Vilma Santos said that she is not worried if some people might question her son Luis Manzano’s sexuality because of his gay role in the movie In My Life. “I know my son and aware naman ako na we’ll [just] be doing a movie. Personally as an artist, ang nasa isip ko it’s a good challenge for my son, it’s a good opportunity. Pero ‘yung personal kong maisip na tutuksuhin siya, I don’t think so. I know my son. So hindi naging isyu sa akin ‘yon,” she explained.

John Lloyd Cruz doesn’t want to hype on his kissing scene with Luis Manzano

picsblue

Ever since John Lloyd Cruz signed on to play a gay man in the Star Cinema offering In My Life co-starring Vilma Santos, many have been intrigued about the kissing scene involving him and the actor playing his lover in the film Luis Manzano. But at the press conference for the movie, John Lloyd admitted that he is concerned with the public’s overexcitement about the scene, which was shot at the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. “Natatakot kaming ma-label ‘yung eksena as ‘kissing scene.’ Hindi kasi siya basta kissing scene, it was an intimate scene. Napakaganda ng setting, hinintay talaga namin ‘yung tamang oras para ma-capture ‘yung the best lighting. Pinagsama-sama lahat ng factors and we were able to create a very beautiful scene. Sana kapag pumunta kayo sa sinehan hindi kayo nagaabang lang na ‘Uy! Magbra-brush na ‘yung lips nila!’ Sana makita niyo ‘yung tunay na intensyon ng eksena at ‘yung laman ng puso ng dalawang characters.

Chuvahotness# 21 – Zac Efron

zac-shirtless

I don’t know why I never thought of him.  Maybe because he was too young then when he started.  Or maybe his looks were too boyish back then.  Whatever.  I just know that he’s one of the hottest stars around – - and the hunkiest too.  He started bulking up after High School Musical – - and he never looked the same to me. Hahaha!

Zac Efron is as hot as can be. He could be likened to Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise during their younger days.  He’s got the appeal and he’s a sweetheart.  Nevermind the earwax issue.  I’m sure he already learned that lesson on personal hygiene.

He is currently filming The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud in Vancouver, BC.

Folks – here’s the set of photos of our Chuvahotness # 21 – - Mr. Zac Efron.  He seems to love going out SHIRTLESS a lot! :)   Not a problem for me.

According to E-Online.com, LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) is asking for the help of citizens in identifying the burglars that ransacked Lindsay Lohan’s home last Sunday morning.

The three individuals (seen at the video below) covered their faces with scarves and jackets while they tried to gain entry into Lindsay’s home. They finally gained entry through an unlocked door and were able to steal items that are valuable to Lindsay Lohan.

These people must know Lindsay because according to her, these people knew exactly what they were up to.

MRI Sex – This is very interesting.

You’ll find out what these figures are after you watch the video.

Photo Credit: Screencap from Youtube Video

Magnetic Resonance Imaging. We all know what that is right? It’s the tube where you go in to get a CAT-SCAN. It determines if you have any nasty tumor lingering behind the view of the naked eye.

Well, this time – the MRI machine was used just the same, except that it was used to record two people having sex. Dr. Van Andel tried to see if he can get any volunteers to do so. And he did!

For the first time, the recorded video is now presented for public viewing. Dr. Van Andel won a Nobel Peace prize for this.

The objective of the experiment?

Objective: To find out whether taking images of the male and female genitals during coitus is feasible and to find out whether former and current ideas about the anatomy during sexual intercourse and during female sexual arousal are based on assumptions or on facts.

Watch the video (NSFW on SOME PARTS but not too bad – besides, it’s a scientific experiment right?)

I tried to choose the least troubling photo I could get for the post.  You can Google the word “flesh eating bacteria” and you will find more photos that is worse than this one.

I was watching Oprah today. Yes, I called in sick today as I wasn’t feeling well. Guess what the topic was about? Flesh eating bacteria. Oh man!

I don’t want to make you all paranoid but I thought I’d share this with you because it’s very important. The bacteria is called MRSA (pronounced as Mersa) – short for Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus which is a type of Staph bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics.

The story was about a woman who was a chef. She was going about her day at work when she accidentally cut her right middle finger (paper-cut deep). She washed the wound with alcohol, put a band-aid on it and that was it.

Whitney Houston’s Exclusive Interview on Oprah’s Season Premiere

_46238422_007820976-1

The season premiere of Oprah won the exclusive interview with Whitney Houston. It is so huge that it is dubbed to be “the most anticipated music interview of the decade” – according to Oprah’s Website.

This is the only full-length interview that Whitney Houston has granted since the infamous interview she had with Diane Sawyer back in 2002. That’s where her famous line of “Crack is whack and Crack is cheap” came from.

We’re all probably thinking, this will be Whitney’s redeeming moment. This interview will or must erase her interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer back in 2002. She has got to get this right to make her “comeback” a success.

The queen of talk will interview Whitney Houston during her Oprah show premiere on Monday, September 14th.

Who would you vote for as the Hottest Summer Pinoy Hunk?

The end of the summer in the U.S. is near. We are approaching the Fall season and before we know it, we will be done with shorts and flip flops. It will be time to cover up once again – scarves and sweaters once again. No more biceps, triceps, exposed legs, chest and whatever else.

So, before the end of the summer, we’d like to put a poll on who you think is the Hottest Pinoy Hunk for the summer.   Better yet, do you have anyone in mind who isn’t on this list?

Let’s start a month-long poll to see who among these Hot Pinoy Hunks would rank the first.  We will announce the winner next month before Fall Season begins… :)   You will only be allowed one vote for the month.

Help me decide. ;)

Up to 50% of the US population could get Swine Flu – CDC

swine-flu

According to the report of the President’s Council on Science and Technology, Swine Flu may infect 50% of the total population of the United States and have predicted the possibility of up to 90,000 individuals could die which is more than twice the fatality rate due to the seasonal flu.

“It’s a plausible scenario that we need to be prepared for,” said Marty Cetron, the Center for Disease Control’s director of the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine

The report says that under a worst-case scenario, between 60 and 120 million Americans could get sick with the swine flu and another 30 million could contract the virus but not show symptoms.

The report says the skyrocketing infections will peak on Oct. 15 — the exact date a vaccine is expected to be delivered. The White House advisors suggest backing up the vaccine date by a full month — meaning a vaccine and dosage that is still being tested would be used.- Source

Amazing Danyl Johnson Video on X-Factor

danyl_johnson

I mean, he’s not bad! He’s good but I wouldn’t compare him to Susan Boyle just like every blogger I’ve seen out there. Come on. Danyl Johnson is a teacher and walking into an audition for X-Factor (Britain’s equivalent to American Idol) wearing cargo shorts, snickers, and a plain shirt doesn’t even compare to Susan Boyle’s life history.

I still think he’s good but I’ve seen people sing better. Watch and see…

Janina San Miguel clears rumor linking her to businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco

This is me and I have more confidence now,” hirit ni Janina. “May nagtanong nga sa akin if I feel any pressure right now? I answered, ‘Yes, I feel pressure right now but I have confidence!’

“I know that they find me funny, okey lang ‘yon. What can I do about it? Okey lang na matuwa sila kesa sa sungitan nila ako or isnabin nila ako. At least, they know that I am more confident right now.”

Quentin Tarantino’s Movie with Brad Pitt – “Basterds” take in $37.6M

Film Review Inglourious Basterds

Photo Credit: (AP Photo/The Weinstein Co., Francois Duhamel)

Brad Pitt was supposedly trash-talking Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie vs. his Inglorious Basterds movie of which both movies are sets in World War II – Nazi Germany. There were no confirmations made on who’s trash-talking who but accordingly, Brad Pitt seems to have won if we are looking for weekend box-office performance alone.

Michael Jackson’s Death Ruled as Homicide

michael-jackson-is-dead

CNN reports that according to toxicology reports, Michael Jackson’s death was ruled as a homicide. The Coroner (according to an anonymous law enforcement official) has concluded that Michael Jackson was administered a lethal dose of Diprivan (Propofol) to assist him in falling asleep from which the report was neither confirmed or denied by the Coroner’s Office when asked and said they had “no comment”.

However, the lawyer for Dr. Murray declined to comment on the “anonymous” report that the death has been ruled a homicide and insisted on waiting for the official Coroner’s report prior to commenting.

The report shows that Michael Jackson was administered a cocktail of anesthetic which included Ativan and Versed by his personal physician, Dr. Murray.

The DEA has been unable to find a record of Dr. Murray purchasing, ordering or obtaining any propofol under his medical license or DEA number, according to the documents.- Source

Chuva wants to rally behind the cause “Pens of HOPE”

img_0688

Hello folks! I am deeply moved by a blogpal’s call to action with the Pens of Hope program. I am getting ready to mail in my first set of pencils for the Program.  To start, I will mail a total of 8 packs of 24  no. 2 pencils for the children of Northern Samar.

It started as a small gesture from someone who believed that Pens or Pencils can change someone’s life.  Read the full story here.

The blogger, Nortehanon is not a stranger to me. I have actually met her in person. She is a sweet, petite and beautiful lady with a heart of gold. That is why her Pens of Hope program didn’t come as a surprise to me. From her experience as someone who was helped by others in order to finish her studies, she took this opportunity to pay the gesture forward.

It has become quite a success, being picked up by Pens of Hope in Davao which has now become a full-blown Outreach Program from the Batch 29 alumni SICO (Social Involvement Coordinating Office) of Ateneo de Davao.

Uhoh!! Sex toy thrown at Adam Lambert during his concert.

Watch about 2:15 secs where you see a sex toy being thrown at Adam Lambert. He kicks it back to the audience but there were still a few littering the stage.. hmmm. I wonder how he felt about that?

True Blood, Twilight, and now.. The Vampire’s Assistant.

vampireasstposter_v

I am one of the people who loves vampire stories. Here’s one with cool special effects and a neat story to back it up. The Vampire Assistant is due to come out this fall. John C Reiley stars. Chris Massoglia and Josh Hutcherson supports.

Synopsis:

Darren Shan is a regular teenage kid. He and his friend Steve find out about a Freak Show coming to town an work hard at trying to find tickets. They do, and together they go to “Cirque du Freak” where they see many strange acts including a wolf-man and a bearded lady. Steve and Darren think that it is all a joke until a vampire, Larten Crepsley comes on with a very poisonous spider that he makes do tricks. When Steve sees this man he freaks out a bit but won’t tell Darren why. After the show, Steve tells Darren to go home, and that he will follow later. Darren says yes but instead sneaks upstairs to see what Steve is up to. He sees Steve talking to Mr. Crepsley and overhears their conversation. Steve tells Mr. Crepsley that he knows that his real name is Vur Horston an is a Vampire and he tells Larten that he would like to join him and become an apprentice. Mr Crepsley says he must test Steve before he agrees, and when he does he reveals that Steve has “bad blood” and he will not transform him. Steve becomes angry but Darren leaves the theatre and doesn’t see what happen next.

Done with Cash for Clunkers, Come in Cash for Refrigerators!

2008_04_23-refrigerator

I thought this was a joke at first until I read the news this morning.  Cash for Refrigerators? It’s a $300 million dollar stimulus program designed to boost sales of energy-efficient appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines and so forth.

Starting this fall, rebates between $50 – $200 will be given for purchases of energy-efficient appliances (This is a good thing, since I need a new washer and dryer).  And.. there are no strict guidelines like the Cash for Clunkers program.  You can simply walk into a store and purchase an energy-efficient appliance.  I like it!

The MV Doña Paz was a Philippine-registered passenger ferry that sank after colliding with the MT Vector on 20 December 1987. With a death toll of at least 4,000 people, the collision resulted in the deadliest ferry disaster in history and is widely cited as the worst ever peace-time maritime disaster. – Wikipedia

100 percent Filipino

According to Laranas, Ormoc was his first choice on account of the issues involved—deforestation, global warming. “I thought it was a stronger story,” he says.

Although Ormoc and Doña Paz both made it to the final list, it was the latter that was approved for grants, along with 11 others. NGCI did not explain its choice.

Laranas spent part of the P10 million budget on high-definition equipment, prescribed for international broadcast quality.

The crew that he put together was “100 percent Filipino.” Even the special effects and computer graphics in the finished product “are proudly Philippine-made,” he says.

Quality necessarily included “highly intensive” research, says Laranas, who singles out for praise the project’s head researcher Bebot Villarama, who was also production manager. – Source

Willie Revillame proves that people do support him.

Willie Revillame realized that even after the online petition filed requesting his ouster from Wowowee,  he has a much more solid fan base that will support him no matter what.

According to PEP, Davao City’s Tionko Field Stadium was packed last night, August 23, 2009, as Willie brings his show Wowowillie on tour in and around the Philippines.   According the the the count —the Philippine National Police put the evening’s crowd at 120,000 – that’s a lot of people.

Although the show got drenched during the rain and had to close by 9:15 when the power went out, there were proof that even through all the rain that drenched the crowd who waited since 8:00 a.m. to see the show – Willie is their man.
PEP said:

After the crowd had dispersed, Kathy said their ABS-CBN crew saw an elderly woman soaking in the rain and gave her a lift in their van. The old woman said her name was Labiana Eredania and that she was 71 years old. She was protected from the rains only by a Wowowee jacket that Willie had distributed earlier among the older folk in the audience.

Aling Labiana had traveled by herself from Sandawa, Davao, without informing her children, who, she said, would surely have objected to her making the trip, at her age, to a crowded stadium far from home. Asked why she came even without company anyway, she told Kathy that she just had to see Willie. Again asked why, she answered that it was because Willie treated old people like her special. “Priority niya kaming matatanda,” Kathy quoted the old woman as saying.

PEP asked Willie via text message how he felt about the night:

“Paglabas ko sa stage bumuhos ang malakas na ulan di ako umalis sa stage at wala ring umuwi na tao. Kumakanta ako at ang lahat nagsasayawan. Naluha ako, di lang nahalata at nakita, dahil lumuluha ako kasabay ng ulan. I’m so blessed. Kikilabutan at maiiyak ka sa mga taong dumating. Lahat ng klase: mayaman, mahirap, bata, at matanda. Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanilang lahat…

“Nakahiga ako ngayon sa hotel. Naluluha pa rin ako, lalo akong tumitibay sa buhay pag nararamdaman ko ang pagmamahal ng mga tao. I’m so blessed. Sa sobrang mahal ako ng Panginoon gusto ko nang ituloy ang pagpunta sa buong bansa natin. Para yong di nakakapunta sa Wowowee ako na ang lalapit sa kanila. Lalo akong nainspire sa buhay dahil sa mga tao.” – Source

Congratulations Miss Universe 2009 – Miss Venezuela’s Stefanía Fernández

miss-universe-047

Congratulations to Miss Venezuela’ Stefanía Fernández (back-to-back-win) for winning the Miss Universe Title for 2009. It is a back-to-back win because Miss Universe 2008 was also from Venezuela.

I’m a little bitter that Miss Philippines didn’t even make it to the Top 15 but that’s okay. It’s the sport. You win some, you lose some.

Here’s what we had for our Miss Universe get-together at one of the Butse Gang’s home.

I must agree that we have come a long way in film making. The Philippines havve produced world class film productions that are sophisticated where use of current technology in film-making is visible.

I am specially proud because I love horror movies.  It’s very rare that I get hooked on a horror film.  It has to break through all my senses before I can consider it scary.  Hopefully this one won’t disappoint.

Starring Richard Guttierrez and Heart Evangelista, Patient X is coming soon.  Let’s wait and see!  The posters look amazing though…
