My newfound respect for Kris Aquino. – Chuva

I didn’t know Kris Aquino that well. When she came to the limelight, I was already way detached from Philippine Showbiz. The only time I learned about her was when I started this blog. I heard about her past and there were times that she wasn’t acting as the daughter of President Cory Aquino. Things like going on national televison to air out her personal laundry and so forth. For anyone, they would probably say “Kahiya-hiya.”
Since my love for President Aquino was similar to the love I had for my mom, hearing those things about Kris felt like she was hurting my own mother. Since then, I had this thing against her for some reason.
But the recent events had changed my affection for Kris Aquino. With the death of her mom, I heard and read all the things that she did for former President Aquino. Kris was the one who stayed with Cory during her last days. She took a leave from work in order to spend more time with her mom, making sure that her mom is comfortable and always at her bedside to respond to anything that she may need or want. She stayed with Tita Cory until the end. Kris, for that we are grateful.
I began to admire her courage and her strength. Kris really stepped up to the plate and took the responsibilities in front of her. Then, I realized that I had judged her prematurely. Some or most of us have to really go through things in our lives in order to take that step to a more mature level. I believe that she has arrived and I am very proud of her.
I was looking for the Youtube videos of her interview with The Buzz during Tita Cory Aquino’s public viewing and instead I found these video of Kris (with a clip and interview of Cory Aquino) as she celebrated her birthday. Thanks to Tweency for the video uploads.
Here are the videos of Kris Aquino’s interview with The Buzz at La Salle Green Hills during the public viewing of President Corazon’s remains. Thanks to Danceball85 for sharing the videos with us.
Dear Kris,
I must commend you for your honest efforts and for relaying to us what you just said on The Buzz. It made us feel as if we were a part of your family, a part of Tita Cory’s last days.
I know that this is a very difficult time for your family and we are all continuing to pray for you and your family as well. We loved your mom dearly.
We are hoping and praying as well that a fire has been lit under each and every Filipino to do their part in protecting and preserving the democracy your parents have so vehemently sacrificed their lives for.
God bless and thank you Kris!

i am a big fan of kris aquino.
thanks for giving a good article for her.
No problem. I was actually impressed by her steadfastness during this difficult time in their lives. She took the lead and took care of everyone.

she said she loves her mother cory so much, i wish she had live a graceful life to honor her parents while Tita cory was still alive. Well I hope she has learned her lessons and I’m glad she remains as strong as her mom.
LawReal´s last blog ..Philippine Democracy: from Tita Cory or from Uncle Sam?
You’re welcome Miss Tin. I wasn’t a big fan of her until her recent display of her love and care for her mother. She deserves the praise.
…grabe tlga gling moh poh kris kya idol tlga kita.
,,,god blesss….
I find it impossible to respect a woman who spent most of her adult life being a pest, an idiot, and an inconvenience to everyone around her. Or have you all forgotten that she seems to have a knack for sleeping with other women’s husbands? She is a spoiled brat and parasite, nothing more. To glorify her is to glorify every social-climbing slut in the country. She is a disgrace to her father;s memory.
