Kris Aquino on the Willie Revillame Comment: He apologized. End of Story. But is this what Filipinos are looking for?

Willie Revillame spoke once again and admitted that he really did not intend to offend anyone but if he did, he apologized. According to the statement he gave to ABS-CBN News:
“I am asking forgiveness to those who were offended. I hope you understand I had no intention to offend. If there are people who were offended, I apologize. For myself, my intention there was to give respect and make the occasion a solemn one.”
“Kung ako’y hindi nila wine-welcome at sa tingin ko ho na ako’y hindi na welcome sa bawa’t Pilipino, sa araw-araw na gusto nila makasama, ako po’y aalis na sa programa,” he said.
The online petition filed by Filipinos worldwide must have caught the attention of MTRCB as MTCRB Chairwoman Laguardia stated, there could be sanctions imposed against Willie Revillame for violating KBP Code.
MTRCB: Willie violated KBP code
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, meanwhile, said it is eyeing possible sanctions against Revillame. It said Revillame’s comments falls under MTRCB’s jurisdiction and violates Presidential Decree 1986 Section 3c which states that the MTRCB may sanction portions of programs deemed “indecent, contrary to law and or good customs and injurious to the prestige of the Republic of the Philippines or its people.”
“It’s really a violation of PD 1986 and the [Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas] Code. He should have had respect. He should gone off air,” MTRCB Chairwoman Consoliza Laguardia said.
She said the MTRCB will send a letter to ABS-CBN management next week about its decision on Revillame’s case.
Revillame, meanwhile, said he will respect the decision of the government censors. He added, however, that what is important is that he has already explained himself to the Aquino family.
“Kung may pagkakasala ako at kailangan niyo akong ipakulong, e di magpapakulong ako,” he said.
“Ang importante ay nakausap ko na ang Aquino family. Natanggap nila na wala akong intensyon na mambastos sa kanila.” – Source
However, the supporters of Tita Cory who were deeply offended continued to sign the online petition addressed to MTCRB, ABS-CBN and PANA. The numbers continue to grow every minute as it has gone up to 13 thousand signatures as of this writing.
Columnist Ricky Lo contacted Kris Aquino via text message regarding the matter to obtain her opinion.
I texted Kris Aquino yesterday for her reaction and she texted back, “I spoke at length with Willie last night.”
Asked what they talked about, Kris replied, “Tito Ricky, may I just keep my conversation with Willie private? We are friends; he has always gone out of his way to be good to my kids, Josh especially. Nag-sorry siya to all of us. For me, end of story na.” - Source
Although I believe that it is really up to the Aquino Family to accept Willie’s forgiveness and surely we are glad that Kris Aquino humbly accepted Willie’s apologies. The only difference in this situation is that the Filipino people were offended as well and it will be interesting find out what the “supporters” would do even after Kris Aquino has stated her position on the matter.
From the comments on the petition, the Filipinos all over the globe want to see Willie reprimanded in order that he will learn from this experience. They insist that he should not be displaying arrogance and disrespect to anyone among his staff, producers, guests or contestants on the Wowowee show. And I believe, THAT is what FILIPINOS want to see.

With respect to the Aquino family, although willie mightve soundd arrogant, i believe he is just speaking from the heart. When I saw the live feed side by side some dancer gyrating to some upbeat music, it totally disgusted me. yes, it Would have been better if willie kept it off air, and abs listened to his plea. I guess rage of emotion does this to a person. I feel willie meant well…he should. I thinkkk he’s not dumb enough to disrespect the Aquino family during a difficult time. Its abs cbn’s fault. They shouldve paved way for the aquino feed,and the grieving filipinos instead of doing a live wowowee show, when they’ve been claiming that Cory freed them from the marcoses’ supression of the constitutional rights for freedom in journalism again. that’s the least they couldve done. Abs should also be given a penalty for bad decisions.
Blind arrogance belongs to people who are malleable to believes in a person reeking with arrogance and disrepect. Shame on people who still believes in Willie.

willie revillame was, is, and will be ARROGANT for a long, long, long time, if not his whole life. He’s been ejected how many times from almost every show he was in, still no development on his part.
Kris, Your Mom, the good President, is at the pedestal since then until now and hopefully forever like your Dad, our hero, that takes you and your whole family too. Just don’t comment on what happened and let the people and the righteous MTRCB be the judge. People were really hurt by this, please do not let willie revillame “the stain” put stain on the good Aquino siblings.
I wish they would stop generalizing ‘the filipino people’ I mean come on??? I am a filipino here, but I sure didn not find anything wrong with what Willie did. All he asked was for the inset feed to be removed cause it was a solemn-thing regarding former President Aquino’s funeral–and it was being inserted into a live show with the ASF dancers and all that! What is up the asses of these said Aquino supporters? They are just using Mrs. Aquino’s death to condemn. I mean I am sure Mrs. Aquino herself would not be so quick to judge, Kris even forgave–so why can’t these so-called supporters do the same? They just misread what Willie did. And I think those on MTRCB are just scared not to act on this cause it has something to do with the death of former president Aquino.
It’s always like this: Willie says something stupid (mukha kasing natural sa kanya yun), then people condemn him. Tapos he apologizes, sersyoso ang mukha, solemno ang boses, nang gigilid ang luha sa mata. Minsan may pa-iyak iyak pa. Tapos yung mga tao naman, maaawa. Sasabihin tao lang si Willie. Papatawarin na siya. Then tuloy ang ligaya (i-insultuhin na naman at u-utuin na naman yung mga contestants/mga tao). Until he opens his mouth again and comes another stupid and tasteless statement. And the cycle starts all over again.
The fact is ABS-CBN is keeping this guy no matter what. Because he brings in MONEY to the station. It’s not just Willie Revillame. It is ABS-CBN too na patuloy na sinasalaula ang mga tao.

a lot of filipino got annoyed, mad, and surprised on what he acted during that time, all of the filipinos are sympathizing to family aquino..all of the filipinos are grieving..then all of a sudden he will going to say those disrespectful words!!..i know he is now one of the richest and “powerful” here in the philippines..but please, know how to respect people..specially to the seniors..don’t use your money and power to show people that “hey guys you should respect me, you should follow me,,im the richest now..”..what an attitude..anyway what would you expect to the one who didn’t finish school..

i think it was abs cbn’s fault. they could have opted not to do a live show of Wowowee. But since they seem to want to hit two birds in one stone, they made a mess. willie, known for being outspoken and arrogant, could have actually objected in a more polite manner. too bad he did not. but then again, if it were me and i had old my bosses what i deem appropriate and they did not listen, i might have voiced out my objection on air too though not as repetitive and impolite as he did)

Mr. Willie Revillame is arrogance on saying that on air! He can wait for a break and air his grievances in respect to the filipino people. I don’t care wether Aquino family forgives him It’s not about them. It’s about the attitude of the host, his obligations to the people watching his show especially to the next generation. To ABS they are part of the wrong deeds Mr. Revillame is an employee who follows them. Mr. Revillame should face the consequences of his action but the ABS should also be sanction.

We should learn from our mistakes. If willie has a delicadeza he should resign from the show because this is the only way in order to heal the wounds of the filipino people by his insulting words and action he made during the show towards to our beloved tita cory. If Willie Revillame gets away with this again, Filipino TV will be hopeless. It’s going to be a steeper downhill from here. And that goes for the Filipino TV viewers as well. Wala na tayong pag-asang umangat ang moralidad kahit kelan. Tuluyan nang magiging bastos and kalidad ng ating local TV. Hangga’t pinapayagan si Willie Revillame at ang mga katulad niya na lumabas sa TV, ganyang ugali ang tinutularan ng ating kabataan. Dahil sa kanya, hindi na kami nanonood ng local channels. Willie Revillame does not deserve to be imprisoned for what he did. But he deserves to be PERMANENTLY REMOVED from Filipino TV because he is plain and simply INDECENT and DISRESPECTFUL. What Willie did was democracy. Hehehe he didn’t actually think of what could happen to him. He also has a point on what he said and I think his intention was purely to respect the late president, mali lang ang delivery.
I am not one of his fans but I still believe that he has a point though the words that he chose are not that good. May kasalana xa… yes that’s true but the point is… they were having fun and it was quite distracting to see some people were mourning.

I hope everything will be okay, what is wrong we keep on judging willie revillame, let the agency handled this and it’s up to ABS-CBN decide if they will let Willie back to WOWOWEE. Everybody deserves a second chance. If God forgives us why not HIM. His just like us, who commit a mistake. I commented him, na parang hindi na nakaapak ang kanyang paa sa lupa, at dapat marunong syang lumingon sa kanyang pinanggalingan and I think Willie should reflect on this whatever bad actions he’d made.
