Willie Revillame: “They’re lucky having me on the show.”

Nagsalita na si Willie Revillame during the taping of Citizen Pinoy with Atty. Michael Gurfinkel. Appearing calm and collected daw, Willie responded regarding accusations made by many of his “detractors”. In my view, magaling talaga si Willie with reference to hosting Wowowee and let us not deny that he is well-loved by many people most specially our lolos and lolas. He makes them smile, he entertains them. To our lolos and lolas, Willie is a big-hearted, fun-to-watch-kinda-guy. He has many fans and this is clearly visible when he launched his music CDs. I mean, let’s face it – the guy is no Josh Groban or Andrea Bocelli but he sold thousands of CDs!!
If you really step back and take a look at the whole situation, the commenters and signers of the Petition are mostly TFC subscribers. Calling them “detractors” may be a little too harsh because they are supporters of the Network where Willie resides. To have 56 thousand signatures worldwide demanding his ouster could be significant if we say that these people are simply “Willie haters”… that’s a lot of people to hate one game show host I would say.
He has many supporters – that’s for sure – but howcome the Petition to bring him back to Wowowee has only garnered 820 signatures as of this writing? – filed by Tagahanga ni Willie (wowowillie27@yahoo.com)

Regarding Johnny M’s defense of willie
“He knows the truth,” he says. “He’s a dignified man. Di naman nya yun gagawin kung may mali ako eh. Pag may mali ako, papagalitan ako nun.”
Regarding accusations that he doesn’t treat his staff well
“My staff has been calling me, they’re crying,’We miss you. We miss seeing you come in the studio early,’” he shares. “They’re lucky having me on the show, kasi lahat pinapakialaman ko talaga kasi dapat ganun ka ka-involved. You should be professional, but you should have a good heart.”
Regarding knowing his true friends
“I’ve talked to my friends, I’ve talked to my lawyers, Itold them at a meeting, I might go, I might resign from Wowowee,” confirming the issue that he has intentions to resign. “Everybody’s,’No, don’t do that.’ Sabi ko, it would still be my decision.”
Millie Gurfinkel (Atty. Gurfinkel’s wife) praised Willie
“You know how when he is having lunch and then there are fans waiting for him,” she relates. “He would stand up. You know normally a star would say, okay, you know, wait, let me just finish my food. He won’t let the fans wait.”

However, his decision to leave or not to leave the show is one thing where he would make us wait. As of this writing, there is no clear word yet on whether Willie will resign from the show or not. Willie has a scheduled meeting with Gabby Lopez III, the current Chairman and CEO of ABS-CBN on Thursday, Aug. 20, which will most probably be instrumental in Willie’s resolve of this issue. Whatever his decision may be, there is no doubt that the whole world will be waiting with bated breath.
