kind of a body guard and heads into a door.
Will you believe that this is Michael Jackson? Of course not. It’s just interesting to see a video that captures a scene which seems suspicious.
Question:
Why would a Coroner’s van have someone inside that would come out and be assisted by someone only to immediately (as if in a hurry) go into a door as if they were trying to hid something?

Finally! “thirtysomething” out on DVD!
Well, you all probably know how old I am if I tell you that I’m one of the big followers of the 80s show, “thirtysomething”. I kept wondering how long it will take them to put it out on DVD since I wanted to reminisce and watch it during rainy days and the soon-to-arrive cool fall season.
My wait is over! The first season is out! The characters like Melissa, Gary, Michael and Hope, Elliot and Nancy, and of course – Ellyn. Although the show didn’t garner top ratings, it had created a following that I’m sure – just like me – that are eager to get a hold of the DVDs.
I hear that the remaining three seasons are to come out later as well. I am hunting it down now.. and ordering my copy before the Fall. I’m sure that the show is still relative nowadays. We’ll see. I’ll report it here.
iPhone users beware: Exploding iPhone
The second incident of an “Exploding iPhone” happened in France hurting a French Security guard when pieces of glass flew when his iPhone exploded.
Speculations link the exploding iPhones to overheating lithium batteries. One other incident involving French teenager earlier this month was reported.
It was reported before that the amount of iPhone explosions should be cause for alarm but Apple, the company that makes the iPhone assured users that these are “isolated incidents”.
Coconut farmers want Lani Mercado’s resignation as San Miguel Corp. Board Member

Coconut farmers are asking for the resignation of actress Lani Mercado from her position as one of the 15 board members in San Miguel Corporation (SMC), saying she is “not fit” for her position.
Centro Saka, Inc., a non-government organization that supports people’s initiatives for agrarian reform and rural development, said coconut farmers around the country were “surprised and disappointed” when the appointment was made public. The farmers are already discussing a unified statement asking for the actress’ resignation, the NGO said.

Orlando Jones and Dan Cortese hosts ABC’s “Crash Course”
ABC’s new game “Crash Course” airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. – a new type of “Wipeout” where players compete through outrageous obstacle courses.
It is totally similar to “Wipeout” as “Crash Course” offers the same prize money of $50,000.00 to the winners who must undergo a funny and ridiculous course via various driving challenges aboard souped-up cars that “are reinforced to withstand the most dangerous of crashes.”
Watch the new show to be hosted by hosts Orlando Jones (“MadTV”) and Dan Cortese (“Veronica’s Closet”) on ABC. This will be interesting.
Preliminary Results for Hottest Summer Pinoy Hunk
Hmmm – This doesn’t seem to be a stiff ( no pun intended!) competition at all. Sam Milby is ranking the highest among the list of hot pinoy hunks. For the past two days since the poll started, Sam Milby has garnered the most votes at 55 votes taking the lead. Followed by Gerald Anderson with 16 votes and Piolo Pascual coming in on third place with 14 votes.
This is very interesting guys! I never thought Sam Milby would rank the highest because I think that Rafael Rosell is sexy and so is Derek Ramsey. I used to have the hots for Diether Ocampo but since he lost all that weight and looking skinnier than normal – I think he lost a bit of hunkiness in him. Poll shows Diether to be the last with only 2 votes. Hmmm… I also thought Dingdong Dantes would get more votes considering he’s number 3 on E’s Sexiest Men in the World.
