I mean, I agree with Simon Cowell and Posh on this – - the guy is lovable – just very real and has lots of positive energy. Did you see this one? Amadeo Diricco – a true-blooded Italian, with a little hint of Sopranos. If he doesn’t win as American Idol, this guy could be cast in any Italian Mafia movie.
What surprised me was his voice. I didn’t expect that from him. His character is simply adorable. He’s like this big teddy bear you’d like to hug at night. Tell me if you agree.

GMA-7 offers two new star-studded afternoon soaps
Magkasunod na magpa-pilot ang dalawang bagong Sine Novela ng GMA-7 sa kanilang Dramarama Sa Hapon block. Ito ay ang Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak, na papalit sa Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit, at Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?, na papalit naman sa Tinik Sa Dibdib.
Parehong TV remake ang dalawang bagong afternoon soaps na ito ng Kapuso network.
Ang Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak ay remake ng 1990 film ni Lino Brocka, na pinagbidahan nina Dina Bonnevie, Christopher de Leon, Charo Santos-Concio, Eddie Garcia, Allan Paule, and the late Francis Magalona.

Star Cinema reveals box-office gross of their 2009 films
The films of Star Cinema for 2009 earned a total of P1.135 billion, based on figures provided by ABS-CBN’s film production outfit. PEP met with the Star Cinema executives of Star Cinema—namely Star AdProm director Roxy Liquigan and Star Cinema & TV Synergy Specialist Mico del Rosario—earlier today, January 15, at the ABS-CBN compound to discuss how their films did last year.
You Changed My Life, the Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz-starrer, was once again a Valentine hit with its gross of P208.8 million. Star Cinema has promised that the love story of Laida Magtalas and Miggy Montenegro will continue, still with Cathy Garcia-Molina at the helm, but they have no definite date yet for its release.

Pokwang denies report that Wowowee will be reformatted
May balitang lumabas na magre-reformat diumano ang noontime variety show ng ABS-CBN na Wowowee, hosted by Willie Revillame. At sa pagbabagong-bihis daw nito ay magbabawas din diumano ng co-hosts.
Nakausap ang comedienne na si Pokwang kagabi, January 14, sa taping ng gag show na Banana Split. Since isa si Pokwang sa co-hosts ng Wowowee ay tinanong namin siya tungkol sa kumakalat na balita.

He’s candidate number one for me! He is a church singer or as he calls himself a “church boy” (he makes money from it) to help take care of his sick mother and has taken care of her since he was 17. He was a finalist on BET’s Sunday Best last season.
Just listen to him sing… I was amazed.

According to US Weekly, Tiger Woods couldn’t really check into a hotel right after the alleged fight with his wife, Elin because of all the media frenzy. According to reports, he slept at his billionaire friend, “Mark O’ Meara’s empty villa and stayed there“, according to one of Tiger’s neighbors.

Liezl Martinez recently broke her silence in an exclusive interview on Showbiz News Ngayon (SNN) where she talked with host Kris Aquino about her yearlong battle against breast cancer. Liezl said that as of her last check up, most of the cancer cells have disappeared, but there is still the big possibility for the cancer to return. ABS-CBN.com interviewed Liezl’s husband Albert Martinez on the set of Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, his teleserye with Kris Aquino, who said that his wife is getting better so far. “May battle pa rin si Liezl but so far everything is looking good. Based on the last test negative lahat and we thank God for that. Still, we would ensure that she will have her regular check-up just to make sure na walang nang maliliit na cancer cells that will cause discomfort anytime. But as we speak, everything is clean.”

MTRCB suspends Showtime for 20 days for statement of Rosanna Roces against teachers – Watch the VIDEO
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has imposed a 20-day preventive suspension on ABS-CBN’s daily variety program Showtime. This resulted after the “uncalled for” statements made by judge Rosanna Roces against teachers on the show’s January 7 live episode.
In the said incident, after the performance of a group from Calamba, Laguna, Roces asked one of the contestants about the name of national hero Jose Rizal, who hails from Calamba. The actress asked the contestant how come Rizal’s full name is Jose Protacio Rizal when his father’s name is Francisco Mercado and his mother’s name is Teodora Alonzo.

Sid Lucero is grateful because right after his portrayal of Red Ramirez in Dahil May Isang Ikaw, he’s immediately given another TV project, an afternoon soap opera Magkano ang Iyong Dangal?
The son of multi-awarded actor Mark Gil said that having a project one after the other makes him feel like he’s doing his job right.
“Super happy, I love it. I feel like I’m really working now, I’m doing it now. I feel like I’m doing something. Before, ‘yon ang pinaka-ano, parang bakit gano’n there’s always a break. Ngayon, I’m very happy and very grateful talaga, as in I don’t know how to say it,” he tells the media people during a set visit in Marikina River Banks last week.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta jumped for joy as TV host Vic Sotto told her she got the correct answer for the P2-million-question of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? last Saturday, January 9, on TV5.
It’s a birthday victory for the singer-actress, who celebrated her 44th birthday last January 6. This is also the second time the Megastar won the jackpot prize in Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?. The first was in 2001 when the show was still hosted by Christopher de Leon on IBC-13.

After working on her latest soap opera for three years, Judy Ann Santos will finally be seen in her Nurserye titled Habang May Buhay. During her solo press conference held earlier today, January 11, at the 9501 restaurant at the ABS-CBN compound, Juday expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN for selecting her to be the face of 60 Years of Pinoy Soap Opera.
This announcement took place during the ABS-CBN Christmas Special taped at the Araneta Coliseum last December 18, 2009.
Phillip Salvador says winning MMFF acting awards twice in a row is his right time
After one year pa bago nasundan ang Baler (Viva Films) ng Ang Panday (GMA Films and Imus Productions). Sa dalawang magkasunod na Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), 2008 and 2009, muling kinilala ang kakayahan ni Phillip Salvador bilang aktor para sa pagganap niya sa dalawang pelikula. Itinanghal siyang Best Supporting Actor twice in a row sa MMFF.
“Nakakalungkot in a way na natagalan bago nasundan kasi one year ko ring ginawa ang Panday!” natatawang sabi pa ni Phillip sa panayam sa kanya.

Bradley Cooper was 25-years old then and he was taken to a beach in Croatia, but not just any beach. It is a nude beach. He then got caught with his clothes on and was told that “he was breaking the rules” and that “if asked, he must take it off!”

Simon Cowell is really leaving American Idol. Ryan Seacrest confirmed on Twitter.
Well, the rumor is true my dear friends. American Idol fans – - brace yourself. First, Paula Abdul and now, Simon Cowell. Hmmmm. I wonder what the show’s going to be like.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Ellen Degeneres and I think she’s a great contribution to the show. However, Paula’s crazy crocodile tears and “always nice” reviews together with Simon Cowell’s “brutal-but-honest-reviews” make a great show.
Ryan Seacrest sent a tweet saying,
“this is simon’s last season on idol. He’s working on US version of x-factor! He is one of the most brilliant people in our biz! Congrats”.
“i’m gonna interview simon tomorrow on the radio show…will ask him if @paulaabdul will be on x-factor. I’ll link u guys audio after.”
Simon Cowell will leave after this season and then, he will be a judge on X-Factor (and producing it as well).
Ellen says she is not taking Simon’s departure personally though.. ha! As she announced the news to her audience, she joked around about it but wished Simon well. There are also rumors that Simon Cowell is courting Paula Abdul to be a judge on X-Factor. Hmmm… funny how events turn huh?
