The daughter of ex-Presidential Candidate John McCain, Meghan McCain (@McCainBlogette) twitted a pic that immediately sent firestorms of comments and made its round all over the net. She’s got almost three thousand followers on Twitter.

Afterwards, she did apologize saying: “I do want to apologize to anyone that was offended by my twitpic, I have clearly made a huge mistake and am sorry 2 those that are offended”.
I’m telling you – this Twitter thing is so real-time that you really have to think of what you’re going to say or do before you say or do it.

Who would have thought that such a sweet girl like Leona Lewis would be punched in the face by anyone? I didn’t! Apparently, some crazed dude went in line for 5 hours just to slap Leona Lewis during her book-signing at a bookshop. According to reports, she didn’t need treatment after she was taken by her record company to a nearby hospital for check-up.
Imagine the surprise! Leona Lewis was at a book-signing of her autobiography, Dreams when this man went up to her and slapped her. The man was taken into custody.
“Leona was utterly shocked and appalled as it came out of nowhere. The man queued up patiently, then as soon as she signed his book he smashed her in the face. He didn’t say anything to her and she is at a loss as to why anyone would do such an evil thing. She is devastated as she comes from quite a humble background and loves meeting her fans. She was doing a three-hour signing and planned to sign hundreds of books. She’s been taken to a Harley Street doctor by her record label as she needs to be fixed up as it was quite a punch and she’s very dainty.”

Angel Locsin spearheads an online charity auction for the typhoon victims
JAside from participating in various relief operations, Angel Locsin has found another way to help the victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. With the help of Dimples Romana, Anne Curtis, and Kris Aquino, she is currently organizing an online auction to raise more funds for the rehabilitation program of Red Cross. “Anything that’s important to them na gusto nilang ishare, it will be up for auction. Tapos 100% of the proceeds will go to the people who were affected by the typhoons,” Dimples said in an interview with Showbiz News Ngayon. “Hindi naman kailangang bags lang. Pwedeng old accessories, jewelry or memorabilia na gusto ninyong idonate. So nag-isip kami ng celebrities na pwedeng lapitan,” Anne added.

Gerald Anderson was one of the Star Magic artists who walked the ramp in the Magic for a Cause fashion show last October 11 for the benefit of the victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, Gerald shared how happy he was to be a part of the charity show. “It feels good because it gives us an opportunity para makatulong pa sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo. Kahit nga nakatulong na ako noon, hindi tayo dapat tumigil sa pagtulong dahil marami pa rin ang naghihirap ngayon after the calamity.” Gerald wore a creation by renowned designer Inno Sotto who also made the suit that the young actor wore in last August’s Star Magic Ball.

Bea Alonzo is excited about her reunion movie with John Lloyd Cruz
Bea Alonzo revealed that she and John Lloyd Cruz will start shooting their reunion movie, scheduled to hit theaters in the first quarter of 2010, by November. The actress said that she is always excited to do a movie with Lloydy because she learns new things on how to improve her craft. “Gusto ko na siyang makatrabaho. Gusto ko nang may matutunan sa kanya and I’m sure andami kong matututunan sa kanya,” said Bea. “Andami naming pag-uusapan at andami naming pagkukuwentuhan, so I’m really excited.” Bea added that they will be holding the story conference with Star Cinema management on October 20, Tuesday.
Having done a love scene with Sam Milby in the film And I Love You So last August, Bea said that she does not mind doing intimate scenes with John Lloyd if her role calls for it. “Pero kung hindi naman [kailangan] at kung madadala din naman ng story, [okay lang kahit hindi],” Bea said.
Bea also explained that she is not worried that the growing numbers of Sam-Bea fans may clash with John Lloyd-Bea fans. “I think meron silang sari-sariling opinyon and gaya ng sinasabi ko, we have intelligent fans na sumusuporta because they have real faith sa mga ginagawa namin sa pelikula man o TV. I think they’re smart enough na hindi pumili kasi meron kaming sari-sariling identities,” she said.
Bea admitted that the success of And I Love You So means a lot to her because it proved that she can be teamed-up with other leading men aside from Lloydy. “Natuwa ako kasi parang sinuportahan ako ng mga nagmamahal sa akin at mas una pa dun, na-appreciate nila ‘yung pinaghirapan namin kasi feeling ko binigay ko lahat sa pelikula eh, kaming lahat [binigay naming lahat},” she admitted. John Lloyd has also had box-office success being teamed-up with another leading lady, namely Sarah Geronimo.
Bea also revealed that she feels vindicated because even if And I Love you So was shown in less theaters, it still turned out to be one of the year’s top-grossing movies. “’Yung pinakaimportante sa akin, feeling ko is we proved our point. So more than the box office, ‘yung point na na-prove namin that people still supported our movie and they appreciated it.”

A slightly feverish Jericho Rosales still managed to arrive at the press launch of his newest album Change under Star Records. According to Jericho, he picked the album title from one of his songs, “Cool Change,” which he likens to the ups and downs of his life. “Maraming changes kasi ‘yung nangyari sa akin sa nakaraang dalawang taon, change of music style, changed my label, now I’m with Star. There’s just a lot of changes that happened particularly sa sarili ko… Sabi nila kasi dito sa ‘tin ngayon, mahal na mahal natin ‘yung pag-revive ng songs so I was really thinking of one song to revive. Nung I was in the shower, I heard this song, ‘Cool Change’ and I said, ‘Oh, it’s about time.’ I listened to the lyrics parang na-realize ko, ‘if there’s one thing in my life that’s missing, it’s the time that I spent alone,’ ‘di ba? Spending time alone is not easy [so I said,] ‘Okay, this is the time I’m going to put all my energy to music, all my energy to acting, all the ideas na pumapasok sa isip ko.”

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN.com, Kenny and Toffi shared that they had a great time with the task given to them by Big Brother where they had to occasionally trade places in the two houses and pretend that they were just one person. “Unforgettable experience talaga ‘yung experience na nagtatago kami. Kinatay wins Best Director, Best Original Soundtrack in Spanish filmfest
Brillante Mendoza’s Kinatay once again earned for him a Best Director award in the 42nd Sitges International Film Festival held recently in Spain. The honor comes on the heels of his Best Director plum at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The movie, which has the international title The Execution of P, also won the Best Original Soundtrack for Teresa Barrozo.
Kinatay is about a criminology student (Coco Martin) who becomes a witness to the brutal rape and murder of a prostitute (Maria Isabel Lopez).

Tasered 72-Year Old Woman gets $40,000 in settlement

You may remember this video last summer where a divided opinion rose about Kathryn Winkfein, a 72-year old woman in Austin, TX who was stopped by a deputy constable when she was caught speeding, running at 60 mph on a 45 mph construction zone. The woman appeared very uncooperative and allegedly resisting arrest and daring the officer to tase her. She was definitely going against the officer’s orders while the officer was trying to calm her down and shoved her twice to avoid oncoming traffic from the road. She kept saying that she’s going back to her car even though the officer ordered her not to and warned her twice that he was going to use the taser on her if she did.
Well, she continued on until the officer was forced to use the taser gun on her (twice), handcuffed her and took her to jail.
Apparently, the county has awarded her a settlement of $40,000 USD because of the incident. The county’s reason? If they fought her lawsuit, they would spend more than just the $40,000 settlement.
Hmm… that doesn’t sound right to me. Is the sweet 72-year old woman who stands at 4’11″ setting a precedence that you can be awarded for doing something against the law?

Paul Anka wrote the song, “This is It” by Michael Jackson

A song written by Paul Anka in 1991 for Safire entitled, “This is It” is exactly the same song that was released by Michael Jackson’s recording company. As soon as Paul Anka heard the song, he immediately contacted the record company who released the single.
The record company had no ill-will in the matter and have agreed to give Paul Anka 50% of all proceeds from the sale.
“They realized it’s a mistake. They realized it’s my song, they realized it’s my production of his vocal in my studio, and I’m getting 50 percent, actually, of the whole project, which is fair.”
You could surely tell that it is the same exact song – - listen to Saffire’s version of the song. Slightly a different beat but the lyrics are all the same.
Kim Chiu insists that Gerald Anderson is not yet her boyfriend
Kim Chiu was one of the stars who took part in the very successful Magic For A Cause, the Star Magic charity fashion show at the ABS-CBN compound last October 11. In between costume changes, ABS-CBN.com got the chance to talk to Kim who wore a Bench ensemble by Noel Manapat and then an Inno Sotto gown for her final walk. “Masaya ako dahil at least makakatulong ako sa mga nasalanta ng bagyo. Excited din ako dahil minsan lang ako nakakasama sa mga fashion show na tulad nito kasi nga lagi akong busy sa soap,” she began.

‘Magic for A Cause’ garners P3.4M after a night of fashion glitz and glamour
The Magic for A Cause was a huge success even with only a week to organize a full scale fashion show featuring the best and brightest Star Magic artists clad in various designer labels. First on the runway were the endorsers of Bench Pinoy Lab which includes Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca, Shaina Magdayao, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo and the youngest ramp model Zaijan Jaranilla. Leaving no doubt to the audience as to who are the hottest celebrities to date. Pokwang was also a crowd favorite because everyone was expecting her to do a comic stunt while being escorted by the dashing Giggerboys. But she seriously strut her stuff instead and looked like a professional model in a classy gender-bender suit.

Pinoy Big Brother Double Up introduces ten new housemates
Ten new housemates were introduced last night, October 10, on Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, adding more members to the current roster of ten housemates inside the two houses.
This time, the second batch of housemates was welcomed via a special episode titled “The Spooktacular Reveal,” featuring a Halloween-inspired theme. The stage was made to look like a Horror House and there were backup dancers wearing spooky costumes.
The ten new housemates were each introduced through a revolving door that led center-stage where PBB hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzales and Toni Gonzaga conducted short interviews. All housemates were garbed in “spooktacular” costumes befitting the Halloween theme. They were:

Paranormal Activity breaks box-office record.
Although “Couple’s Retreat” dominated the box-office battle this weekend with $35.3 million – I am still more amazed about the success of “Parnormal Activity”. This seems to be the new “Blair Witch Project”. The movie, although screened at only 159 theaters grossed a whopping $7.1 million which means it that it earned $44,654 per theater. The movie made it to the number five spot which excited the studio and have now planned on its national release next weekend.
