Korina Sanchez and Mar Roxas talk about their Japanese honeymoon and their future plans
Newlyweds Korina Sanchez and Senator Mar Roxas flew to Japan on October 28 for their five-day honeymoon. The couple had a grand wedding ceremony last October 27 that was attended by well-known personalities from politics, the entertainment industry, and business.
The senator has been keeping his followers updated about their trip via his Twitter account. He noted the efficiency of the Japanese airline crew who even gifted him and his bride with a small cake and about the fact that he needed to update his documents to reflect his newly married status.
The couple ate at the Hakata Ipudo ramen house—a traditional eatery—in the Ebisu area before heading to their hotel. The next day, the couple had lunch at the 130-year-old family run Yabu Soba resto where they took in some of the local ambiance. They spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying coffee at a sidewalk café.
Korina even sent out a tweet about how happy she was. “This is K. I love Japan! I can’t believe it. He’s my husband!!! We’re walking holding hands na bahala na kung saan kami mapadpad.” The veteran newscaster even shared her experience trying out Pachinko, a Japanese game using ball bearings to drop into different slots, which she said was fun even if she couldn’t fully understand it.
The couple also plan to visit Mt. Fuji, one of the places Korina has not visited yet. The couple also revealed that the Japan trip is just the first part of their honeymoon, and that they plan on taking a longer trip in December.
“Ang plano talaga namin medyo mas malayong lugar. Sabi niya five days lang. Sabi ko, ‘Teka muna madaya ka na masyado, pinamigay na natin yung reception natin, meron kang utang sa akin na honeymoon.’ Although sabi ko ipagpaliban na lang muna ‘yung honeymoon kasi marami siyang trabahong naghihintay, eh naawa siya sa akin sabi nya sa December na lang ‘yon, para may mapuntahan tayo ngayon na mas maikli kaya sa Japan (na lang),” Korina admitted.
When they are asked if they’re planning to have a baby soon, Korina said, “Pine-pressure niyo na naman ako, eh.” Mar joked, “Siyempre magho-honeymoon nga kami ‘di ba? We’ll see. Basketball team, kumpleto.”
