It seems that Tom Rodriguez’s determination to make it in showbiz has affected his blossoming romance with fellow Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemate Princess Manzon. Viewers witnessed their emotional parting as well as their happy reunion, which lead everyone to think that they would really end up with each other. But when asked about the real status of their relationship, Tom claimed that he’s taking his time getting to know Princess first. “We’re great. We’re good friends. We’re getting to spend a lot of time together. There's no label, no preconceived notions, we're just enjoying lang talaga. I know it sounds showbiz pero yun ang totoo. We're really enjoying each other's company. There's nothing wrong with that,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN.com after their live Kapamilya Chat last December 15.

In the second part of the 2009 ABS-CBN Christmas Special, the Kanto Boys—John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano, Vhong Navarro, and Billy Crawford—do their own version of Lady Gaga’s dance moves to the beat of “Bad Romance,” “Pokerface,” and “Just Dance.” The four were so into their performance that John Lloyd didn’t even let on that he had hurt his elbow in a stunt with Vhong until after their hilarious production number. The four also introduced Comedy King Dolphy who gave an inspiring Christmas message to everyone.

Comelec trims down list of presidential candidates

Last Tuesday, December 15, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) released the names of candidates permitted to run for president next year: former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, senators Manuel “Manny” Villar, Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III, Richard Gordon, and Jamby Madrigal, former Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro, Olongapo City councilor JC delos Reyes, and religious leader Eddie Villanueva.
The filing period for political candidates ended last December 1. A total of 99 individuals filed certificates of candidacy for the highest office in the land.
But, according to Comelec Commissioner Jose Melo, several people did not make the list because they seem to lack one important requirement: the resources and political machinery to launch a national campaign.

Lola wins Best Film in the 6th Dubai International Film Festival
Brillante “Dante” Mendoza’s Lola won the Best Film in the Muhr Asia Africa section of the 6th Dubai International Film Festival held last Wednesday evening (December 17). The festival was held from December 9-16 and screened 168 films, including 29 world premieres.
Lola tells the tale of two grandmothers, portrayed by Anita Linda and Rustica Carpio, who are living in the depressed area of Malabon. Their houses are perennially submerged in water and they use boats to travel from one house to another.

People.com reports Kultilda Woods, Tiger’s mom is “furious” with her son’s philandering ways.
“[She] is hurt, angry and disappointed in Tiger. She wants to know how he could do this to his family.”
“It was devastating to her, she likes Elin, and adores her grandchildren. She’s worried about them. She doesn’t want to see them hurt.”
Kultilda “loves [Tiger] and will support him through anything,” the friend told People.com, “but she needs some time to work through this.”

4-year old kid, drunk, cross-dresses and steals Christmas presents
Have you ever heard of the most ridiculous story ever? This one is true! First thing I want to ask is, “Who’s yo’ daddy?!”
It happened in Tennessee. Hayden Wright, a 4-year old kid got drunk, dressed up in women’s clothing, went to the neighbors and stole their Christmas presents and partied like a rock star!
He’s got some good stories to tell when he gets older. A Christmas story at that.

Remember when star swimmer Michael Phelps was ostracized for being caught sucking a bong? And he is just getting established as a star athlete, breaking all kinds of records and winning numerous gold medals when he went through the ordeal.
Tiger Woods is an accomplished athlete poised to earn a billion dollars a year by early next year when the scandal broke about his infidelity… and this is why I say, I can’t judge Tiger Woods. What d’ay tell y’all? Jersey Shore is latest pop culture
I mean, I have loved MTV’s Real World even from the very first time it aired. It’s a “voyeuristic” kind of high, watching people live their lives (and a lot of hyped-up drama to go with it) so that I could probably say that my life ain’t all that bad.
The latest MTV contribution to this “voyeuristic desire” is “Jersey Shore”. It’s really the trashiest reality TV show and people are actually watching it! They are glued to their television sets every time a new episode is aired. Mike “The Situation”, Pauly D, Snookie, and JWoow… can you just imagine? With those nicknames alone, what could be more entertaining?
I guess being from Jersey myself, I can laugh at it more. It’s the magnification of the stereo type… and funny as hell!

Hey, hot and ripped Italian guys? I’m there! Still no competition with my Brazilian guys but hey, it’s the Jersey Shore.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is growing on me. Pauly D is hot! Snooki – - hmmm (did you see her on the Trivia Game with Jay Leno?) – but she’s a character and I am just hooked on this show. And Vinny is just hilarious. I don’t usually watch TV but MTV’s got me hooked.

MMFF 2009 Movies I would like to see…
It’s here.. the Metro Manila Film Festival 2009. I love films — I love Mega Star Sharon Cuneta. So if you are going to ask me which movie I would like to see first, I would say Regal’s “Mano Po 6“. Then, I would like to see “I Love You, Goodbye” by Star Cinema. Angelica Panganiban is all grown up and ready to prove that she’s a qualified actress.

Ha-ha! This one got me. I never knew blind items get so much attention these days and for one, I don’t usually guess it right when reading a blind item entry. This one however has gotten my attention.
I always knew this B list Golden Globe nominee/winner television actor was self conscious about his hair. But, what I didn’t know is that although he has a few plugs, he covers 95% of his extremely bald head with four different very expensive toupees. He tells his many one night stands not to touch his head and he has four models in his bedroom where he keeps them when not wearing them. – Source
The majority of the guess? You would have probably guessed and if you look at his photos online (Google Images is so great!), you will know that he really does have a bald spot and that his hair is thinning in the front. It’s True: Elin Nordegren is seeking a divorce from Tiger Woods

What would you expect from a woman who has been humiliated X number of times. If Elin Nordegren is not a woman of class, she would have been blabbing her mouth about the whole affair and saying all sorts of evil things about Tiger. But I haven’t heard her speak just yet. Either she’s doing everything quietly or she’s trying to work things out with Tiger.
But, that’s not according to the news. According to Los Angeles Times, Elin is seeking a divorce. Can you blame her?
One thing that this scandal did good for websites is the increase in web traffic.
“Tiger Woods” has been the fastest-rising search term in the past 30 days, according to a Google spokeswoman, after Woods was in a car crash in late November that eventually led to him confessing to cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren.
“He has realized a 5,000 per cent increase compared to the previous month,” the spokeswoman said.

John Lloyd Cruz reportedly denied entry to Japan
John Lloyd Cruz was reportedly denied entry into Japan last Saturday, December 12 for allegedly giving false information about his trip in the country.
Based on a report by Otto Osorio in Abante today, December 15, the Japanese Immigration officers at the Narita International Airport in Japan denied entry to the actor and his companion, identified as Ms. Montalbo, who was believed to be his road manager. John Lloyd and Ms. Montalbo reportedly went to Japan on a tourist visa.
Celebrity alumni of UST will kick off 400th anniversary celebration during Paskuhan
Thomasians gear up for the much-anticipated milestone in the existence of their beloved institution. Beginning this Friday, December 18, the University of Santo Tomas will be on its way to “400 years of Unending Grace.”
The kick-off event, to be hosted by UST alumni Kim Atienza and Miriam Quiambao, will coincide with the traditional UST Paskuhan that will be held at the UST field. JC Cuadrado will also serve as segment host while Rachel Lobangco is expected to perform a fire dance.
Around 40,000 people are expected to light candles at the university’s football field this Friday, December 18, to symbolize the star and the light of Christmas.
