Kätlin is a native of Estonia, but at the age of 16, she took off and settled down in Finland. This was no mean feat, but she considers her move as her biggest achievement to date.It was in Finland that she truly learned the value of independence and appreciation of things. She does not want to miss out on life, standing by her motto to “Live one day at a time”. Kätlin takes this belief further, tending to splurge without setting some money aside. The primary culprit is her love for going on shopping sprees, which wipes out any hope for saving.
Shopping makes her lose track of time, but with other things, she is quite impatient. Her other pet peeves are those who have an inflated ego and who try too much to please others. She values sincerity and openness in others, and resents people who lie just to get people to like them. Kätlin gravitates towards those who, like her, are friendly and outgoing.
Yes, she is ready to take on the world, but her future plans remain quite grounded. She dreams of settling down with her ideal man, have a couple of children, and be financially secure. She describes her ideal guy as someone caring, romantic and understanding. He would also have to be funny, athletic, open and handsome.
This single gal works as a food processing worker in Finland, but chose to grab the opportunity to take part in the Big Brother experience. It didn’t take long for her to agree to the Big Swap, and she was quite enthusiastic in exploring yet another place. Though she admits to missing her loved ones and being active in the outside world, she looks forward to the new experience.
It is precisely this optimism that strengthens her in coping with difficult and unfamiliar situations. One of the biggest hurdles she had to overcome was the language barrier. She candidly shared some embarrassing experiences, such as calling the car shop to complain about her car not getting excited, when she actually meant that it would not accelerate. Despite setbacks, Kätlin strives to see the good side and finds reasons to smile, an asset for her as she heads off to yet another foreign country.
Kätlin has already left Big Brother Finland, and will soon be entering one of the PBB Houses. How will the other housemates relate to her? Will she be able to cope as well as she expected, or will she get a culture shock from her Pinoy housemates? Which housemate will be an ally, and who will be foe? The many tasks this week were focused on the Big Swap, pushing all housemates to see themselves as worthy ambassadors to a Big Brother house abroad. Not only did they have to practice being a team player on their sewing project, they had to develop themselves as individuals as well. From stressing over their English during individual interviews to going all out on promoting themselves on their “Ako-mmercials” and later on in a pageant, the housemates showed their enthusiasm in wanting to have that rare chance to go abroad. The list was trimmed down to 10 housemates, then to 5, and then to 3 finalists. These three finalists were Hermes, Cathy and Melai. Only one would have the much-coveted slot, though, and that lucky housemate was Cathy.
Korina Sanchez and Mar Roxas talk about their Japanese honeymoon and their future plans
Newlyweds Korina Sanchez and Senator Mar Roxas flew to Japan on October 28 for their five-day honeymoon. The couple had a grand wedding ceremony last October 27 that was attended by well-known personalities from politics, the entertainment industry, and business.
The senator has been keeping his followers updated about their trip via his Twitter account. He noted the efficiency of the Japanese airline crew who even gifted him and his bride with a small cake and about the fact that he needed to update his documents to reflect his newly married status.

Xian Lim speaks out about his absence from ‘Katorse’
Xian Lim has not been seen on Katorse for a few weeks now, raising speculations that he had been axed from the show. ABS-CBN.com caught up with Xian during the Star Magic concert rehearsal and he shed some light on the situation. “One month na rin akong hindi nagte-taping. I was just told by someone from the production team na aalisin muna ako, ‘yung character ko pupunta muna ng US to study. Later on nabasa ko na nga sa script na ganun ang mangyayari. I asked why but they told me it was part of the story. But they assured me naman na babalik ako.”
He admitted to ABS-CBN.com that he was sad about his leave from Katorse because he misses his friends from the show. “Of course I’m sad. It’s been a month na hindi ako nagte-taping, hindi ko nakikita ‘yung mga friends ko from the show. Nami-miss ko ‘yung work.” Xian further clarified that he doesn’t think he was made to take a break from the teleserye because he did something wrong. “Hindi ko naman iniisip na may masamang intention kung bakit ako pinagpahinga muna. I trust them naman nung sinabi nila na ganun talaga ang story and naniniwala naman akong ibabalik talaga nila ako. For me naman kung ano sa tingin ng management ‘yung makakabuti I will respect the decision.”

The teams, selected by judges and online voters, will explore the destination spots and engage in activities that they will later share online—through blogs, videos, photos—to the global audience. “Well, ang ratings ng Stairway To Heaven ay pataas nang pataas. Sobrang grateful kaming lahat,” masayang sabi ni Rhian. “Parang bawat araw, umaakyat, e. So, yun na nga, masayang-masaya kami.
“Maraming challenges ang nangyari, lalo na nung nag-start ang show namin. Pero ngayon, everything is okay na. Parang nagka-climb din daw sa stairway ang show. Yung trend ng show, parang stairway nga din. Sana umabot na ng heaven ang ratings namin!” tawa niya.
Matatandaang noong nagsisimula pa lang ang Stairway To Heaven, nasa 27-28 percent pa lang ang ratings nito sa Mega Manila (based on AGB Nielsen survey). Pero lately ay pumapalo na ang ratings nito sa 30-plus.
“Ang sinasabi ko nga, ang dami-daming challenges ang nangyari during the start of the show. Yung timing ng pagpasok namin, medyo may sablay, tapos yung bagyo pa, sobrang nakaapekto yun! And yun nga, ngayon, pataas na kami ng pataas… 34… gumagano’n.
“We’re very happy! Buti naman, buti naman… Kasi, napakaganda ng kuwento. So siyempre, as much as possible, gusto naming ipakita ang best namin para mapakita namin sa lahat kung gaano kaganda ang kuwento,” very proud na sabi ni Rhian.

Pinoy Dream Academy 2’s Billy Crawford and Entertainment Live’s Luis Manzano join forces to serve as hosts of the upcoming show Pilipinas Got Talent. Rayver Cruz is still grieving over his father’s passing
Rayver Cruz is still grieving over the death of his father, 75-year-old Rodolfo Ilustre who succumbed to complications of the kidney and lungs last October 19. Mr. Ilustre had been confined to the intensive care unit of the Parañaque Medical Center for almost two months before his passing. He was laid to rest last October 24.

We continue to make history and this one is close and very dear to my heart. I was still living in California at the time when Matthew Shepard, a young gay man – was cruelly beaten and left in the desert to die because he is gay. It was a very sad time for me.
Yesterday, President Barack Obama signed the Matthew and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. A historic day not only for gays but for all Americans.
The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act would expand the federal definition of hate crimes to include those motivated by gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability. It also will allow federal authorities to pursue hate-crimes cases when local authorities are either unable or unwilling to do so.
“We must stand against crimes that are meant not only to break bones, but to break spirits — not only to inflict harm, but to instill fear” … “Because no one in America should ever be afraid to walk down the street holding the hands of the person they love,”… “No one in America should be forced to look over their shoulder because of who they are or because they live with a disability.” – Pres. This is a day in history that I will never forget. I am so glad that I lived to see it happen.

Well mga ka-chika… it’s that time of year again. This is the time when Chuva Chienes transforms herself into one fabulous and beautiful maiden. Hahaha! I wish!
The Butse Gang has a yearly tradition. We go to the Henri David Halloween Ball in Philadelphia every year. This year will be different only because we used to buy our own dresses and get up for the occasion. But, not this time.
This time, our dresses will be made by a friend (pictured above) who recently completed Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines in Manila. Parang Project Runway baga… hahaha!

Robi Domingo is determined to stay in showbiz for a long time
After his last acting project in Your Song Presents Boystown, Robi Domingo will play the younger brother of Gerald Anderson in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. But while waiting for his next project, Robi keeps himself busy as a VJ for MYX music channel and as a mainstay of ASAP ‘09 every Sunday with the Star Magic dance group Gigger Boys. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, Robi said that he is not worried that he has no regular acting project at the moment. “Hindi naman ako masyadong worried sa ngayon na wala akong regular show. ABS-CBN bags the most number of Star Awards nominations
ABS-CBN got the most number of nominations from the Philippine Movie Press Club for this year’s Star Awards for Television. Five Kapamilya teleseryes are nominated in the Best Primetime Series category, namely Eva Fonda, Iisa Pa Lamang, Kahit Isang Saglit, May Bukas Pa, and Tayong Dalawa. Kahit Isang Saglit just recently bagged a Best Telenovela nomination from the International Emmy Awards, while Eva Fonda won as Best Drama at the Seoul International Drama Awards. Meanwhile in the Best Daytime Drama Series category, two episodes of Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers are nominated, namely Stupid Cupid starring Jake Cuenca and Cristine Reyes, and Pepper’s Roses starring Kaye Abad and Guji Lorenzana. The afternoon teleserye Pieta and Ligaw Na Bulaklak have also been nominated.
Angel Locsin clarifies rumored transfer to Viva
Isa sa tatlong matitinding sorpresa sa advance birthday celebration ni Boy Abunda sa The Buzz last Sunday, October 25, ang live guesting ni Angel Locsin sa show. Sa October 29 pa ang birthday ng King of Talk pero nagsilbing maagang regalo ang muling pagharap ni Angel kay Boy para sa isang madibdibang interview.

Mabilis namang pinasalamatan ni Boy si Angel at sinabi pang malaking bagay para sa kanya ang pagpunta ni Angel nang hapon na iyon sa The Buzz.
SHOP AND SHARE. Sinimulan ni Boy ang interview kay Angel sa pagkumusta sa inilunsad na proyekto ng aktres na Shop and Share, kung saan nangalap sina Angel ng mga gamit ng mga celebrities na ipinapa-auction. Ang perang mula sa nabiling mga items ay ibibigay sa mga biktima ng nagdaang bagyong Ondoy at Pepeng.
Boy: Kumusta naman, how is it doing, yung Shop and Share?
Angel: Sobrang nakakatuwa na… kasi yung iba nagrereklamo na ang mahal daw nung bidding. Pero yung binigay kasi naming starting price sobrang baba, as in nasa one-fourth lang yata nung original price. Pero dahil ang mga tao, sa kagustuhang tumulong kahit na lumalampas na siya dun sa original price niya, dun sa brand new price niya, basta makatulong, bid lang nang bid.
Boy: As of now ba, Angel nakamagkano na kayo?
Angel: Natapos na po natin yung first batch natin sa Shop and Share, meron tayong pina-bid na pitong items. Ngayon nag-e-expect po kami na makakakuha kami ng… kasi nabili na po, e, mga nasa twelve thousand dollars na po. ‘Tapos ngayon po magre-release kami… kasi yung iba ang akala puro mga mamahaling gamit lang. Pero kasi, sa amin kasi, mas gusto namin yung, ‘Eto, espesyal na gamit namin. Ibibigay namin para lang makatulong.’
Nilinaw rin ni Boy na wala sa presyo kung gaano kamahal ang items na ipinagbibili kundi kung gaano kahalaga ang mga ito sa mga artistang nagmamay-ari ng mga gamit. Agad naman itong sinang-ayunan ni Angel.
Boy: Angel, tanong ng bayan, you’ve been doing a lot quietly, consistently mula noong… bago pa nga mag-Ondoy e, you’ve been doing a lot of things for this country, for the community. Ang tanong, why are you doing this?
Angel: Why? Actually, Tito, sa akin kasi parang, bakit hindi, e, obligasyon natin bilang Pilipino na tumulong sa kapwa natin Pilipino, di ba? I mean, siyempre, kung ako yung nakalagay dun sa ganung sitwasyon, nag-e-expect din ako na meron akong kamay na mahahawakan. Ganun lang, parang kung ano lang yung kaya kong ibigay sa kapwa ko. Ang mga taong ito, sila ang naglagay sa akin kung nasaan ako ngayon, bakit hindi ko kayang suklian?
ALMOST SHIFTED CAREER. Isang malaking rebelasyon naman ang sumunod na pahayag ni Angel.
Boy: Angel, itong karanasan mo, itong pagtulong ninyo… I like it when you said kayo kasi instrumento ka lamang at ang ating mga kasamahan dito sa industriya. Pero ang tunay na tumutulong, kasama kayo, kasama tayo ay ang taong bayan, hindi ba? Pero itong karanasan mo sa Ondoy at saka sa Pepeng, what is life-changing? Somebody told me na parang nagbago ang iyong pananaw sa buhay?
Angel: Muntikan na akong mag-shift ng career, e. Kung ako lang po yung masusunod, ha, gusto kong mas makatulong pa. Kaya lang, siyempre, kailangan ko ring magtrabaho, kailangan ko ring kumita, para makatulong. Mahal ko rin naman itong ginagawa ko. Nag-e-enjoy rin ako. Pero parang muntikan na akong… ano kaya kung gawin ko ito every day. Kasi hindi lang ito yung problem. Hindi lang porke’t dumating si Ondoy at si Pepeng, nagkaroon tayo ng problema. Kahit noon marami na tayong problema.
NOT TRANSFERRING TO VIVA. Sumunod na nilinaw ni Angel ang intrigang lilipat na siya ng Viva from Star Cinema. Diumano’y nakipag-meeting na raw siya sa excutives ng Viva.
Boy: Pero habang ginagawa mo ang lahat ng magagandang bagay dito sa iyong buhay at para sa kapwa nating Pilipino na nagangailangan ng tulong ay hindi ka pa rin tinitigilan sa mga intriga. Ang pinaka-latest, ikaw raw ay lilipat ng Viva at naghiwalay na naman daw kayo ng iyong manager na si Becky Aguila, na nandito ngayon sa studio. Iiwan mo na raw ang Star Cinema. Once and for all, sagutin mo ‘yan.
Angel: Akala ko noong una, parang joke. Pinagtatawanan ko pa nga siya kasi ang tagal ko na kasing hindi nagtatrabaho, di ba? Sinabi niya [Becky] sa akin, ‘tapos natawa lang ako. ‘Tapos nabasa ko na nga sa diyaryo. Hindi naman natin siguro masisisi yung taong nagsulat noon kasi ang tagal na niya akong hindi nakikita sa TV.
Pero, hindi po, wala pong katotohanan yun. Naging friends lang po kami sa Facebook ni Ma’am Veronique [del Rosario, Viva Films executive]. Pero wala naman pong ganun. At saka kagagaling ko lang po sa isang matinding transfer. Parang wala po akong plano na pagdaanan ulit yung mga pinagdaanan ko noon.
Boy: Ang iyong proyekto with Aga Muhlach, kumusta naman?
Angel: Hindi po, kasi… pero sabi po ng Star Cinema, ‘eto pong November, baka matuloy… or next year. Gusto ko po kasing makatrabaho si Kuya Aga po.
OPEN TO DO A REGAL FILMS MOVIE. Alam na ng lahat ngayon na si Heart Evagelista ang magiging anak ni Sharon Cuneta sa Mano Po 6, under Regal Entertaiment. Una ngang kumalat noon na gusto ni Sharon ay si Angel ang gaganap bilang anak niya. Pero hindi nga natanggap ni Angel ang movie dahil na rin sa exclusive contract niya sa Star Ciema.
Boy: Wala bang panghihinayang kahit konti?
Angel: Siyempre meron. Hindi naman ako magpapaka-plastic, kasi meron, e. Alam naman ng lahat na siya talaga ang gusto kong makatrabaho personally, si Ms. Sharon, gustung-gusto ko siyang makatrabaho.
At saka pinakiusapan ko talaga si Tita Malou [Santos , Star Cinema executive] at ang Star Cinema. Pumayag naman siya na maayos na yung lahat sa amin ni Mother [Lily Monteverde]. Kahit na anong gawin n’yo, Regal baby pa rin talaga ako. At gusto ko lang sanang maayos yun na, sige, gagawa ako ng pelikula, kahit nga libre.
Kaya lang siguro… bubusina lang ako kay Heart, ha, wala akong… I’m happy for her, pero siyempre parang mas may bagay dun sa role, ganyan. Mas napili lang siguro nila Mother. Pero anytime naman bukas lang din po ang pinto ko. Sana lang huwag magsarado yung pinto n’yo.
Boy: Puso mo, kumusta naman ang lagay?
Angel: Okay naman siya. Hello. [sabay tingin sa kanyang dibdib.]
Boy: Daddy mo, kumusta?
Angel: Okey naman si Daddy. Ayun, nandun pa rin, nagba-bike sa bahay. Sobrang healthy pa rin siya. Binabantayan niya yung savings ko ngayon. Si Daddy, nakakatuwa kasi pinaplano niya lahat, yung investments ko, ganun. Para in the future kung hindi man ako magtagumpay dito sa ginagawa ko, meron akong mapaghuhugutan.
ANGEL SURPRISES BOY. Akala ng lahat ay tapos na ang interview pero may biglang ipinakiusap si Angel kay Boy.
Angel: Tito Boy, puwede bang humirit. Kasi parang lagi lang ikaw yung may tanong. Puwede bang ako naman ang magtanong sa iyo?
Boy: Teka muna, ha. Sorpresa ito.
Angel: Hindi naman kita papaiyakin. Pero okey lang, Tito Boy, feel free lang. Kasi di ba parang lahat, wala akong maisip na hindi pa dumaan sa iyo Tito Boy, di ba? Parang lahat nakaharap mo na at naitanong mo na halos lahat. Pero ano po kaya kung mag-isa ka lang, nakatingin ka sa ‘Salamin,’ tahimik ang lahat, nakatingin ka sa malayo, ano kaya yung isang tanong na tinatanong mo sa sarili mo, Tito Boy?
Boy: Wow… may mga panahon kasi, Angel, na kahit gaano ka kalakas, kahit gaano ka katapang, may mga bagay na hindi mo kaya. So, may mga bagay na hindi ka sigurado. May mga bagay na kahit anong gawin mo, hindi ka puwedeng lumaban.
Ako pag mag-isa na lang ako, dalawang bagay. Una, parang when you’re so blessed, I ask God na parang hanggang kailan ba ito? Pero you always say, I must have done something good in my life, to deserve all the blessings. Pangalawa, ay walang iyakan, ha. But no, I always ask God. I always say, hindi tanong, sinasabi ko sa Diyos na sana’y pahabain pa ng konti ang buhay ng Nanay [Lesing].
Angel: Bago ko tanungin ang birthday wish, sobrang na-touch naman ako doon.
Boy: Alam mo, I stop wishing for myself. Dahil wala na akong mahihiling pa, di ba? Parang basta masaya lang at malusog ang aking ina, at sana’y masaya at malusog ang lahat ng nanay sa Pilipinas, at sa buong mundo. Dahil pag masaya at malusog ang nanay ko, parang masaya at malusog na rin ako. That’s a wish.
Pangalawa, kapayapaan ng loob, katahimikan, dahil sobra nang maingay minsan ang ating mga mundo. Pagmamahal. And I want to be a better person, I still want to be a better person and a lot of things. I want to be better to the people. I want to be forgiving. I want people to forgive me. Sana ako’y mapatawad din ng maraming tao na minsan ako’y nagkamali.
At sana’y mapatawad tayo ng ating kalikasan na matanggal na nating binabastos. Kaya tayo’y pinarurusahan. Yun lang yung mga bagay na sumasagi sa aking isipan. I realize na ang mga wishes ko para na sa mga tao mahalaga sa akin, mahal ko. Nanay, mga kaibigan, Pilipinas, this is a time in our lives I think when we have to love this country. Mag-isa lang yan, e.
Angel: Tito Boy, sobrang nakikita ko kung bakit maraming taong nagmamahal sa iyo kasi karapat-dapat ka naman talaga. Ako, Tito Boy, yung mga pinagdanan ko noon sa mga tao, hindi ko mapagdadaanan yun ng maayos kung hindi ikaw yung nasa tabi ko noon. Maraming salamat talaga. Pero yun talaga ang mensahe.
Boy: Di ba, this is the only country we have, the only life we have..? And it is our responsibility para maalagaan ito. Kaya sana malusog tayong lahat, lahat ng mga nanay at tatay na nagmamasid sa ating pag-uusap ngayon.
